{3rd Person POV}
"Sir..." The teen girl started, her head hanging low.
"What is it?" Gabriel asks, his voice as cold as ice.
"I-I can't help you remove that Marinette girl." She tightly squeezed her fingers together, preparing for the worst.
"What do you mean you can't help me?!" He exclaims, and the girl flinches, looking into his dull grey eyes.
"M-my mother told me we're moving... I'll be out of Paris by tomorrow. We're going to America."
"You're always such a disappointment." Gabriel's voice dripped with anger. "You're useless to me now. The deal is off. Get out of my office before I call reinforcements."
"But sir, please, have mercy on me! I had no choice!"
"YOU ALWAYS HAVE A CHOICE!" Gabriel suddenly shouts, and the girl let a tear escape. "Don't let your mother find you. Stay in Paris while she leaves. You will live here if you succeed."
"Y-yes sir..." the girl wipes her tears.
"Pathetic." Gabriel commented. "Do not let me down again. You may take your leave."

{Marinette's POV}
The next day after school, I was glad that no akuma attack occurred.
Right now, it's 20:36 and the sun is beginning to set. Adrien is out patrolling the city while I finish my homework.
But I'm getting bored.
"Tikki, Spots On!" I transform without warning. I hop out my window and look for my kitty.
The air is just right; a slight breeze runs through my hair which is in its signature ponytails. It's warm, and the sunset is beautifully breathtaking.
The first place ain't check is out high school, but he wasn't there. Then is check the Eiffel Tower, but I couldn't find him either.
An hour passes, and I grow worried. I walk in the sidewalk, and take out my yoyo to call my mom.
"Hey mom, is Adrien there?" I ask.
"No sweetie, your room is empty." She replies. "Why? Is something wrong?"
"No, no, just wondering." I say, biding her goodbye with a thanks and hang up.
Then, I hear groaning, like a man in pain. I see an alleyway just up ahead, and I run to it.
I turn into the darkness, and all is see is those green cat eyes.
"Cat Noir?" I call out, slowly approaching him.
"H-help me, Ladybug," he says in a week voice. He drags himself out into the street light, and the first thing I see is his leg, blood spewing out of it like a fountain.
"I-it's not as bad as it looks," Cat Noir attempts to smile, but it falters.
I cover my mouth with my hands to stop the sob. Tears run down my face. I reach down and pull him up and he uses the wall to lean on.
"You stupid cat!" I shout. "What happened?!"
"I-I'll... I'll explain when I get this treated." He mumbled. He was pale, and could barely keep his eyes open.
"Did you use your cataclysm?" I ask.
"N-no."
I pull out my yo-yo and call the police.
"Please help," I say to the operator. "The great love of my life is bleeding from a wound and it won't stop."

When the ambulance and police arrived, they were surprised to see Paris's two super heroins climbing into a stretcher and in the back of an ambulance.
"Ladybug, don't let him fall asleep." One of the doctors told me.
I grab his hand, using my other hand to ruffle his hair.
"Cat, please, you can't do this again. Why didn't you call me, you dumb cat?" The tears came back, and I struggled to speak.
"I'll never leave your side, LB," he mutters. He sighs. "Tell me a story."
I wipe my tears, taking in a deep, shaky breath.
"Okay. Okay." I force myself to stop crying. Do it for him, I think. I decide to tell him the short version of a book I recently finish, a book that I fell in love with. "Once upon a time, there was a girl. Her name was Hazel. Hazel Grace Lancaster. She met this boy at her Support Group. Hazel has cancer, and she has a cannula in her nose at all times. At the Support Group, she finds out the boy's name is Augustus Waters. She falls in love with him.
"After weeks of spending time with each other, they fall in love. Augustus loves metaphors, and Hazel loves Augustus. She nicknamed him Gus, just like his family. After they met a horrible man, the author of their favorite book, he finally kissed her. He tells her bad news; he took an X-ray and he lit up like a Christmas tree. He had a eighty percent of living. But unfortunately, he was stuck in the twenty. He was an unlucky black cat, and she was the lucky ladybug. She didn't feel so lucky. She missed him dearly, but soon learned he was happy now. She smiled, remembering the memories. She found a letter that was meant for her but was never finished. He said in the letter that he hopes she is happy with her choices. Smiling to herself, she whispers, 'I do, Augustus. I do.'"
The ambulance stops. Cat Noir was staring at me with affection in his eyes.
"I love you," he whispers as they take him out the ambulance, me following. I desperately try to follow, but they don't allow it.
"I love you too," I whisper, tears streaming.
I wait in the waiting room, families looking at me with sad eyes. A little girl comes up to me.
"Hi, Ladybug," she says, and sits down next to me.
"Hey. What's your name?" I ask.
"I'm Océane. I'm nine years old. Why're you here?"
"Cat Noir got hurt badly. How about you?"
The girl looks shocked. "Is he okay?"
I smile. "He's fine. Just tired and in pain."
"I'm here because we're saying goodbye to my daddy. He passed away yesterday."
I felt my heart clench. "I'm so sorry," I wrap my arms around her.
"It's okay. People die, others cry. That's just life." She hugs me back.
I'm shocked at how smart she is. "I'm sure he loved you very much. You're such a smart little girl."
She nodded. "He always told me that. I miss him." She pauses. "I hope Cat Noir is okay."
"Me too." I reply.
"Well, in order to get to the rainbow, you gotta go through the storm first, right?" She gives me a small smile.
"You're right." I hear someone call her name. "Looks like you're wanted. It was nice talking to you,"
"You too. Thanks, Ladybug. Bye!" She runs off.
I smile sadly. She deserves so much more.
I walk over to a nearby bathroom and detransform. Making sure the coast is clear, I exit the bathroom and sit in the same chair in the waiting room.
I take out my earbuds and phone and play slow music.
Baby
I've been going through some changes
I close my eyes.
Been running out of maybe's
Boy I know you losin' patience
Losin' patience with me
Sometimes I get fed up with all the games
Sometimes you all just act the same
Maybe I'm the one to blame
That's just how the game goes
When you're feeling alone
Everybody got somebody that they mess with on the low
Now I just want you to save me
I just want you to save me, oh
We got options
But I just wanna let you know that I decided
I finally realized that all I want is you
You
All I want is you
You, you, you
You, you
I ain't like all them other girls
You can't treat me like them other girls no more
You see me like another girl
I've been waiting for you to make a move
Oh, oh, oh
You know that I'm fed up with all the games
You all just act the same
Maybe I'm the one to blame
That's just how the game goes
Just want someone to hold
Everybody needs somebody to be there when they're alone
I just want you to save me
Just want you to save me
We got options
But I wanna let you know that I decided
I finally realized that
All I want is you
You, you, you
You, you, ooh
All I want is you
You, you, you
You, you, ooh
We got options
But I wanna let you know that I decided
I finally realized that
All I want is you
You, you, you
You, you, ooh
All I want is you
You, you, you
You, you, ooh
When the song was over, I open my eyes to see that the waiting room was empty.
That was fast, I thought.
I put away my phone and earbuds in my purse and hand Tikki a cookie. I walk up to the receptionist desk.
"Can I see Cat Noir?" I ask. She types into her computer.
"You may. Room H56."
"Thank you."
I rush to the elevator, pushing the second floor button.
When I finally made it up, I run to H56.
I slowly open the door.
Cat Noir laid in the bed, eyes closed. He was still pale, and he looked sick.
I walk over to him and sit in a chair next to his bed. I grab his hand.
"Please be okay..." I whisper. I bring his hand up to my lips, and kiss it. "I won't forgive you if you leave me."
I know it was in his leg, but I wanted to know what happened. It looks like he got shot, and there was a lot of blood. The doctor had told me he lost a lot of blood.
What if the bullet was still in there, in fragments? What if they have to remove his leg?
Tears came to my eyes. I let go of his hand and cover my face, my soft cries being the only thing I hear.
"Don't go, Cat," I pleaded. "Please. Don't leave me."
I grit my teeth, the sadness in my heart growing more and more.
Then, I hear it.
The flapping of wings.
An akuma!
"No no no no no no please no!" I get up from the chair, backing up to the wall as it gets closer. I block my face with my arms.
The akuma flies into my left earring.
"Marinette Dupain-Cheng." A dark voice, Hawk Moth, says.
"No! Leave me alone! Please!" I scream, not even worrying about waking up Cat Noir.
"I'm Hawk Moth. You're in despair, and you've been wrong too many times."
"STOP!" I scream.
"I can give you the power of happiness. You can spread your power to make others happy, too. That doesn't sound evil, does it?"
I think for a moment.
"All you need to do for me in return is give me Ladybug and Cat Noir's miraculous."
I stop fighting. I begin to reach for my miraculous, but stop.
I wipe my tears.
"Yes, Hawk Moth."
