Chapter 5

Uriel arrived at the venue full of angels and descended onto the crispy grass. He skimmed his eyes over the decorated with roses of different types.

The venue was in the Rose Forest. A forest that stretched and covered the entire east of the Alpine Kingdom of the angelic realm, not far from the main kingdom where the king is in.

The theme of the party was white, silver and red. Yes, silver roses did exist in the realm. There were banners, table cloths, cups, etc that accommodated the theme of the party. Lights were strung up on the surrounding trees and musicians played fantastic music by the wooden platform. The music was loud and the young angels were enjoying their time. Glad that they finally graduated and became gaurdians. Angels came from around the entire angelic realm to celebrate this. Approximately six million angels attended the bash and the Rose Forest was the perfect place to accommodate.

Uriel walked towards the dancing crowd and the newly-made-gaurdian angels took notice of him, knowing that he is a royal due to the colour of his wings. They all bowed respectively as he walked by and he acknowledged by giving a short nod and a bright smile..

"Evening, Your Grace." They all said as he passed by. It was hard to not notice a royal member. Angels had wings that were as white as snow, but the royal family's were golden. He then got over to the food area. A hundred large tables filled with delicious meals and snacks. Uriel skimmed around the tables and bit his lip. He loved food.

"Hey! Hey! Hey! Dude! Dude! Dude!" Angelo repeatedly yelled from the humoungous and crowded dance floor, waving his arms wildly. He kept bumping into other angels who gave him annoyed expressions. Uriel was only an hour late for the party and he started to believe that Angelo was already intoxicated. The guy's tolerance of alcohol was quite low.

"I heard you the first time, Angelo." Uriel chuckled and gave him a shoulder bump. The smell of strong alcohol filled the air and Uriel immediately, yup, he's drunk.

"Dude, dude, dude---"

"Yes, Angelo, what is it?" Uriel rolled his eyes, the constant repitition was irritating.

"Liissteenn." Angelo garbled and leaned onto Uriel's shoulder as to be closer to his ear. Uriel tried hard to hold in his laughter.

"I just talked to her. . ." Angelo exaggerated the last word to add mystery.

Uriel cocked a brow, "Who?"

"Heeeerr. . ." Angelo prolonged the word. His breath fanned over Uriel's face causing him to grimace at the terrible smell. Uriel was sure that whoever 'her' was she probably didn't enjoy the conversation considering how his breath smelled like alcohol and sewage

"What's her name, idiot." Uriel poured himself some wine. He decided to stay away from the strong alcohol as his brother warned him to stay sober.

"Angelina. . .you know, my–"

"Your childhood crush? Well look who's balls just dropped," Uriel joked and Angelo gave a proud smirk, "I'm guessing it's the Pearls." Uriel continued and chuckled, taking a sip of wine. The Pearls was a famous alcoholic beverage made and found only in the angelic realm. And it was one hell of a drink alright; half a bottle and your mind would go crazy. Angelo would've never talked to his crush. He's been in love with this angel since they were kids. What's odd was that he wasn't shy around women, he was known as the ultimate playboy back at King's village but for some reason he could never utter a sentence around his love.

Angelo gave a goofy smile, his eyes smiling along too. Uriel finally noticed how flushed his face was, his clothes were very wrinkly and his ginger hair was in a messy heap.

"I'm guessing you two did more than just talk." Uriel winked. Angelo replied with a frantic nod, his hair folloeing like a rabbit with rabbies, and his expression turned dreamy as if reliving a sweet memory.

"It was so goooood~" He squeaked in a singsong way and a hiccup followed afterwards. Uriel bellowed at how hilarious Angelo was.

"Yeah, I bet." He chuckled.

"Uriel." A female voice interrupted and both the men's eyes turned to it. Uriel's eyes widened and his heart skipped a beat. Her hair looked like the finest silk and darker than sin as if she just came out of water, it flowed down, like fluid, to her thin waist. Her skin was so smooth and pale like white chocolate. And her eyes were a light topaz yellow, piercing into Uriel's like the sun.

She was still as beutiful as Uriel could remember.

"Parisa. . ." Uriel gulped. He suddenly became extremely nervous. He was supposed to stay away from her. She was also a gaurdian now so of course she'd be at this event. How did she find him so quickly, he just got here!

Uh, your wings you dummy! Uriel internally facepalmed himself. He was supposed to stay away from her.

Parisa raked her eyes over Uriel's statuesque body, she had no shame checking out the prince, he did grow to look so mighty fine. From a skinny stick to an angel with such power. He had grown so much, becoming the handsome angel he was now. He looked delicious and she bit her lip at the thought of having him. Uriel noticed and gulped.

"How are you? Why didn't you come see me?" She asked, dawdling towards him with poise and fearlessness. Her voice still sent shivers down his spine. He noticed how extravagant she looked in that dress. Already she was making him want her and she hadn't even touched him.

He had to control himself. He couldn't fall for her tricks. No, not again or he'd end up being played and having his heart torn to pieces. Uriel swallowed the lump in his throat and spoke, "Parisa, we aren't together anymore, I–"

"Oh?" Parisa cocked her brow and feigned surprise. Uriel blinked, downright confused. Parisa was close now, craning her neck to look up at him. Uriel could hear his heart in his ears and her intoxicating aroma filled his mostrils. Parisa laid her hand on the expanse of his chest and rubbed it sensually. His breath hitched. . .She always made him feel this way.

He was still in love with her and he despised himself for it.

"You will always be mine, my love. I can feel the way you react to me." She whispered seductively into his ear. Uriel sighed at the feeling of her lips on his ear. He had forgotten that they were in public.

Parisa was not going to let Uriel go. She wanted him badly and no one was ever going to take him away from her. Not even himself. Many angels wanted him to themselves but Parisa made sure to claim him. To show all those thirsty sluts that he was hers.

He was the prince and who wouldn't want the prince? Uriel was slowly feeling his restraints loosen. This was going south. His body said yes, but his mind said no. Who to listen to? He started to care less.

"Get off him, Parisa." Angelo hissed and tried to split them apart. Uriel sighed in relief. He couldn't thank Angelo enough.

"I got you best buddyyy." Angelo assured Uriel, putting an arm over his broad shoulders. Thank heavens.

"Stay out of this you sensate swine." Parisa hissed and Angelo who just stuck his tongue out at her.

"Ugh!" She rolled her eyes and swirled around, her white wings swirling along with her dress. She spread her wings, getting ready to fly off. But before leaving she turned back and glared at Uriel. Uriel stood  back, his eyes to the ground, although he wanted her he knew her true colours. Her real motive for wanting a relationship with him.

But Parisa smirked. A crooked and deadly smirk. It threw Uriel off-gaurd and yet warned him at the same time. Parisa was about to do something and that smirk insinuated it. It gave him goosebumps.

She flew off.

Uriel glanced at Angelo who had the widest smug smile in the world. A smile that screamed i-knew-you-still-liked-her-you-thirsty-horse-now-you-owe-me and I-just-saved-your-life. Uriel put his hand on Angelo's face and pushed it away, grumbling, "Shut up."

"~You still like her, you still like her---"

"I said shut up." Uriel cut him off with a frown. Angelo stopped, he then gave him googly eyes and imitated a teen girl squeak when you find out your best friend has a crush.

"Hurry and get back to your date, man. Your breath's gonna cause me to go into an aneurism." Uriel said. He finished the entire cup of wine in one gulp. He needed it and more. Maybe a few Pearls would do. He needed to relax and stay away from Parisa. So he decided to go dance. He took a bottle of Pearls. It burned down his throat but it was pleasurable.

Uriel threw the glass somewhere on the ground. Disregarding the sound of broken glass, he stomped towards the dance floor like a man on a mission.

After three hours of funky dancing and loud cheering Uriel was beat. This was one of the best feasts he'd ever attended. He chuckled at the whines of the ladies and waved his friends off, grabbing an entire bottle of Pearls once more. He could feel the shivering of his wings and his vision had already gotten whimsy. He should probably get away from the crowd and find somewhere to lay down for a while.

Uriel ascended into the sky and tried very hard to keep his balance. It was a law to never drink and fly but at this point he had forgotten everything. He kept wobbling like a blind bird in the sky till he got towards the Light river ( the longest river of the realm ). It was quiet here, only the calming sounds of rushing waters and the hooting of owls. It was also one of Uriel's favorite places in the realm.

He descended and fell on the ground grunting like an idiot. He cursed and got up and dawdled towards the oak tree. He was wasted out of his mind. But it was a wonder how he got this way. Uriel could drink three bottles of Pearls and not be in this state. His alcohol tolerance was high, so it was odd. How did he get this drunk? He only drank a glass of wine and two Pearls. Did someone spike his drink? But that would be unusual considering that the bottles were untouched.

Uriel sighed and dropped the matter. The whole thought process was giving him a headache. Uriel took deep breaths to try and control his vision that kept blurring, time after time. He took a swig of Pearls and sighed.
He focused on the calm scenery. The river was silent in the starry night. The lanky trees pierced the sky and an owl hooted ominously. The wind breezed gently through his undone hair, not knowing where his rubberband was. He should probably cut his hair. His father argued that it was too long although it was only shoulder-length.

"Hello, my love." Parisa's voice pierced the atmosphere, her voice calm and smooth like chocolate.

Uriel groaned. Again? Why was this angel everywhere? Why couldn't he get away from her?

"Parisa, what do ya' want?" Uriel slurred, taking another gulp. He didn't even turn to look in her direction. His head was starting to throb lightly and he's fingers started to quiver. It wasn't cold so why was he shivering?

What was happening to him?

Parisa wore a crooked smirk and strut towards him. She observed Uriel's sloppy movements as he staggered backwards and she knew exactly what was happening to him. It was her fault of course.

"Arrg. . .my head. . ." Uriel whined and put a hand on his forehead. He began to feel numb. Parisa held onto him so he wouldn't fall. Oh, how glad she was that the magic worked. He was slowly losing himself.

"Uriel, shhh~" She cooed. Uriel was confused, he felt like throwing up. He began to feel weak and his head was spinning like a top. Then a sharp pain went off in his head. Uriel groaned and rubbed his forehead. What in all the realms was going on?

"It's okay baby. Are you feeling pain?" Parisa pouted, trying to sound innocent. Uriel nodded sheepishly. He trudged to the tree nearby and leaned against it, "S-something's wrong. . ." He breathed out.

Parisa felt the excitement rush through her veins. Her plan was working!  "Let me make you feel better." She smirked menacingly.
