Chapter Four: There's an Intruder?
Gold's P.O.V.
I wanted to visit Green Hill to investigate my mom's disappearance, but if something happened, I wanted to meet Elle face-to-face first. I yearned to speak to her face-to-face rather than be spooked off by that freakishly tall Mobian again. I decided I would sneak out when I got the chance. When all of the lights were out in the headquarters, I took out my teleporter and tried to use it to teleport to Spagonia. But because of the constant use, it was far too worn and old to work like it was intended. When it was used, I could feel my body twisting and turning. Nausea and dizziness hit me like a freight train. I gagged and tried to relieve them when I remembered something...
My mom always told me that whenever I felt dizzy, I should close my eyes so that it could lessen the effects. The wind whooshed past my ears as I closed my eyes, and I could barely focus on the dizziness. Then, I realized I still missed her, and a tear streamed down my cheek. "Mom..." Then, it suddenly got quiet. I cautiously opened my eyes and saw that I had landed in Spagonia. The ground around me had cracks. It must have been from the meteors or the worn-out teleporter. I checked my surroundings and saw that I was in the backyard of Spagonia University, right outside Elle's room.
Elle's P.O.V.
I was still pretty shaken up from the meteor shower. Don't get me wrong: I heard worse stories hanging out with Sonic. But I didn't realize something like this could happen somewhere so close to home. As I contemplated what happened, I failed to notice someone was in the backyard until Ari pointed it out. I was busy doodling in my sketchbook when I felt a nudge on my shoulder as she gestured to the glass door. "Not tryna stop your big brain moment right now, Elle, but I think there's an intruder outside." "What?!" I immediately got out of my trance and bolted outside onto the balcony. Once the door was open, I had to double-check my eyes weren't playing tricks. Gold was standing there, in the flesh, outside my dorm.

I closely watched the balcony for a moment before a dark silhouette sprinted to it. Before I figured out who it was, it began making its way toward me. As it got closer, I could recognize that it was Elle in the dark and windy night. I stumbled and tried to pick up my words. "I-I-" But by the time I got to my senses, she was already in front of me, her confused eyes looking over me. Before I was able to form words, she spoke first. "Gold? What are you doing here?" She said in disbelief as she stood next to me. Now that I saw her up close for the first time, I realized something: Elle was taller than me by two or so inches.
"Um, I, uh, " I stuttered. I didn't know what to say in the heat of the moment. It almost felt like an interrogation. Before I could say anything, I felt a warm and soft sensation engulf me. Elle hugged me. I was so taken aback that I just froze on the spot. "I'm happy you're okay! Wait, you are okay, right?" She asked, pulling away from the hug to look at me with worried eyes. It almost looked as if she was giving me puppy dog eyes...I didn't realize I was staring until she waved a fingerless-gloved paw. "Mobius to Goldilocks...?" "Oh! Y-Yes, I'm fine, doll. And don't worry, the Resistance is too." "Oh, awesome!" She smiled at me, her fangs glistening in the moonlight. "But...again...what are you doing here?" She asked again, cocking her head to the side as she stared at me with those adorable hazel eyes.
"Well...I-I'll explain in a bit, alright?" "Oh, okay. Anyhoo, uh, have any questions for me?" I nodded and started asking about Spagonia. Elle proceeded to feed me surprisingly interesting information...Especially when she mentioned the tall tower nearby the university. "It's beautiful at night...Tourists say that that tower is one of the most romantic places they've been to. I've seen it from my dorm, but I've never been inside...Never really had someone to go with." Her voice trailed off, sounding saddened as her ears drooped. My heart ached when I heard this. 'Maybe I'll take her there someday...' "Hey." I reached up and gently cupped her cheek, directing her attention towards me."M-Maybe um...We could go there together someday." 'Well, I've asked. I hope she'll say yes-' Her ears instantly perked up when she heard this. "Really?" She asked, her lavender cheeks turning red. I nodded, smiling at her. "Yeah. It'll be something to look forward to." Elle chuckled, turning her head away from me. "T-true..."
Ari's P.O.V
'What is taking that purple poofball so long to scare off an intruder?' I had been watching some random show on Elle's T.V. when I realized she had been gone for five to ten minutes. "Elle...?" I walked outside onto the balcony and looked around before glancing down. She was talking with a yellow and red Shadow. 'But why is that dude's hand on my friend's cheek? And she's blushing?' Wait..that was Gold. A smirk formed on my face when I realized what was happening. 'Oh, this will be fun to watch.'

I was unsure what to do, so I slowly wrapped my arms around her in a hug. But before I could fully wrap them around, an unfamiliar voice spoke. "So, friends with stalkers now?" That odd-looking mobian from earlier was above us on the balcony. She had tucked her hands in her hoodie pockets as she smirked at us. Elle jumped, holding me close to her chest as she turned to the odd Mobian, who flipped off the balcony and onto her feet a few meters away from us. "A-Ari!" Elle rolled her eyes as she looked at her, murmuring something that sounded like "Showoff.' I chuckled quietly at that. The one called Ari stared at me, seemingly giving me a stinkeye before she placed her hand on her chin, rubbing it before the bored confusion on her face curved into a sinister and mischievous smirk as she glanced over at Elle.
"Oh, so this is your boyfriend from the photo, hmm?" she spoke teasingly and pointed toward me. I could feel my face heating up until I could feel a fever coming. Knowing that my face had become as red as Elle's jean jacket, I tried covering it using one of my hands to shield it from the stares of Elle and Ari, but Elle was holding me. I looked up and saw that she was far redder than I was. It looked as if Elle was about to explode at any moment. She then turned to Ari with an embarrassed and flustered expression.
"He's not my boyfriend, Ari! You- You!" Elle was unable to make sense of her words. Noticing this, she shut her mouth, let go of me, and lunged toward Ari, who dodged the frustrated Werehog's attack. "Ehe~" Ari giggled while winking with her tongue sticking out. She backed away as Lailani scrambled to tackle the odd Mobian. "WHY I OUGHTA BEAT YOUR BEHIND RIGHT HERE AND NOW!" Elle shouted, a slash targeted at Ari's hoodie. "Lai, ya can't catch me! You're too red right now!" Ari laughed as she dodged Elle's attack. "Y-yeah, I can! I'm faster than you!" She yelled as she tried to catch Ari. She was too flustered to focus on capturing her properly and kept stumbling and tripping, trying to desperately stay stable.
"Really? Then why are you stumbling like you're drunk?" Ari jabbed Elle with her stumbling and flustered expression. "S-Shut up!" Elle became redder than she already was. I didn't know that was possible. She continued chasing after Ari while yelling and stumbling. They both seemed to have fun with each other. I guessed I was mistaken about Ari's intentions and was glad we cleared up any misunderstandings. But most of all, I got to meet Elle.
