CVII. The Wedding - Donatello
"I'm gonna faint...or puke..." Sarina gasps. "I'm gonna fuke?"
"Don't do either! Just get out there and marry the most adorkable turtle in the world!" Destiny grins, her tail wagging like crazy. "I can't believe you're finally gonna be my real sister."
Sarina smiles, encasing the wolf-raven in a hug. "I'm ecstatic as well."
"Agh...these dresses are so pretty!" Annalise gushes, spinning around in hers. "Des, I loved the ones for yours too! So many awesome options!"
The bridesmaid dresses for Sarina and Donatello's wedding are purple and white, respectively. They decided to have it on the rooftop of Murakami's, where everyone is preparing. It'll make the food a whole lot easier.
"Yeah, the dresses are great," Taylor says, deadpan and her face set in a hard frown.
Sarina looks down, feeling suddenly guilty. "Sorry. I would've had bridesmaid jeans and shirts but..."
The ex-gang member laughs, unable to act unhappy. "Gotcha! I'm just happy 'cause you're happy."
"And you're next! Agh, you're gonna look perf!" Annalise squeals, hugging the dark-haired girl.
She rolls her eyes, returning it as she smirks lightly.
"Come on, Sarina. It's time to go," Destiny says.
Sarina nods, draping her veil over her head and taking a deep breath.
---------
"Is everything ready? Is the arch set up? Is Splinter okay with conducting the ceremony?" Donatello rambles.
"We're gonna duct tape your mouth shut soon if you don't quit it," Raphael threatens.
"It's okay to be nervous. It's much easier once you're up there," Leonardo says, pinning a white rose on the lapel of Donnie's tux. "Trust me. All you have to do is focus on her."
Donnie smiles lightly. "Yeah, you're right."
"Dudes! April forgot the music!" Michelangelo cries, rushing into the room.
"WHAT?!" Donnie screeches.
Mikey grins. "I'm just tugging at your shell, bro. It's all good."
Donnie nearly passes out, his face going a shade lighter in complete shock. Raph and Leo steady him carefully and fan his face gently, both of them shooting Mikey a glare. The orange-masked turtle pokes his tongue out at them.
"Come on, man. Time to go," Leo says. "I'll be right beside you the whole time."
"Yeah...yeah..." Donnie pants, inhaling and exhaling rhythmically.
----------
Sarina waits as the other girls take their spots near the floral arch. She shifts nervously from foot to foot, watching the same guests from Leonardo and Destiny's wedding gather. She tenses as she hears someone come up behind her.
She turns around to see Meeko and Raphael shutting the fire escape door leading from the noodle shop. The woman smiles at the cyborg, her pale blue eyes seeming to sparkle with excitement.
"Oh Sarina-San, I'm very excited for you," she gushes, moving from Raph's side and taking her hands in her own. "You look absolutely kireina."
Sarina blushes faintly as Raph smirks, both mutants understanding the Japanese word for "beautiful".
"I thank you, Meeko," she murmurs.
The woman smiles. "I hope you will enjoy the food! Father and I spent much time making the perfect meals!" She giggles sweetly. "Good luck, my dear."
She dashes off to join her father in the small gathered crowd. Raph moves closer to Sarina, crossing his arms as he watches Leo tries to keep Donnie calm and collected at the archway. He smirks a little upon seeing Doctor Rockwell teasingly making flowers float off the arch and land on Donnie's head.
"Hey Sarina," he says, noticing the pale woman's silence.
"Hello Raphael," she returns.
He scratches the back of his neck. "Uh...why'd you want me to walk you down the aisle?"
"Because you're my friend." She smiles.
"But...wouldn't you want Master Splinter to?"
"He's running the ceremony...and besides-" She nudges him a little. "It's good practice for when your little girl gets married."
His eyes widen. "Woah. Taylor and I aren't even married yet. I really don't think we're at the kids conversation yet." He sighs. "Honestly, I think I'll pass on having a little ankle-biter around right now." She laughs, and his face softens into a content smile. "I'm glad to be getting you as a sister though."
"And I'm glad to be gaining a brother."
The music doesn't start quite yet, the two mutants waiting patiently. Sarina's face falls just enough for Raph to notice.
"Hey, you alright?" he asks.
Her eyes flash, her lips twisted in a slightly sad simper. "My father is not here...I didn't expect anything, but perhaps a small part of me hoped that by some miracle he would arrive."
Raph glances over his shoulder, a devious smirk growing on his face. "You sure about that?"
"What? Of course I am! I tend to be very sure in..." She notices his gaze and glances in the same direction, her sentence trailing off.
"Am I late?" Bishop asks, dressed in a different tux than his usual, although his Ray Bans are still present. "I apologize, I had to wear something more appropriate for my daughter's wedding."
Sarina's eyes fill with tears and without a second though, she rushes forwards and hugs her father tightly. He smiles lightly and tilts his face down to her hair, holding her tightly.
"You came...I didn't think..." Sarina whispers, trying not to ruin her makeup with tears.
Bishop chuckles. "I wouldn't miss this for the world. Besides, your friends were very diligent in their search."
He looks up at Raph, who laughs a little and shoves his hands in his tux pockets. Sarina releases her father and looks to the red-masked turtle. She smiles widely, making him roll his eyes a little.
"Hey, us guys wanted you and Don to have the perfect day. This was part of it," he defends. "I'm gonna head over to the altar. See you soon, okay?"
She can't drop the smile from her lips. "Okay."
He turns and heads back to his spot. Bishop holds his arm out to Sarina, allowing her to loop her own through. He gazes at her with deep pride, a gaze she notices rather swiftly.
"Father, are you alright?" she asks softly.
He laughs and leans down, kissing her forehead lightly. "Everything I wanted for your life has become reality, my daughter. I am simply happier than I have been in a while."
The music starts, the Utrom leading his proudest creation out to the aisle.
When she appears, Donatello can hardly contain himself from running to her and pulling her into his arms right there. Right when he thought she couldn't get any more beautiful, she did. Her dress flows around her perfectly, her veil covering her face only slightly. He can still see her smile underneath it. Her hair is piled into an elegant white bun, showing off the darker circuit patterns behind her ears. The silvery patterns all across her arms only add to her elegant persona. For Donnie, seeing Bishop leading her only makes him happier for her. She got one of her wishes.
Bishop hands her over, taking a spot next to April, Casey, and Timothy in the front row. Splinter starts the ceremony, his voice smooth and confident. They say their vows and exchange the rings. Then, Splinter begins the main questions.
"Do you, Hamato Donatello, take Sarina 60184 to be your lawfully wedded wife?" he asks.
"I do," Donnie says proudly.
Splinter nods to his intelligent son before his gaze flickers to Sarina. "And do you, Sarina 60184, take Hamato Donatello to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do," she whispers, a tear appearing in the corner of her eye.
"By the power vested in me, also by the Internet, I pronounce you husband and wife." Splinter smiles at his children with pride in his aging eyes. "You may kiss the bride."
Donnie wastes no time in lifting her veil and scooping her into a long kiss. The crowd whoops, Rockwell starting to shower flowers around them again while Leatherhead and Slash roar out in glee. Pigeon Pete throws breadcrumbs.
Behind Sarina's eyelids, her eyes flash with delight.
