Just a Little Boy
Ash's POV
|~|~|~|~|~|~|~|
Misty sleeps soundly beside me, the bed is plush, and by all means very comfortable. I just can't seem to get any sleep. I grab my phone off of the charger, the time reads 4:22, so right now my mom would be making breakfast for herself, professor Oak, and Brock. I smile to myself at the thought. Maybe I'm homesick I think. I get up and decide to eat some ramen noodles and drink a glass of water.
I crawl back into bed, and notice Misty is awake also. "Sorry babe, I didn't mean to wake you," she gives me a weak smile. "Oh Ash, you didn't wake me," Her voice sounds is shaking slightly, she must've had a nightmare. "Why don't you tell me what happened?" I suggest. She throws her arms around my neck, and begins to sob quietly, "Ash, it was so bad." I've never seen Misty so fragile, fragile was never a way to describe her. But seeing her in this state, I notice just how fragile she can be. It takes Misty forty-five minutes to fall back asleep.
"No, stop don't hurt her!" I scream at the top of my lungs to a man with chocolate brown hair, and dark eyes. He's wearing an orange suite and has persian beside him. Something about him seems so familiar, but I'm not sure what it is, all I know is he is using Misty to get to me, and who knows what he's going to do. A bullet flies from behind me and Misty's body crumples to the floor. I scream in agony, how could I let this happen.
I jolt awake from this awful dream, I'm drenched in sweat. The sun is bright from behind the curtain and Misty is no longer next to me, she must be up and getting ready for our busy morning. "Oh, shit!" We do have a busy morning. I jump out of bed and go to wear I kept my clothes in the dresser. I grab out a gray t-shirt and plain blue jeans. I walk pass the bathroom as Misty is putting on light makeup. She's wearing her hair in the normal side ponytail. She has on gray, smoky looking jean shorts, and a black tank-top. "Café sound good for breakfast?" She asks, as if she has fully brought herself back together from the nightmare. "Sounds great, fiancé." I say kissing her cheek. The blush easily visible. "I'm almost ready," she calls running back into the room, and soon appearing in the living room.

I look around the cafe, it has quite the good interior design. Walls are shade darker than beige, while the upholstered booth seats are red with many black and gold swirls. The tables are light peach with a black rim. And the chairs are black iron with pads for comfort in a light peach color.
I look down at the ring on the finger. The silver metal is separated in the middle, just enough to have a bright shining diamond right in the center. Then all along the edges, there are tiny diamonds going around.
I can't believe how mature Ash has grown... It's strange, a good strange. That's for sure.
I smile at myself, I always thought that the girl only got the guy of her dreams in movies. But no, I'm sitting at a table across from the man I loves, and my life is definitely not a fairy tale. But hey, it does have some pretty good moments.
I hear Ash finish off his plate with a loud burp, all I can do is smile at him.
"Ready to go, fiancé?" He asks a sly smile on his face.
"Yeah, let's go."

Later, we finally get to move some of our stuff into the apartment we are renting since we will be in Santos for a while.
Walking back up to our no longer hotel room to help Ash with his belongings. A smile on my face, I hoped that could never be wiped off. Until, I see Serena and Ash making out. Not even discreetly, but where ANYONE could see them. He seems like he's enjoying it too.
"Hmh," I grunt folding my arms across my chest, I can't stand to look at the scene any longer.
Ash looks up, pushing Serena away, she has a smirk on her face, and he looks panicked.
I walk up to Serena. "You come near him again, and I'll kick your tiny ass all the way to Viridian City. And don't doubt me, because doubt... Doubt's a bitch."
She storms off, clearly not too happy about the threat.
Ash looks at me stunned. "You know what Ash? You're just a little boy." I say the last word with a lot of venom.
He looks me from eye to eye.
"Mist, please let me explain."
I take the ring off my finger, and throw it at him. "The engagement's off." I turn to walk away. "And don't bother coming to the apartment tonight." I say, my voice shaking. I speed up my pace, so he doesn't see the tears as the begin to flow down my face.

I'm stunned into silence, not really sure what just happened, I remember Serena kissing me, and me giving in. Then Misty, her eyes, she looked so many emotions.
Angry?
Sad?
Disappointed?
I really don't know. But it's killing me.
I turn her ring around and around in my fingers.
Maybe she's right, maybe I am just a little boy.
