Gold Pov

I woke up early. As soon as I did that, my phone got a notification. It was a reminder about the mission. I was excited. I finally get to meet my parents. I quickly got ready and pack up all the things I need. I also grabbed my phone. As I was about to leave, my door opened and my mentor barged in.

"Gold! Just the person I'm looking for!" he began. Oh boy, here we go. " I need your help. You see, the site director has give me a-". " Will you just give me the assignment already? You do this all the time." I cut him off. He does this all the time. Might as well just quit the job. " Woah, someone's in a cranky mood. Anyway, a new member had joined G.U.N and the site director wanted me to lend them the ropes" he complained." And you want me to do the job instead, right?" I said. " You know me so well" he said.

 I was about to reject the offer but he just shove the responsibility onto me. He immediately left and went to his car presumably going to a party. I sighed and went to see the cadet. But before that, I have to wait for Lailani with that Ari girl to arrive.

Lailani Pov

I was outside of my house. I was waiting for Ari to get ready. But she was taking too long. I was very esctatic to go on a mission with Gold so that's why I woke up early. I checked my texts to text Ari to hurry up. But when I opened my chats, there was already a message.

' Adios, ✌️😋' that's the message she left. It was a few minutes ago. That twerp left without me. That means... Oh great. Now I'm the slowpoke.

I ran to G.U.N facility. The building was bigger than I thought. Thank god Ari hadn't arrived yet. I waited inside instead. I got very bored so I texted her.

' Are you at the main entrance?' I texted.

'No, I just landed my helicopter at the heli pad. Yes, I'm at the main entrance' she texted sarcastically.

I looked outside and saw her holding her phone while staring at me with a 'Are you kidding me?' face. She entered the building. We joked for a bit and I saw Gold approaching us.

Ari Pov

Gold approach us and stared at Lailani for a bit. I was a bit disgusted. He then signaled us to follow him. He brought us to a room. Outside of the room was Shadow. He stared at us and walked away. Like a typical edgelord.

We enter the room and saw a serious looking guy at the table.

"So, are you ready to look for them?" He asked Gold, ignoring the company he brought (How rude!)

"Yes, I'm ready. I'm also bringing some company" he looked at us.

"Ah, I see. Well then, good luck" he said.

As we were leaving, he stopped us.

"I almost forgot. Gold, I forgot to give you this" He gave Gold a picture frame with a picture of a happy family.

Gold Pov

As the site director gave me a picture frame, I couldn't believe my eyes. It was a picture of me with my parents. I couldn't help but get emotional.

I didn't remember taking this picture when I was young. It looked like it was taken a while back.

I didn't notice it until Ari pointed it out. There was a baby in Jack's hand. It look like a hedgehog. I didn't remember having a sibling.

I thanked the site director and we went outside his room. As soon as I stepped outside his office, a hedgehog was infront of my face. It was the cadet.

"Um, hi there! Cadet Vivian present!" She exclaimed. It was pretty obvious that she's the cadet and it's probably her first time working here.

"Uh, hi there, Vivian. Sorry to inform you but I have to leave." I said. But as soon as I did, she started having tears in her eyes. She was pretty upset about it.

"Hey, maybe you can join." Lailani said. She trying to calm down the crying kid.

"R-really? I would be honored" she said.

What have I gotten myself into?
