Chapter 19: Until I'm Gone
Aaron stood up and left Genevive at the bench. She was still gazing at the jacket that had an unfamiliarized orgin to her. Genevieve didn't think much of Aaron's leave, yet she felt a suspicious tension between them.
Meanwhile Aaron was heading back to his dorm so he could plan what was to become of him next. As he was entering the dorm, Julia took glance at him as he was passing by. She felt a rush of displeasure and guilt flood her system as a regretful looked awakened. Aaron entered his room and closed the door from behind him then just layed down knowing what was to come next: He was prepared to be gone once
and for all.
The Next Morning...
"Aaron we need to talk," Julia demanded.
"It's okay, I'm not mad and don't say sorry" Aaron instructed.
He had a cold, almost vile expression on his faced when explaining which made Julia want to just keep her head down.
Aaron went outside to spend his last day at the academy, where everything began. He didn't want to see anyone, not even Genevieve, after all that has happened to him. Foolishly, he went to the garden to find something waiting for him, the last rose that didn't wilt after the frost the night before. The petals on it were almost consumed by the fractals of ice, yet the beauty didn't fade in it either. Aaron picked it and left it on the bench knowing that the next person who came there would find something waiting right where he left it.
After, he went to the clock tower alone. He noticed that day class just ended, but he didn't feel like seeing Genevieve; not like how she was. It would hurt him even more just to see her as lost as she was last night. He has a sense that her innerself was crying by what he saw with the snowflake tear grazing her cheek. She still looked adorable to him, but he severely missed her "adorkable" personality and how'd she would be cute although messing up on something. She was his sunshine, she lit up his day, yet without that he's could as night.
Genevieve was heading towards the tower noticing Aaron there at the moment. He didn't notice her, so she slowly walked up behind him. She lightly grasped his shoulder as he was looking down to the floor.
"What," Aaron said sighed
"Hi..." Genevieve smiled.
"Oh, hey..." He responded.
There was an awkward tension between them. Aaron didn't want to see her anymore, he wanted to give up on everything, on them, on her. He had tried so much to get everything right, he was tired and wanted a break. He knew he could have that break, and he soon could later that night.
"Back at the garden... what was all that about?" Genevive questioned.
"I- I just remember someone, she left me. I miss her, but she I don't think she misses me," he said trying to not make it obvious.
"Well, from a girls perspective, I have a feeling she misses you. You just seem like a good person, so I dont she why she wouldnt," she reassured him.
Hearing that hurt him more, he just ran back to the night class building, headed straight for the lab. Aaron couldn't take it anymore, he knew what he wanted, he knew what he needed, he knew he would rather die than suffer....
I'll Tell You One Last Story, Next Night.....
