Lailani Pov

I woke up to Gold looking shocked. He was holding a piece of gold chain. He was staring at Vivian as if he had seen a ghost.

"Gold?" I asked. I was worried that he might had saw something bad. He turned and looked at me. His face turned from shocked to relief in a short period of time.

I looked around and saw that Ari was laying on the floor. But I wasn't worried. She was asleep. I turned to look back at Gold. He was staring at Vivian. His face immediately turned into a serious expression.

When Vivian woke up, Gold grabbed her and began interrogating her like a cop. " Who are you?! How did you get this thing?!" Gold showed her the piece of golden chain. The chain had a piece of half a heart. It almost looked identical to the ones that was in Gold's family golden heart necklaces.

Vivian was surprised but her expression immediately changed to calm quite quickly as soon as she realize that Gold was talking about the necklace. I was quite surprised at her sudden change of expression. I mean, like how can she change her expression that quick? Even I was surprised.

"Well, my mother gave it to me." Vivian explained. " Where did she get this? Answer me!" Gold lost his cool. I ran to his side and calmed him down. " Gold, calm down. Plz keep your cool." I told him. I didn't like it that he loses his cool. " She said she got it from a friend. It's the only thing that reminds me of her." Vivian explained. She was staring at the necklace longingly. It obviously very important to her.

Gold looked at the necklace and at Vivian. He hesitated to give her the necklace but decided to give it to her anyway. Vivian was relieved and kept the necklace close to her. Gold looked at her and was smiling. He then looked at me and his smile fade away. He then leaned on my shoulder and wondered if he did the right thing. I reassured him that he did.

Gold Pov

I leaned on Lailani's shoulder. I really miss my parents. But that necklace belongs to Vivian and its not mine. She reminds me of a certain someone but idk who.

We were all trying to find a way out. We also kinda have forgotten about a certain someone.

"Oi! Hedgehogs! Did you guys seriously forgot about me?" An unimpressed voice said. We turned around and saw Ari wide awake sitting on the floor with her hand on her face.

"Uh, we didn't forgot about you. Kinda" Lai responded. But Ari still look unimpressed. "Whatevs let's find a way outtta this cave. This place gave me the creeps" Ari said while standing up.

"I don't think this place is the only place giving us the creeps" Vivian mumbled. Me and Lailani laughed a bit. She was obviously referring to Ari's dark aura. But Ari was unimpressed.

"Seriously?" She said. Seems like she had switched to her sarcastic side very quickly.

Lailani Pov

We were walking our way out of the cave. Gold and Vivian started talking and getting closer. I don't have any problem or anything but I can't help but feel a tad bit jealous.

We reached the end of the cave and there was a giant yellow crystal. It looks bigger than the master emerald. It starts emiting some sort of energy around it. Me, Gold and Vivian stayed back, sensing the energy. But Ari did not. She approach the crystal and attempted to touch it. I shouted at her not to.

She looked back at me, her hand inches away from the crystal. Suddenly, the crystal zapped her hand. "Ouch, that stings!" She exclaim

"Maybe, it's an electric crystal." Vivian said. I have never heard of a n electric crystal except from comic books or games.

"It might be an unknown chaos emerald."Gold said. He knows more about chaos emerald than me.

"Whatever it is, it's not friendly. Let's get moving" Ari said. She wasn't wrong that thing is dangerous. It was emiting some sort of energy. So we began our walk

Little did we know, ever since that encounter with the crystal. Someone stabs us in the back...
