Chapter 21

Ladybug's POV

I lazily opened my eyes, looking up to see the worried face of Alya peering down at me.

"Hi." I yawned, I still felt terribly tired and when I tried to sit up I felt the pain in my side spark back to life, my hand immediately shot to my side. "But... I thought I healed that..." I mumbled, clenching my teeth and lying back down as the pain continued to increase.

"I'll get you some ice." Alya stated, quickly going down stairs. I looked up at my ceiling and Tikki flew over to me.

"What do you think is wrong?" I turned to tikki, still holding my hand lightly over my side.

"I really don't know Mari," Tikki sighed, "Lucky charm is supposed to heal everything..."

"Unless..." I thought to myself, "The substance inside of the green drop must have been made before the man was akumatized?" It didn't really make sense to me, but it was the only thing I could think of.

"How would that have worked?" Tikki wondered, still worried, it looked like my injury was more serious than I thought.

I watched as Alya walked back into my room and handed the ice to me. I thanked her and quickly pressed it up against my side, feeling the pain relieve a little.

"Why didn't your lucky charm heal you?" Alya asked the question we all seemed to want to know.

"I don't know..." I replied, once again wondering what strange scheme hawkmoth had come up with, maybe he didn't even intend this outcome.

I rolled over so my good side was pressed against the bed, the pain still throbbed in my side but it was starting to ease off. How I am supposed to explain this to my parents? I wondered worriedly, I couldn't exactly just get up and pretend nothing happened.

"At least this is a weekend." I mumbled to myself.

"Hmm?" I heard Alya ask.

"Nothing."

"Okay... do you need anything else?" Alya asked me.

"I'm okay, thank you." I smiled at her and looked towards my window, I felt sleep tugging at my eyelids and gave in once again, letting myself drift away.

Alya's POV

I watched Marinette as she fell back to sleep again, trying to work out what the effect of whatever had hit her was. One thing was sure, she sure was tired. I was surprised that her lucky charm had healed the outside damage, but whatever had gotten into her had stayed.

"What do you think was in that drop?" I asked her little kwami. I was pretty sure she was just as clueless as me but it didn't hurt to ask.

"No." She sighed as I suspected, but I was still slightly disappointed, this was going to be tough to figure out.

Sorry for the short chapter, I'm sorta at a writer's block. It's not exactly that I can't think of what to write, it's more like I can't think of how to write it. Next chapter will probably be longer. I'm still trying to figure out what exactly happened with Mari so i'm almost as clueless as the characters. I do have an idea of what happened but... ya! It's not really helping me to write this.

Bye bye mon petit papillons.
