Chapter 8: Discovery

"My sunshine, I'm really really sorry," Aaron said.

"It's okay, I know you didn't mean to do that," she replied with a smile.

Aaron couldn't help but feel bad. He just hit his girlfriend across the face with a book causing a small pool of blood to form on the wooden floor of his dorm. Genevieve's cut was treated and she was ready to continue with her day. Both of them stood up and looked eachother in the eyes. Aaron turned away still thinking about the pain he caused Genevieve. She turned his head and smiled at him.

"Please, don't worry about it anymore," she asked.

Aaron didn't want her to worry anymore so he straightened up right away. Genevieve's feelings still didn't change for him although she got smacked across the face.

"I love you," she said.

Aaron was amazed that she could still say that after he did that to her. He thought that she was the most amazing girl in the world.

"I Love you too Genevieve, nothing can change that"

They instantly kissed. Aaron didn't seem to mind the cut on her face anymore and neither did she. After the kiss, she looked down with an unsure expression on her face.

"What's wrong beautiful?" He questioned.

"The ribbons... they were in your eyes..." she looked up at him.

"We're mine gold?"

"No, violet. Why do you ask?"

"Yours were golden, and they sparkled," he said.

"Yours were violet, they began to glow brighter as time went on," she stated.

Both of them we're scared for eachother not knowing what would happen next.

"Why were they different colors?" he wondered.

"Well I'm in the day class and you're in the night right? I guess it has to do with our class enrollment: day equals gold night equals violet. It's as simple as that," she explained.

Both of them discovered the eyes ribbons, but they couldn't get their hands on any information about the wide array vaccines in the labs.

"I don't have much to say about this, all I know is that they've been using the vaccines on students until they lost their minds completely," Aaron informed her.

Genevieve didn't know what to think after what he said. She only worried about losing Aaron for good.

"Will... will that happen to us?" she asked him with a worrisome expression on her face.

"I don't know... All I know is that I will keep fighting for you," he replied.

She then realized about the cut on her face again wondering what she would tell the day class. Genevieve didn't want either of them to get hurt or forgotten again.

"I can't stay here anymore, they found out and I don't want you to get hurt," she whispered.

"But, I don't want to lose you again," he answered softly.

She kissed him on the cheek and then looked at him.

"I'll be okay," she spoke with a smile.

She left the night class building and took off the bracelet. Her uniform went back to her white and gold uniform in an instant. She put the bracelet in her pocket and went back to her own dorm.
Aaron felt saddened at the fact Genevieve had to leave. He knew that if they communicated one of them would get the punishment of the vaccination. He knew she did that for the both of them but he wasn't happy at all. He looked down at the floor and noticed a note on a purple sticky note.

" This probably is stupid but meet me tonight. It's not like I'd stop meeting up with my boyfriend. Anyway meet me at the fountain on your side of the academy. See you later, I love you," the note read.

Although Aaron knew the consequences for being with Genevieve, he decided to meet up with her anyway. He then waited for nightfall to meet up his sunshine.
