Chapter 46: Insights of bonds

Sanskaar slouched back on the couch lazily as he closed his blazing eyes after surfing through a couple of channels to distract his mind but it only increased his headache and made him drowsy.

Asha walked to her grandson and softly placed the coffee mugs on the table. She knew something was definitely wrong for she has not seen Sanskaar disturbed like that. The contact of warm fingers on his cheeks made his shoulder blades tensed up but eventually relaxed when he knew who it was and held her hand securely like he was scared from loosing that warmth.

He opened his eyes only to see his grandmother's face contorted in worry as she stared at him. Asha sat beside Sanskaar forwarding his coffee mug, he gladly took the mug and sipped in. The coffee was aptly appealing that it reposed his sored body and throbbing veins but not his depressing thoughts.

Asha too sipped her coffee in utter silence giving him enough space to ponder upon whatever he was thinking about until she saw Sanskaar placing his mug on the table stand and lay down to rest his head on her lap. Asha's wrinkled, weak fingers softly ran into her grandson's sleek, midnight hair and Sanskaar shut his eyes closed to seek some comfort.

For some unknown reason, Laksh mother's soft gaze and motherly love made him irked and yearn at the same time. Of course Asha didn't love him any less and infact she and Aravind loved to pamper him a lot but there was this unfilled void of not having his own parents was still raw and hurting in a corner of his heart.

"Girlfriend, promise me that you'll stay with me forever." Sanskaar whispered holding Asha's hand firmly yet not in a hurting way. Asha got startled for a minute hearing him but then a stubble, wistful smile graced her lips.

"You know I'm counting days son. How am I supposed to give you that assuring word knowing I won't be able to keep?" Sanskaar's eyes misted at that. He couldn't even imagine a life without her, it terrified him to an extent that he already brought a strong wave of ache in his heart. His dada's death left him blindsided and completely in shambles, it took him so long to cope up and he will not be able to pick up himself if anything happens to Asha. Just the thought brought him all those shadows that loomed over him.

"Medical reports says you are doing well than before and you say you're counting days girlfriend?" He looked up at her irritated and Asha shook her head in disbelief. She didn't know how to make him understand that death may not always necessarily be connected with health deterioration and the boy would not even listen a word regarding that particular topic 'death'.

"But one day I'll have to leave-- I'm just worried what you would do without anyone by your side Sanskaar. Sometimes I would even think of what if your parents finds you now, I would handover you to them and only then I will be able to rest in peace." Asha mused. Leaving her beloved kid back alone made her worried sometimes, Sanskaar would devastated and she really hoped atleast now he could finally get his own family so that he would be able to move on and have someone to hold him. His eyes shot up hearing that rant of Asha. Sanskaar's jaws clenched tightly and fury ran through his veins with that mention. He sat straight.

"Of course the heartless parents who abandoned their 20 days old baby on the streets like throwing a thrash out of their house." Pure sarcasm dripped in his words and his eyes darkened, Asha sighed heavily. Though it was a sarcastic comment, deep down she knew it was his way of reflecting and displaying the pain he was going through while Sanskaar breathed in rage, "What makes you think I would go to them dadi?"

"But we never know the other side of situation Sanskaar." Asha tried to break through the adamant Sanskaar who stood solid not wanting to break. He shook his head and kneeled down before Asha holding both her hands, "Maybe but that does not them any right to abandoned me. If not for you and dada, can you imagine what would have happened to me?" Tears ran through Asha's cheeks as she cupped Sanskaar's cheeks while his own eyes blurred with tears and his voice broke, turning more heavier.

Pangs of emotions washed over their hearts. Gratefulness was always a smaller word he could define for whatever the elder couple did for him. He was forever indebt to them for accepting him with all their hearts and took care of him like their very own kin and was not like his so called parents who left him on streets, "No matter who comes-- no one can replace you and dada nor can they seperate me from you. You both will always remain my parents, guardians, mentors."

With that Sanskaar softly embraced Asha and let her rest his head on her chest who wept softly while Sanskaar pressed his eyelids down and let a lone tear stroll down on his cheeks. He would not deny the emotion he would feel everytime he could see small kids with their parents happily playing and laughing ever since he got to know about himself but the fact that he always had Asha and Aravind to lean on was his soley hope and peace. They were his mother and father figures and it was engraved in his soul.

Asha rubbed his back softly as she her mind drifted back to the time when Manoj and herself found the baby infant laying on their doorstep, unconscious and barely breathing after they had returned back from the grave bidding final goodbye to their son, daughter-in-law and the four year old bundle of joy in a tragic accident. They had to quickly admit the baby and after 48 hours of observation the doctors managed to save the baby from the clutches of death.

For instance they didn't know what to do after that. They couldn't get hold of the infant's parents to call them nor they had heart to leave the little boy in an orphanage. That left them confused but every little thing vanished when the baby Sanskaar gained conscious and giggled holding their fingers in his tightly, that's when they decided to take over the baby for themselves. For Asha and Manoj it felt as if their ceased son has come back to them in another form as blessing, to wipe their tears and give them a reason to survive their remaining life.

But that didn't let them stop from filling a missing report to the police station since they knew the pain of getting seperated from their children but then they heard no word from the police side too. They adopted Sanskaar legally and grew him up showering their endless love and the little boy kid now stood before her claiming he would not let anyone give their places to anyone, not even to his biological parents and it warmed her heart.

"Ah! Girlfriend, I'm sorry I just ended up taking my frustration on you." Sanskaar honestly regretted that. He did understand Asha's plight too but then he just couldn't keep quite at the mention of that heartless people and the yesterday's scene added more fury to him. Asha wiped off her own tears and pulled away from Sanskaar nodding in no.

"Let me comprise it with the ice cream I brought." With that Sanskaar rushed to the kitchen to get them the ice cream while Asha watched him and would only mutter a small prayer to keep her healthy and safe a little longer just because she couldn't let her boy alone. Sanskaar deserved a life filled with endless happiness and joy which she could hardly give him after Aravind's death since the burden fell straight on his growing shoulders but even then Sanskaar took it spontaneously. What a rarest gem his parents has missed!

As he sat in his car, Aditya brushed away the tiny droplets that ran through his chiseled muscles due to the pelting rain that soon was fastening speed for a heavy downpour. Removing his waist coat and throwing it on the back seat, he rolled his damp shirt sleeves up and threw his head back sighing.

It was laughable how she could do anything to him with just those pretty orbs reflecting nothing but sheer innocence. She always managed to get him to another layer of the universe where he would always be able to find a sense of belonging and love he had almost forgotten. Aditya could only wonder how she could see the raw, unfiltered side of his yet be by his side. Even the biggest mountains and greatest skylines don't come close to the view of her peacefully seeking home in him unbothered by the outside world.

Aditya's musing came to a halt when he found his mobile ringing and a wide smile spread on his lips. He was only thinking of her and there she was, already giving the piece of peace he craved for.

"Missed me?" That husky voice was enough to bring out the scarlett tint on her cheeks. Every time he was able to bring out the things she hid, Aditya sure had such a irresistible effect on her. Pavithra softly tucked the strands behind her ears.

"I do but I'm not sure if you did." Aditya left out a small laugh at that comment since he knew that she was pointing out his mobile and laptop. Her lips curved up and sense of warmth spread in her hearing his laughter.

"You are no less, lady gorgeous! You keep books every damn time with you. I'm sure even at the moment you're having a book in your hand." Now it was Pavithra's turn to laugh but then he was right. She did have a book in the other hand and a cup of coffee infront of her. Aditya knew her way too much than she did, "Okay I'm busted." She surrendered and Aditya smirked at that, "You better!"

Pavithra placed the book on the table and taking her mug she walked to her small balcony attached to her room. The rain still seems not to have stopped, it was still drizzling and the breeze seemed to be cold that she wrapped herself with her hands, good thing she used her headsets, "So what are you doing?"

Aditya who had been watching his lady standing by the balcony looking up at the dark sky and playing with those raindrops with a child like smile and sparkling eyes totally got him whipped yet again, "Looking at that most beautiful view and thinking about the alluring thief who got my heart stolen." Pavithra blushed but at the same time gasped at that. Did he just call her a thief?

"Are you sure you didn't steal anything from that alluring thief?" She questioned and Aditya chuckled softly still looking up at his beauty standing with a small pout, "I did manage to and I'm even planning to abducte her sooner for stealing my heart first. Now that's a top secret don't let her know." Pavithra giggled at that and it was eventually enough for Aditya to lift up his robotic mood.

"It's been a week I saw you." She whispered in a low tone and he sighed. The week has been hectic for both of them. Aditya had scheduled meetings to close the contract and a bundle of files to be read and signed to meet up the deadlines. Pavithra would prepare notes for the upcoming classes since the exam was around the corner and she had to hurry up completing the portions. Though they've been in contact through text messages they honestly missed looking at each other face to face.

"I know, let me just come to you." Aditya watched her face glow at the mention. It was one hectic week for him and her and Aditya was already longing to have his woman in his arms but he could definitely not force himself to Pavithra.

"Adi it's late now and you keep working like there's no tomorrow especially when you get deadlines. I'm really worried about your health. You better go to bed, we'll meet up soon." Truth to be told she did and do miss Aditya way too much but then she knew how ignorant he was when it came to himself. He loves prioritising everyone else before him, though it was a good trait Pavithra at times would get irritated of how he never put his self first even at needed circumstances.

"How long had it been that anyone asked me to rest properly and take care of myself first? It's always been you, Swara and Ma--" He abruptly stopped himself from uttering the word and Pavithra eyes softened as she gripped the railing. Aditya shut his eyes closed in frustration, why was he even considering that woman who abandoned him in that list?

"Aditya--"

"Not again sweetheart, please." Aditya sighed and Pavithra shook her head in disbelief. She still don't know how he was able to bare all those bitter incidents and yet do things with perfection. Aditya took a long time open up with her and when he did, he didn't shed tears but the wave of emotions that surfaced in his orbs told her all. No matter what he still does long for his mother and sister yet he wouldn't talk to them.

"You know what's the fault of the entire Gagodias? Lack of conversations. Even great battles can fall apart by conversing together and you guys don't do it at all." She sighed heavily while Aditya said nothing in return. It wasn't like he hadn't tried before and whenever he would try it would rather turn into a chaos or fear of hurting them would make him step back.

Pavithra knew the very silence, it wasn't new for her since whenever the topic would come Aditya just wouldn't muse out his thoughts like he used to do for any other. He was such a tuff nut to crack.

"You look pretty in that pink clothing but that pout doesn't suit you." Aditya was quick to change the topic and the statement left Pavithra bewildered. How does he knows she was wearing a pink nightwear? She quickly looked down to the left and right to spot the man but she couldn't find him.

Aditya stifled his smile. He literally wanted to pull her cheeks for being that adorable with that widened eyes and her mouth turned into a perfect 'o'. He would get a beating for coming here instead of resting even though she would love his suprise visit. And that's why he brought another car which was unknown to her.

"Are you here Aditya?" She asked still eyeing at the street. Apart from three to four cars outside not a single soul was present there, "Yes! right in your heart." Pavithra cringed at that cheesy line.

"Gosh! you're such a tease you know." Nevertheless that pick up line did work on her. Aditya watched a blushing Pavithra through his window panel and hoped to see her happy like that forever.

"Let's sleep. You said you have to leave to school early right?" He asked and Pavithra hummed in acceptance, "And you for the meeting." She said. The fact that they managed to keep up their relationship together even at such busy or terrible circumstances was really a boon for them.

"Oh! By the way make sure to look out from your door before you go to sleep. You might have stalkers." Aditya teased and Pavithra rolled her eyes, "I'm sure my boyfriend would take care of if I have one." Pride and playfulness was evident in her tone but that sentence made Aditya's heart warm yet again when he thought of how much she blindly trusted him.

"He would for sure, no way he would let his beauty have a frown even if that's going to be a small issue." Pavithra already knew that was coming on the way. They way Aditya made him secure and warm truly left her spellbounded at times.

"I already know my personal knight." That made both of them smile, "Good night, Adi." She mumbled. The force of the rain has decreased to a drizzle and Pavithra was super tired that she was sure she could doze the minute when her head hit the mattress.

"Good night, love!" Aditya whispered back and kept his mobile aside after the call got disconnected. He watched Pavithra drink the coffee that has now turned cold in a gulp and take a good breathe in of the petrichor with a smile. Aditya quickly took a snap of Pavithra as a boyish grin spread on his face and started his drive back thinking of how happy she would be after seeing his surprise.

Pavithra walked inside and only then his silly warning to check if there's anyone outside crossed her mind. As much as stupid she felt, she couldn't help but follow that silly instruction. Pavithra opened the door and shook her head in disbelief but then when she tripped on something, Pavithra bent down to take the small basket that contained Night Jasmine.

Her face instantly beamed as she softly touched those small pristine petals and the strong, sweet smell of the flower's fragrant filled her nostrils. He knews she loved night jasmine, Pavithra shook her head as she walked back into her apartment. The rich smell has already made her more relaxed and filled her mind with serene peace.

Aditya-- She was too overwhelmed of how Aditya kept showering her with love and affection she had never felt in her entire life before him. Words can never justify how deep her emotions ran for him. He stood by her firmly even when she feared about this unknown feeling driving her to the directions she never knew. If only Aditya was here near her, she could have definitely pulled him for a tight hug or maybe even would have broken down in his arms.

She once again took the glance of the flowers and only then she found a small card in the heap. Pavithra took the card and caressed that elegant handwriting written in ink. It read,

To the night jasmine who filled my moonless nights and dull days with pure, innocent, rich scent that still lingers on me and just like that the night and days no more seemed a burden to me.

Yours and only,
Aditya

A serene smile spread upon her lips, If he calls her his night jasmine who made his days fragant then he would always remain her Sun who helps her to grow into a flower everyone wants.
