Chapter 5 - Message from who?!

1 week later... Serena's POV
I haven't had any nightmares for the past week. That's a good thing. I hate nightmares. They are the worst! I swear!

And yeah. I have fallen for Prince Ash. It's not really my fault. He's just so supporting and brave and all that. I don't know why.

Me and Ash have also ceased contact with the rebellion. We weren't going to help their battles anymore. We have our own mission. Not only that, it's far to dangerous to help. For them and us.

Again, if we were to be captured, we'd be executed that day in front of our parents, leaving no hope for anyone in Kanto or Kalos.

Greninja got a newspaper yesterday saying that the Ketchum's were being transferred back to Kanto. So after we save my family, Ash will go back to Kanto, alone. with a new hatred.. Because I will be dead.

I can't tell Ash about that vision I had. Because if he were to figure out, and he loves me back, then he'll do anything to protect me. And that might mean abandoning his region.

I was laying under a tree. I was deep in thought, remembering the last time I had a good family moment. The night before it all. A little family dinner that me Braixen, and Sylveon made for everyone.

I sigh as I let my eyes close. I'm safe. I have my Pokémon defending the area. Ash was out running around finding berries or something like that.

As I'm about to drift off to sleep, I hear a Pokémon cry out. It sounds extremely familiar. I don't hear it for another few minutes and I about drift off again. Then I hear it again, and it's much closer.

I instantly sit up and Braixen looks up. There's rustling in the leaves above. Then a monkey Pokémon drops down in front of me. I scream and fall backwards.

I look at the Pokémon and recognize what it is. It's an Infernape. Then I recognize the collar it has. Then it hits me. It's my fathers Infernape!

I see a look of happiness in its eyes. It's known me since I was born, so it's probably happy it found me. I see a note tied to its wrist.

Infernape untied it and hands it to me. After that it hugs me. Wow.... it hasn't done that for a long time.... I guess it really did miss me.

I open the note after he lets go. It's written in nice lettering. He's kept the handwriting after over a year. This note looks like it was written not that long ago. Maybe less than 4 days old. Turns out Calem wrote it...

It reads.... "Serena. It's me, your brother, Calem. I managed to escape somehow. I grabbed Fathers Infernape. If your reading this note, it means your in danger. Again. The King has found a way to control Arceus. He couldn't catch it, but he's controlling it. He's dangerous. If the King really wanted to, he could kill you in an instant with Arceus. I don't think he will though. He has a plan. Meet me at the destroyed town and we can discuss everything. And please bring Prince Ash." I finish reading and Infernape is gone.

Hold on... How does he know Ash has been with me? This is a little fishy now... but Infernape seemed genuine. So maybe he was telling the truth. I can't trust it completely though.

Ash sits next to me and grabs the note from my hand. I honestly didn't mind. He could read it. We had to come up with a solution anyway.

Ash's POV
I finished reading the note. It was something mysterious alright. How could he control Arceus? Most importantly, was this a trap.

"Serena? What are you thinking." I ask

Serena raises an eyebrow. "I say we go." She responds.

"Just like that? It could be..." I start.

"A trap? Yes I know. It very well could be."

"And your just wanting to go?" I ask politely.

"No need to be polite, but yes I do. It could go either way." She responds.

"What do you mean?"

"What I mean is that it could be a Trap, or my brother could actually be there." Serena says with closed eyes.

Heck, she was right! We have to go. It wouldn't be right not to. If her brother actually was there, we'd be able to learn a lot.

I look her in the eyes and I see the determination in them. Honestly, her light blue eyes probably would give her away. She's the only one in the whole region with those blue eyes.

"Alright! You got yourself a deal Princess." I say smiling.

"That's great! When do we start moving?" She asks

"At night. It's the safest. We could get wherever this destroyed town is, quickly on Latios and Latias." I answer gazing back towards her eyes.

I got lost in them. This has happened multiple times. I don't even know why. Her eyes are just so captivating and well, beautiful honestly.

I don't know what it was. It might've been the eyes reminded me of a blue crystal. Or an ocean. They looked to be sparkling in the sunlight. I don't know any other word to describe them, except captivating.

I break out of my thoughts and lay down under the tree. There's no better time to get some rest I guess. We were going to be awake most of tonight, so why not?
