Lailani Pov

Tails finally fixed the Tornado and packed some more stuff on it. I don't see why this is all necessary as it will only take us a few minutes to go to the ship Ari and Vivian were held captive. So, I asked him.

"Uh, Tails?" I started while approaching him. He was packing stuff like explosives.

"Hmm, what is it?" He stopped what he was doing and turned to me.

"Uh, why are you packing explosives?" I asked him out of curiosity. Why does he need to bring explosives when it's just a trip to the ship and just get outta there as soon as we got Ari and Vivian.

"Oh, um, I'm packing explosives cuz I have to get to base to help with holding the borders" Tails said hesitantly.

"What do you mean?" I asked. What did he meant? What's wrong with the border?

"We just got word from G.U.N saying that someone threatened to attack the resistance so this us what I'm doing" He explained.

"We could help!" I said confidently. Who in their right mind would wanna attack the resistance when THE sonic the hedgehog is there?

"No, sorry. But right now, you gotta rescue Ari and Vivian. But you can help when you're done." He said while starting the engine of the Tornado.

Well, that was disappointing. I was really looking forward to Sonic and Sarah in action. But I'm not complaining. We do have someone we have to rescue.

Gold Pov

We got in the Tornado as Tails turned it on. I stood on one of the plane's wing cuz there weren't enough seats in there. Lailani sat in the seat and we began lifting off the ground.

As we were starting to leave the ground, I saw a figure watching us in the woods. It was Whisper. I can see her mouthing the word 'good luck'. Why does she needs to say that? It's just Eggman's base.

We arrive at the ship. It was still moving so we have to be sneaky so that we don't get caught. Tails bid us farewell and flew off to the other direction.

We looked around the area and tried to avoid any robots or anything that could cause an alarm. They have our friends so if we mess up, they'll use them as hostages.

We sneaked around the ship while holding hands. Ngl, I was kinda flustered when Lailani ask me to hold my hands because she was scared and didn't want to get separated.

We sneaked around the ship and took out a few robots. We then saw some minecart that led to a tunnel. Some of the robots got inside and when into the tunnel.

Lailani Pov

I went to get inside one of the minecart but Gold stopped me. He said it was too dangerous. I assured him that it'll be fine plus the robots got in them like nothing is gonna happen. Gold reluctantly agreed and got in one of the minecart and it started moving on its own.

We entered the tunnel and everything was quiet until we got to a junction. It led to two different area. Then at that moment, I realized me and Gold was about to be separated. I tried to reach out to him but it was too late we entered the crossroads and changed tracks and he was heading towards a place called ' Control '.

While I headed towards a room called ' Containment '. My minecart entered the room and immediately threw me out and dashed off back to the loading dock.

Well, now we're separated and up in the sky.... What do we do now?
