Oneshot

"Link, I left your food here. Please take it."

The hero heard his friend's voice through the door of his room. He heard the soft noise of a tray hit the ground, then some footsteps walk away. The boy waited until Zelda left the area before pulling his body out of bed. He hissed in pain as he stood up and looked into a mirror. His eyes and cheeks were pink from crying some time before. There were a couple of scratches on his face and body from the battle with Demise just days earlier. He placed his hand on the scratches and bruises on his face and winced in pain. He would eventually have to go out into town to buy another healing potion. Or he can just wait until he heals.

He turned away from the mirror and walked over to the door. He opened it a crack and looked down at his food. It was some kind of sandwich and water. A ham sandwich most likely. Plain and boring. Just like my life. Link picked up the tray before shutting and locking the door. He placed the tray on his clothes dresser and crawled back into his bed.
"Why..?"

The former hero didn't realize his eyes were slowly closing. He fell back into a sleep.

The sun was down in Skyloft and it was starting to get a little chilly. It was peaceful and the sounds of some crickets with the occasional keese can be heard. The aroma of pumpkin soup and other dinners filled the town.

Everyone has returned to their normal lives. Including Zelda.

The fallen villain appeared in the hero's messy room. He looked the same except he had a large red stain on his chest. His skin was almost white and was slightly glowing. He still looked as graceful as ever.

Ghirahim appeared every night, watching and making sure his lover was safe, happy and healthy.
Ghirahim looked over to the tray of food and saw the few bites taken from the sandwich. He sighed. "You need to do get out and do more. Please.. You need to get over my death." His voice sounded sad and desperate. How long has it been since Demise lost the battle? How long has it been since everyone went back to their normal lives? How long has he been watching over Link? Ghirahim forgot all sense of time. He rid himself of that thought and looked at his lover, who was sleeping on his side. It was soft and barely audible, but Ghirahim was sure he could hear Link whimpering. There was a small wet spot on the bed sheets next to Link's eye, and his eyes and cheeks were wet from tears.

The demon lord sighed and got up. He searched around the room for a towel or handkerchief to wipe away Link's tears. He found a cloth under some clothes and picked it up. He smiled and dabbed it under his eyes without waking the boy up. "There.." He muttered as he sat on the side of Link's bed.

Ghirahim felt like he had one thing to do; which is watching over Link until he is okay. He felt that his spirit would not rest until that happens. He, of course didn't mind watching over Link. Truthfully, he was afraid of where he would be going once the time was over. "Heh, only Hylia knows the place I'll be going to.." Ghirahim chuckled as he moved his hand closer to the hero. "Until then, I'll keep watching over you..."

He stroked his hand through the hero's dirty blond hair. "Nnh--?" Link moved into his back and slowly opened his eyes. Ghirahim frowned a bit. He moved his head up and looked at Ghirahim's spirit. His eyes widened. Ghirahim could tell he was surprised. Who wouldn't be surprised if they saw the ghost of their lover? Either that or they are seeing things. The demon made a small smile. "It's okay, Skychild."
Link happily grinned and threw himself onto Ghirahim and wrapped his arms around him. Ghirahim fell backward and hit the pillow. Link dug his head into the demon's chest. "Aren't you scared of me?" Ghirahim questioned. He could feel the hero shake his head. "Don't leave me..." Link quietly whispered. "P-Please.."

"I won't." Ghirahim said as he kissed the other's head. The next thing Ghirahim knew was that the hero fell asleep in his arms. He moved Link slightly so that he was more comfortable. His shallow breathing told Ghirahim that he was already in a deep sleep. The demon smiled. "They didn't lie when they said you love to sleep."

I wish... our fates were different. I wish we could have met under different circumstances.

When Link woke up, he could see the rays of sunshine in his room. He pulled his body up and looked around as he rubbed his eyes. "Ghira....him?" He asked. There was no sign of Ghirahim anywhere. Link rubbed his hand on the sheet next to him. It was warm as if another person was there minutes before. He smiled a bit once he realized that he actually did see his lover. He got out of his bed.

He noticed something on the ground. It looked like some piece of clothing. Link picked it up. It was Ghirahim's cape. Link fell to the ground on his knees and hugged it.

May we meet again in another time.. Link...

A/N: I've been wanting to write Ghiralink for years now, but been nervous to. I hope to make an actual fanfic soon, so yeah. I hope you liked this oneshot and hope to read the possible fanfic!
(It's probably going to have a lot of pain and suffering)
A/N2: I have started a GhiraLink fanfic, and as I promised, it's going to have pain and suffering.
