Lailani Pov

We were searching for parts needed for the tornado. But for some reason, we couldn't find the parts. It was simple items like gears, generator and scrap pieces of metal. We went to back to the village and still found no parts at all.

"I'm very sorry, we couldn't assist you in your findings. Hopefully, lady luck bows to you" the chief said after wishing us luck.

"This is hopeless!" Gold finally breaks down.

"We're never gonna find the parts needed for the tornado. We're never gonna be able to rescue Ari and Vivian. And... My parents..." Gold had tears in his eyes. He was losing all hope at this point. I put my hand on his shoulder.

"It'll be alright. We still have hope. Don't give up. We're not done yet" I gave him a thumbs up. Gold looked at me and chuckled abit.

"You really are just like Sonic. No wonder you're both the same" He said. I didn't get what he meant but those few words gave me encouragement.

"Well? What are we waiting for? Pizza? Let's get a move on. We don't know what's happening to the others rn but the sooner we find them the better" I said with a worried face. Vivian seemed like a fragile little girl. I'm sure Ari can handle herself but sometimes around she's gonna snap and I know it.

Gold Pov

I looked at Lailani in awe. She was even more hopeful than I am. Those words gave me strength to move on and find the parts.

"Pretty" I accidentally said. I didn't know what came over me. It slipped out. I hope she didn't hear it.

"Hmm? You said something?" She asked looking quite clueless.

"I said, let's go! My feet are getting tired from standing around" I lied trying to cover up what I had just said.

"Oh, you're right" Lailani started walking and slowly getting even faster.

I ran with her. Although I'm not as fast as her, my teleporting abilities can still catch up to her. We ran looking for the parts.

Little did we know there was a pair of prying eyes lurking in the shadows watching us.
