Lailani's POV

Oh, shoot! Ari was staring at me. I can tell she has many assumptions in that little jellybean brain of hers. Although her brain is small, she is sharp. I quickly tried to come up with a lie

"It's a friend from Overseas. That's all" I lied. I hope her small brain is dumb enough to fall for it.

Perhaps, it was the blush or I'm a terrible liar cuz she said this.

"You're terrible at lying. That's a boy, isn't it?" Ari attacked me ( with the question, not literal). That caught me off guard.

" Sigh, I guess your brain is not small enough. Otherwise, yes, it is." I finally gave in. It's no use hiding it. She'd probably go through my stuff to find out.

" What does he look like?" She shot me another question. Another impossible to dodge question. She'll just ask Sarah what Gold looks like anyways.

I showed Ari what he looks like. I hope she isn't getting any ideas. But then again, she's a Xanian and Gold's a Mobian so she'd probably be less interested anyway.

That is till she said this...

" He looks cute, doesn't he?" She said in the most condescending way. W-what? That completely caught me off guard. I was confused. She couldn't be, right?

"H-hey! You can't have him!" I snapped. I didn't even realized what I had said till they actually came out of my mouth.

"Excuse me?" Ari said in a surprised manner.

"I-I said you can't have him" I repeated the phrase. What is wrong with me?

That's actually when I realized.... It was one of Ari's cruel tricks. Acting and provoking. I know this cuz she was grinning and said these few words.

" You.... Fell for it!" She said while grinning like the Cheshire cat.

1 minute later...

Sarah came back from her audaciously long bathroom break. She saw the mess of the sociopathic maniac laughing and a ripe red tomato face hedgehog

"Let me guess. Ari found out, didn't she?" She said with one of her hands on her hips.

"You bet I did. It was too easy." Ari said while still dying of laughter.

I was still embarrassed that I fell for that trick. I tried to change the topic. She knows what she was doing since the beginning.

"So, Ari how's your friends?" I quickly said, trying to change the topic. I really wanna get outta this situation. It really made me uncomfortable.

"Don't think you can just change the subject that easily. But to answer your question, they are perfectly fine in hospital wards" Ari spoke in an arrogant way.

"What?!" I was shook. What is that supposed to mean? Did something happened to them?

"Don't worry, this happens alot. 5 times a month" Ari leaned back, nonchalantly.

"B-but aren't you worried? They could've died" I questioned Ari's morals and humility.

"We have plot armor. We'll survive longer" Ari replied, again, nonchalantly.

"Anyway, let's forget about this and make Ari's visit memorable" Sarah tried to change the subject.

"Sure, this place looks like there's many things to explore here. Let's get moving" Ari was finally distracted from the topic. That just went from 0 to 100 real quick bit at least that's over. Let's just forget about it.

We went to souvenir shops and bought lots of stuff. By the end of the day, Ari now looks like a tourist (not that she didn't stand out in the first place).

At the end of the day, we went back to my house to spend the night. We found out alot of things about each other. Ari is a shifter, Sarah used to be involved in alot of drama and I have my secret that shared with them but mostly Ari since Sarah was already aware of this secret of mine.

That summarize the visit for today. Little did I know.... That was perhaps the last day I will ever have a normal life...
