Serena's POV
It's been one year since this all started. Exactly one year. It started June 23rd of last year. Today is June 23rd...when my castle was sieged and my family taken prisoner...

The small fishing village had been abandoned a few months after me and Ash went into exile. None of us knew why, it just happened.

Ash sent his Greninja out every morning to scout and get to Lumiose city for a newspaper. A few months ago there was one stating that we are considered dead.

As I was thinking, Ash sighed, which broke me out of my thoughts. "What is it Ash.?" I ask curiously.

"Oh nothing. Other than the fact that innocent people are being executed in both regions now..." He says sadly.

"I was thinking, since we are both considered dead for months now, why don't we get back to civilization." I say determined.

I don't think anyone would recognize us. I had cut my hair to above my shoulders. Ash let his hair become a little more out of control.

Even if they see our eyes I doubt they will. We haven't been mentioned in months. Much less our eyes.

"Besides. It's about time we make an appearance again." I add to my statement.

Ash looks up and nods. "Alright Princess. Let's head off to Lumiose City." Ash says smirking.

"Ok it's been a year and you still call me that everyday." I say rolling my eyes.

"Yeah. You are a princess aren't you?" Ash smiles as he looks back at the newspaper. His smile fades as he turns the page.

"Ash? What is it?" I ask concerned.

"Our families are to be executed in four weeks..." Ash says quietly.

"What?!" I shout.

"That's right....publicly as well...."

I couldn't believe my ears. That honestly just gives us another reason to come out of hiding. We only had 1 month to rescue our families. But I knew we could do it.

Once we did rescue our families and our regions, I'd have to marry into another royal family. And honestly, I've begun to fall for Ash.

I once met the Berlitz royal family. My father had hoped I'd fall for that boy. What was his name? Lucas. He's to bratty. So he's a no. I forget how long ago that was.

Part of me hoped that Lucas had been one of the princes to try and take back Kalos and Kanto. All that came died. It's not a princess thing to think about, but he tried way to hard to get me to like him, and it was annoying.

Why am I even thinking about this right now!

Ash's POV
Serena looked to be deep in thought. She was right though...it's been far to long. Heck we both even have legendary Pokémon!

They willingly joined us. I now have Yveltal and Latios. Serena has Lunala and Latias. Don't ask me how Lunala got to Kalos. It just appeared along side Yveltal

But Latios and Latias. They came from literally no where. There was thunder then they just dropped right in front of us while we were running from soldiers at the start of our exile.

There was also a news report about half a year ago. It stated that the new king and all high ranking's in his military had one legendary Pokémon each. They were used to strike fear into citizens.

"Ashy...I mean Ash!" Serena yells. It brings me out of my thoughts.

"Yes? What is it princess?" I say smirking again.

"Stop calling me that!" Serena yells puffing her cheeks.

"God, is she cute when she does that! Wait what?!" I shout in my head

"Now cmon. We have to get to Lumiose by nightfall." Serena says sending out Latias.

"On my way princess." I say sending out Latios. Serena sighs. She turns her head towards me and rolls those eyes.

???'s POV
"So. You saw two fast flying Pokémon, heading towards Lumiose City?" I ask.

"Y-Yes my King!" My soldier says quickly. Ah hearing my King.... just makes me feel so accomplished!!"

"Prepare Kyurem, Giratina, and Palkia. I'm going to see if those two brats are alive after all."

"Yes my lord!" The soldier shouts as he runs off.

I get up and grab my hooded cloak. I pull the hood over my head and walk out of the hall. As I approach the courtyard, I hear the cries of my three legendary Pokémon.

"General Cyrus! Commander Archie! Let's go! We are on our way to Lumiose!" I shout at the two.

"Sir!" They both yell. Cyrus let's out Dialga, and Archie let's out Kyogre into a large pool of water. I return Palkia and Giratina.

All three of us get on our Pokémon, and we fly off at the speed of light towards the center of Kalos. In only a few minutes I can see the central city.

Ash's POV
As we fly along above the green forest, I begin to wonder about something. After the entire year, no one knew the new kings name. I really wanted to know who it was.

As we approach Lumiose city, I can see three gigantic Pokémon. After I spot the 3 and point it out to Serena, two more get let out of Pokeballs.

Serena's eyes widen. As she does, all five legendary Pokémon launch attacks on the city. I can hear screams from the citizens.

As we close in at the speed of light, I see a hooded figure, or the new King. I see Serena's eyes fill with tears and stares him down.

"Did this guy do something to her the first night?" I think to myself.

Serena grabs out her master ball and I know there's no way to stop her. So, if you can't beat them, join them! I grab out my master ball.

The five Pokémon charge up more attacks. That's when we both throw our master balls into the air.

"Yveltal! Intercept!" I yell.

"Lunala! Follow his lead!" Serena yells.

They both take off faster than I've ever seen. "Set us down on the roof top!" I shout at Latios and Latias. They both nod. As they both fly over a building me and Serena jump off. Our cloaks are covering our faces.

All four of our Pokémon fire counter attacks, causing a massive explosion above the city. There's no way Braixen, Greninja, Sylveon, or Pikachu can do anything to help.

When the smoke clears, Latias, Latios, Yveltal, and Lunala, are staring down 5 other legendary Pokémon. Kyogre, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, and Kyurem.

I see one of the trainers point at me and Serena and see him talking to the hooded guy.

???'s POV
"Boss? Who are they?" Cyrus asks as he points at the two hooded trainers.

I take a closer look. I see a strand of blonde hair, from the one that appears to be crying. I look at the other and see just the bottom half of his face. There's also a Pikachu next to him

I start smirking. "It looks like the last hopes for these two regions have returned...." I say softly.

"What was that boss?" Archie asks

"Nothing. Let's head home. There's nothing else here for us." I say as my smirk grows.

"Yes....Prince Ash and Princess Serena...You only have one month... tick tock...." I think as we fly off.

I look back one last time to see them return the four legendary Pokémon they have possession of.....

Yes, I know. Three chapters already! I'm sorry, I just wanted to get this story rolling!
