Chapter 18: Eaten by Thought

It was nightfall. Aaron went back to his dorm after he visited the garden. He was debating whether he should live on or not. He felt like he was nothing but a memory to Genevieve. If he lived on, he still got to see Genevieve, but he would still feel pain seeing her lost in her own mind. If he died, he wouldn't have to cope with the pain anymore. He could be free. However, he wouldn't be able to see Genevieve anymore. Aaron didn't know what to do anymore. He couldn't decide what he wanted to do without Genevieve. If he had a decision it would always be based off her, but now she's gone.

Meanwhile at the Day class Building...

Genevieve was in her own dorm, trying to sleep off the memory that was unfamiliar to her. Her memory based dreams still went on in her sleep. In her dreams, she could see the day class lab and being strapped down to a chair. Genevieve saw Oscar holding up a syringe and injecting the substance in to her. She woke up from the horrific nightmare still lost on why these images keep appearing. She sat up from her bed, hyperventilating due to the "nightmare".

"What the hell was that.... was that...me?" She asked fearfully.

She got up and began to pace back and forth wondering if it was all a dream. Genevieve kept going back and forth in a argument of reality or fantasy. She couldn't decide what that image was to her. It was midnight, and she was too scared to go back to sleep. She changed into her uniform and went to the garden to clear her mind. She brought a black and yellow sweater with her too.

At the freezing garden, she put the slightly oversized hoodie on to keep her warm. She looked to the sky and saw many stars sparkling instantaneously.

Aaron walked up to the garden to clear his mind from insanity only to find Genevieve there once again. He say down next to her, but to she was too caught up by the view to notice.

"Beautiful sky isn't it?" He calmly asked for her opinion.

Shocked, Genevieve looked at Aaron terrified.

"Wha- what's are you-?" She got cut off.

"Relax, I'm not here to hurt you. I wanted to relax a bit," he explained.

"Alright then... I guess" she replied.

Aaron looked at her and noticed the hoodie she was wearing was slightly too big for her.

"Where did you get that hood?" He questioned.

"In all honesty, I'm not sure, but it means alot to me for some reason,"

He knew exactly where she got it from.

"I told you it would rain," Aaron teased.

*laughs* "I guess you win then," Genevieve said playfully.

"Here," Aaron said as he put his jacket on her.

"Wha- what are you doing?" She laughed.

"It's raining and you don't have a jacket," he reasoned.

"Aaron I cant-"

"Don't worry about it, I'll be fine"

They then walked home so that they can settle down. When Genevieve got home she took off the jacket and gave it back to Aaron.

"Thanks," she said.

"Keep it, you'll have a good use for it one day," he smiled.

Present time...

"I've always liked this hoodie, it just means something to me" Genevieve implied.

Aaron began to miss her more than he originally did. He stood up and left, knowing what he wanted to do with himself...
