Glad that Ari was still alive. Tho, I never ask myself this but what is she? She's certainly not a cat and what kind of creature does that tail belong to? Not only that, but her skin was also hard. Not just any hard but like I just slapped a wall with my bare hands. Although she said that she's an alien, I always brushed it off cuz maybe that's what she it but I'm not really sure now...

"Hey, pick up the pace will ya, Lai?" Ari said from a distance infront of me. I didn't realize I had drifted off. I quickly pick up the pace.

I might as well forget about this until we're safe or out of here, then I'll ask.

We went to multiple rooms and still found no sign of Gold or Vivian. Although, it's mostly me since Ari kept drifting off into space. Not literally, she was just zoning out.

I tapped her shoulder. "Huh? Oh, hey Layla. What is it?" She asked after I tapped her.

"Hey, I know this sounds weird but what are you?" I hesitantly asked. It's a weird question but can you blame me?

"Hmm, let's see. I'm a freak of nature" She blatantly said out loud. She's not taking this seriously.

"Seriously?" I gave a bland look. What was I expecting. She's doesn't take anything seriously.

"What? Even I don't even know what I am" she said with a shrug. I supposed things will have to stay a mystery then.

We wander places from places, we found a slide that leads to who knows where. Ari being Ari, of course, want to go in. But I was more cautious.

"Ari, STOP!! We don't know where that leads!" I tried to warn her. But she just gave me a mischievous smile. Oh boy, I know what's gonna happen here. But then again... I'm also curious.

Before we can go through the slide, some bots was going through the hallway, getting closer to us. We quickly hid behind some boxes.

They were carrying a pile of unusable scraps. They then proceeded to dump the scraps down the slide.

"That slide was very convenient" said one of the boys. "Yes, along with the acid down there" said another as they went away.

I looked at Ari with a mortified look. But she just gave a :3 face. She still wants to go down there. I had enough so I drag her just far enough so that she can't reach the slide.

Ari POV

Layla was being a mom and was dragging me away from my destiny, risk. But then again, she is wiser than me despite our age differences. Once we were far away from the slide she finally lets go of me.

"You kidding me? Do you want to die? There's acid down there!" She warned me. Of course there's acid but I survived a nuke so this is child play.

"I know that. I just like to risk myself. A day without risk is very boring" I said with a meh face. Layla really not acting herself.

But then again, can you blame her? Her crush is on the same ship as her and he's probably in danger ( girl, you thought).

Once the robots were gone, we continue head on with our search for Romeo and some girl. What's her name again Vivienne? Viola? Viona? Whatever it was. Forgettable character she was.

As we were searching, we decided to stop for a rest. I could tell Layla was up for this cuz she was constantly tapping her feet as if to hurry up. I leaned back against a railing and parts of it comes off almost making me fall to my death if Layla didn't caught me in time.

We looked at each other before looking back at the railing. Layla went to inspect the railing but trip and fell to the dark void.

"LAYLA!!!!!!" A scream can be heard echoing through the whole ship.

Lailani POV

This is it. Guess this is how I die. I've never got to say how I really feel to Gold. As I was about to let fate decide my fate, I instantly got reminded of those I wanted to protect. I can't die here. Not like this.

I turned and tried to land with both of my feet but it's quite difficult to do so if I cannot see the ground.

All of the sudden, I feel a splash and I was in a tub of water or not. I don't think it's water but it tastes salty and feels like I'm floating in the clouds.

I swam up from the substances and got out of the tub and what I saw next shocked me to my core.

"Layla! You okay?" I can hear Ari calling my name.

"Y-yeah" I replied, half distracted by I am seeing.

"Hey Ari, you might want to take a look at this" I called her over.

Ari jumped down and didn't land in the tub. I'm pretty sure she broke her ankle. But that didn't seemed to bother her. She was also fazed by what we were seeing.
