CX. Their Wedding Dance
Songs: Amazed by Lonestar, Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran, Kissing in Cars by Pierce the Veil, and I Do by Paul Brandt
Leonardo
"Every time our eyes meet,
This feeling inside me,
Is almost more than I can take.
Baby when you touch me,
I can feel how much you love me,
And it just blows me away.
I've never been this close to anyone or anything.
I can hear your thoughts.
I can see your dreams."
Leonardo holds Destiny close to him, the two of them twirling around in the cool grass beneath the light of the moon. A few other couples have paired off nearby. Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo have each taken their girls and joined in. Eustace Nezbit moves in slow circles, Harry's head on his shoulder. Piper and Madison dance near Timothy and his date, Hazel, while Casey and April move together nearby. Even Murakami dances with Meeko, a content smile on his face.
Destiny and Leonardo don't mind one bit, their focus only on one another.
"I don't know how you do what you do.
I'm so in love with you.
It just keeps getting better.
I wanna spend the rest of my life,
With you by my side.
Forever and ever.
Every little thing that you do.
Baby I'm amazed by you."
He spins her underneath his arm, her dress billowing out around her as she flaps her wings a little. She twirls back into his arms, resting her hand on his shoulder as they twirl around again. He smiles at her, unable to believe that she's finally his. She's his wife, his one and only for the rest of life, till death to them part. It astounds him.
"The smell of your skin.
The taste of your kiss.
The way you whisper in the dark.
Your hair all around me.
Baby you surround me.
You touch every place in my heart.
Oh it feels like the first time every time.
I wanna spend the whole night in your arms."
She rests her head on his shoulder, shutting her eyes as she listens to the music. Her sensitive ears swivel around, taking in every note, every one of Leonardo's breaths, every rustle of the grass, and she loves it. She couldn't ask for a more perfect day, everything feeling like it makes sense.
"Every little thing that you do.
I'm so in love with you.
It just keeps getting better.
I wanna spend the rest of my life,
With you by my side.
Forever and ever.
Every little thing that you do.
Oh, yeah every little thing that you do.
Baby I'm amazed by you."
Destiny smiles lightly as she hears Leonardo humming the words to her under his breath, his breath fanning against her perked ears and making her body tingle with delight. She looks up at him as the final chords of the song fade away, her arms surrounding his neck slowly. He rests on hand on her jaw and pulls her into another sweet kiss. She returns it gladly, not caring for the audience nearby.
Donatello
"When your legs don't work like they used to before,
And I can't sweep you off of your feet.
Will your mouth still remember the taste of my love?
Will your eyes still smile from your cheeks?"
Donatello moves carefully, not wanting to tread on Sarina's toes. She smiles at him, giggling softly at his careful ways. She carefully adjusts his grip and starts leading, the two of them moving together on the secluded rooftop. He can't take his eyes off her, loving the way her eyes illuminate the dusk light. She's wonderful, and she's his.
"And, darling, I will be loving you 'til we're 70.
And, baby, my heart could still fall as hard at 23.
And I'm thinking 'bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways.
Maybe just the touch of a hand.
Well, me—I fall in love with you every single day.
And I just wanna tell you I am.
So, honey, now,
Take me into your loving arms.
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars.
Place your head on my beating heart.
I'm thinking out loud.
Maybe we found love right where we are."
True to the song, she moves closer to him and rests her head against his chest, listening to the gentle thrumming of his heart in her ears. He shuts his eyes, moving with the music gently. The feeling of her body next to his, seeing her in her dress, is one of the most amazing things he could ever witness, in his mind. He loves her so much, and knowing that she feels the same makes him want to fly.
"When my hair's all but gone and my memory fades.
And the crowds don't remember my name.
When my hands don't play the strings the same way.
I know you will still love me the same."
"You're so quiet," she whispers, looking up at her tall husband. "Is everything alright?"
He smiles, leaning down and kissing her gently. "Everything is perfect, my queen."
"'Cause, honey, your soul could never grow old, it's evergreen.
And, baby, your smile's forever in my mind and memory.
I'm thinking 'bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways.
Maybe it's all part of a plan.
Well, I'll just keep on making the same mistakes.
Hoping that you'll understand.
That, baby, now.
Take me into your loving arms.
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars.
Place your head on my beating heart.
Thinking out loud.
Maybe we found love right where we are."
They twirl together, her letting out a laugh as they come back together. The sound resonates among the notes of the song, a few more lines of lyrical beauty to add to the words. Donatello smiles again, tilting his head down to rest his chin on the top of her head. She shuts her eyes as she rests her head beneath his, her arms around his neck as they sway back and forth in harmony.
"So, baby, now.
Take me into your loving arms.
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars.
Oh, darling, place your head on my beating heart.
I'm thinking out loud.
But maybe we found love right where we are."
Bishop watches the couple from the sidelines next to Master Splinter, the Utrom's gaze only on his daughter and the turtle she's chosen to spend her life with. He leans back a little as he crosses his arms, a proud smile resting on his face. It feels like yesterday that he brought her from the hospital, when she was just a curious baby girl with bright blue eyes. As he watches her now, he knows that he did the right thing when he saved her life. He's more than happy for his daughter.
"Oh, baby, we found love right where we are.
And we found love right where we are."
Raphael
"As we wake up in your room,
Your face is the first thing I see.
The first time I've seen love,
And the last I'll ever need."
Raphael moves carefully as him and Taylor dance together. She giggles at his expression, noting that he looks almost as scared as when they went ice-sliding together. He holds her against him, one hand surrounding her much smaller one while the other rests on her waist. Out of all the things he can't believe about tonight, right next to running from the cops and actually being married to Taylor, he can't believe she convinced him to have one of her punk bands sing their wedding song.
"You remind her that your future would be nothing without her.
Never lose her, I'm afraid,
Better think of something good to say.
But it's all been done, more than once so I'll keep on trying,
Oh God don't let me be the only one who says..."
She smiles at him, making his heart race as she teasingly runs her finger along the chip in his plastron. He growls a little, only making her smile grow wider. He makes her smile, something he's shocked by every time it happens. How can a hothead like him make her smile like that? Maybe it's simply because the two of them were stupid enough to fall in love with each other.
"No! At the top of our lungs,
There's no, no such thing as too young,
When second chances won't leave you alone,
Then there's faith in love.
She was always the one.
I'll repeat it again, the one.
No such thing as too young.
Red lights flash in the car we're kissing in.
Call me crazy."
She laughs as he spins her around, falling back into his arms. He holds her there for a second as a tiny smile flickers across his face. He leans down and steals a kiss, pulling her back to her feet as they turn and twirl away together. They nearly bump into Destiny and Leonardo, both couples laughing a little as they part ways again.
"I've always tried to remind her that the future's
Just a few heartbeats away from disaster.
I'm afraid that I've thrown it all away.
No! At the top of our lungs,
There's no, no such thing as too young,
Second chances won't leave you alone.
No at the top of our lungs.
There's no, no such thing as too young.
Second chances won't leave you alone."
He finds himself listening to the lyrics of the song while dancing, astonished by how they relate. He knows that his newlywed wife has always had a gift for music, but this is amazing. The song is hopeful yet sad, just like their relationship has always been.
He smiles again as she presses herself against him, a dreamy smile on her face. He's never been more happy to have given her a second chance.
"We'll repeat it again.
There's no, no such thing as too young.
Second chances won't leave you alone.
'Cause there's faith in...
If you kiss me goodnight,
I'll know, everything is alright.
Second chances won't leave us alone.
Won't leave us alone.
'Cause there's faith in love."
She looks up at him, her hazel eyes meeting his green. Those eyes that have always drawn him in like no other, those wonderful eyes of hers that caught him in her net right from the first day. She laughs softly to herself, as if replaying some memory in her mind, leaning up and pressing her lips to his jaw. He closes his eyes, his dancing automatic as he revels in the feeling of being here right now with his wife.
Michelangelo
"I've seen the storm clouds in your past.
But rest assured 'cause you are safe at home at last.
I rescued you, you rescued me.
And we're right where we should be when we're together.
I know the questions in your mind.
But go ahead and ask me one more time.
You'll find the answer's still the same.
It won't change from day to day.
For worse or better."
Michelangelo surprises Annalise the moment they move out on the clearest spot of the skatepark. The music starts playing and he instantly takes the lead, grasping her hand gently and resting his free one on her waist. He keeps a cheery smile on his face as they twirl away over the concrete, their steps careful.
"Will I promise to be your best friend?
And am I here until the end?
Can I be sure I have been waiting for you?
And did I say my love is true?
Baby I will, I am, I can, I have, I do."
He pulls her closer to him, her head resting perfectly over his shoulder. She rests her chin on it, shutting her eyes as he sways with her, his breaths rhythmic. He doesn't crack any jokes or laugh at random intervals, he only holds her close and hums the song to her under his breath. She smiles, glad to have the orange-masked turtle as her husband.
"I know the time will disappear.
But this love we're building on will always be here.
No way that this is sinking sand.
On this solid rock we'll stand forever."
They spin. He grins as he watches her move, her beautiful golden hair arcing around her in a sort of halo. He used to think that the most beautiful thing in the world was a ninety-nine cheese pizza with extra anchovies and bacon, but she outshines that pizza every day. To him, this woman is the most amazing thing in the world, and she's all his.
"Will I promise to be your best friend?
And am I here until the end?
Can I be sure I have been waiting for you?
And did I say my love is true?
Baby I will, I am, I can, I have, I do."
She laughs as he twirls her once more, pulling her back into his waiting embrace. They move in little circles, his face set in a content smile and his eyes closed. As the music continues, he rests both hands on her hips. She places her hands on his freckled shoulders as they move carefully, the grin on his face showing her that he has something planned for the end of the song.
"Baby I will, I am, I can, I have.
Oh I will, I am, I can, I have.
Baby I will, I am, I can, I have...
I do."
As the end of the song grows nearer, he spins her around more and more. It's not enough for her to get dizzy, and just as the last line comes, he lifts her into the air. He holds her there for a second, the two of them just gazing at one another. Then, as the last two words ring out in the cool air, he lowers her body down and presses a kiss to her lips, his hand resting on the back of her head. She smiles beneath the kiss, and she just knows that tonight will be nightmare free for the first time in a long time.
