Wedding Photos
"Can we look through you and dad's wedding photos?" Ruby asked randomly as she sat across from Tyler at dinner.
"You've never seen them??" Tyler asked surprisedly.
Ruby shook her head. "Nope. That's what made me want to see them, though. I realized I never had."
Tyler quickly nodded. "They're the cutest things ever, so just prepare yourself."
Ruby laughed, nodding her head.
"I'm serious," Tyler warned her. "You might cry. I cry every time."
"You cry at everything that has to do with dad," Ruby replied.
"Because I like him a whole lot!"
Ruby laughed. "Oh, trust me. We know."
Josh was working late tonight, as he owned his own company and was hard at work because it was his busy season.
"How 'bout we grab some ice cream," Tyler suggested.
"Never against ice cream," the 16 year old replied.
So she went to the freezer and grabbed a pint of chocolate and two spoons, returning to the living room to see her dad with two large photo albums.
"Okay, so," Tyler smiled. "This one is all of our wedding day photos, and this one is all of our honeymoon photos."
Ruby nodded. "Should we put on comfier clothes?"
"You're soooooo my daughter," Tyler laughed.
Tyler loved being comfortable at all times, and he noticed that in the years the boys spent raising Ruby, she was the same way.
So they both put on sweatpants and t-shirts, returning and getting started.
Tyler took a deep breath, opening the wedding album with a wide smile.
The first photo was Josh and Tyler kissing in their suits, holding up a wooden sign that had calligraphy reading 'Mr. & Mr. Dun' written beautifully across it.
"Awwww," Ruby smiled. "That's so cute."
Tyler grinned widely, nodding his head in agreement. "That's the sign that J and I have hanging in our bathroom."
"Ohhhhh. I thought it looked familiar."
They flipped to the next page, it having photos of just him getting ready. In the last one, he was reading a note with he widest smile, a tear rolling down his cheek.
"What was that?" Ruby asked, pointing to the note.
Tyler flipped to the back of the album to the pocket that was in it and pulled out a piece of paper, handing it to Ruby.
Tyler,
I cannot believe I'm actually about to marry you. It's so surreal. After five years of being together, you're finally going to become Mr. Dun.
I know that you're stressing out right now. I know that you're worried about how you look. I know that you're worried something's going to go wrong. So take a deep breath for me, baby. Take a deep breath and let it all go. Because I assure you, you look stunning. And I promise you, nothing's going to go wrong.
I've been in love with you for five years now. Since the day I met you, I knew you were the one. I knew that you had to be my husband someday.
And guess what? Here we are! On our wedding day!
I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you. So here's a list of everything that'll fit on this page of what I'm ecstatic to do with you.
-sleep in the same bed, every night, all snuggled up because you keep the air so cold at night
-hold your hand and feel your wedding and engagement rings against my skin
-make dinner for you when you get home from work
-build pillow forts in our living room with you
-makin' love with you (obviously)
-calling you Mr. Dun every morning when I wake you up
-calling you Mr. Dun every night when I snuggle you to sleep
-laughing with you at our goofy moments
-crying with you when we face hard times
-slow dancing with you to old records on the porch
-living the rest of my life with you
I love you so much, Tyler. Words cannot describe how beautiful you are, inside and out.
I'll see you (and marry you!) real soon, okay, my love?
Can't wait to see you walk down that aisle.
All of the stars,
Josh
"That's the cutest thing I've ever read!!" Ruby exclaimed.
"Yeah," Tyler smiled softly. "He's a real romantic. I love him so much."
Ruby smiled. Her dads had always set the perfect example of how a relationship should be. "You guys still slow dance to records on the porch."
Tyler nodded. "Every Friday night. I love him so much, Ruby. Oh my goodness. You don't even know."
Ruby laughed. Tyler could sometimes act just like her friends when they were raving about a boy they had a crush on. "I know, dad. I know you love him. And he loves you back just as much. Maybe even more."
"I don't think that's possible," Tyler said. "I miss him so much. He's not home as much when it's his busy season so I don't get as many hugs. It's sad."
"Awww, dad," Ruby said, wrapping her arms around him. "You can always hug me."
"I know, baby, I know," Tyler replied, hugging her back. "That's why you're the best daughter ever. When I was 16 I would never let my parents hug me."
"Well," Ruby shrugged. "I'm always here for you to hug. But I know I'm not the same as dad. Especially because he's like 6'2" and I'm shorter than you."
Tyler laughed. "Yeah, he is pretty tall. But that doesn't matter. Let's keep looking at the pictures."
So Ruby and Tyler continued looking at the wedding photos, and at the last page he heard the door open.
He sprung up and ran to the door, jumping into Josh's arms.
"Hi Joshie!!" He exclaimed with the widest of smiles, kissing all over his husband's face.
"Hey, baby," Josh grinned, holding Tyler and kissing his lips. "What's up?"
"Ruby and I are looking through our wedding pictures," Tyler said, still hugging Josh tightly.
"Oooooh, I wanna join," he replied. "Let me go put on comfier clothes."
Tyler nodded, hopping down and holding Josh's hand, walking with him to the living room where Ruby sat.
"Hey, sweetheart," Josh grinned, leaning over the back of the couch to hug Ruby.
"Hi dad," Ruby smiled, placing her arms over his.
"How was your day?" Josh asked her.
"It was okay," Ruby answered. "Dad and I are looking through your wedding photos."
"So I hear," Josh replied. "I'm gonna join you guys as soon as I get changed."
Josh headed to his and Tyler's room, whistling. Tyler sat on the couch, smiling widely now that his husband was home.
"You can go hug him some more, dad," Ruby laughed. "You don't have to stay here with me."
"You're the best, Ruby," he grinned, kissing her temple then running to his and Josh's room, tackling Josh in a big hug and kissing his lips deeply.
"Hey, baby," Josh grinned, wrapping his arms around Tyler's waist, pressing their foreheads together.
"Hi," Tyler hummed with a goofy grin.
"I love youuu," Josh smiled, knowing Tyler probably wanted to hear it.
"I love you moreee," Tyler replies with a smile, kissing Josh's lips again. "Happy Friday."
"Oh, yay! I forgot it was porch dancing night!" Josh exclaimed.
"Mhm," Tyler hummed with a nod.
"Well let's go look at some of the pictures with Ruby," Josh said. "We haven't seen them in a while."
Tyler nodded, starting out the door before turning around. "Can I get a kiss first?" He asked with puppy eyes.
Josh laughed, wrapping his arms around his husband and kissing his lips deeply. "Plus it's porch night. You know that means we'll be doin' a whooooole lot more of that."
Tyler grinned, hugging Josh tightly. "I love you, Joshie."
"I love you more, baby."
So the boys returned to the living room, going through the honeymoon album with Ruby.
And everything was going great until about halfway in.
"O-oh my god," Tyler said, wide eyes, quickly shutting the album.
"What??" Ruby asked.
"What?" Josh said curiously.
Tyler looked at Josh with wide eyes, it clicking in his head.
"Ohhhhhh," Josh said. "I forgot we put those in there."
"Put what in there?" Ruby asked.
"Nothing," Tyler quickly replied.
"We had a lil fun, y'know," Josh said. "So we ended up taking pictures after s-"
"Joshua William Dun!" Tyler exclaimed.
Josh snickered, always thinking it was hilarious when he embarrassed Tyler.
Ruby giggled, patting Tyler's back. "It's okay, dad. I'm plenty aware you two had sex on your honeymoon."
Tyler blushed deeply, Josh still laughing.
"Okay, that's enough of that," Tyler said, taking the albums back to his and Josh's room. "So, now you've seen our wedding photos," he said as he came back into the living room, plopping down on the couch.
"Yayyy," Ruby smiled softly. "They were really sweet."
"They were, weren't they?" Josh grinned, looking at his husband as he wrapped his arm around him.
Tyler smiled, looking up at Josh. He got lost in his chocolate brown eyes for the millionth time.
"Well, I know it's Friday," Ruby said. "And I know that it's porch dancing night, and that you two haven't gotten much time together lately, so I'm actually going to spend the night at Lacey's house."
"Awww, honey, you don't need to," Tyler said. "Stay here. We can have family movie night or something."
"No, no, it's okay," Ruby assured him with a smile. "You two have like... a mini date night or something."
"You're the best daughter in the whole world," Tyler said. "You know that, right?"
Ruby laughed and nodded. "You let me know that on the daily, yes."
Josh smiled, hugging Ruby tightly and kissing her forehead. "How 'bout you and me go out for lunch tomorrow? We haven't had a Ruby-Josh meal in forever."
Ruby smiled and nodded. "That sounds great, dad."
So Ruby packed a bag and hugged the boys goodbye before getting in her car and driving to Lacey's.
"So," Josh said with a grin, wrapping his arms around his husband from behind. "What do you wanna do, beautiful?"
"I've got a whole list," Tyler grinned.
First the boys headed out to the porch, putting on some old records and swaying back and forth under the moonlight.
Tyler looked up at Josh, who pressed their foreheads together as he caressed Tyler's hips.
"I'm so in love with you," Josh said softly.
Tyler kissed Josh's lips. "I'm more in love with you."
"Impossible," Josh replied gently. "Simply impossible."
After their dancing, the boys headed inside. Josh twirled his husband around until they crashed onto the couch, Tyler lying down on it with Josh on top of him.
"This makes me think of high school," Tyler giggled.
"First time we ever took a nap together was on your couch," Josh laughed. "And we ended up making out on it once we woke up. Maybe we should relive it, hm?"
"I think we should," Tyler smiled, pulling his husband's lips towards his by tugging at his t-shirt.
So after making out on the couch for several minutes, they made their way to the bathroom for their first shower together in a long, long time.
And, of course, being naked in a closed space led to the boys quickly getting out and heading to their bed, getting comfy and making love, it being just as sweet, romantic, and meaningful as the first time.
Afterward they snuggled up together in bed, Tyler lying on top of his husband, their bellies pressed together.
"I just wanna know how you've managed to keep those abs for all these years," Tyler giggled.
"Hey, if it turns the hubby on, better keep 'em around," Josh grinned.
Tyler giggled and blushed, kissing Josh's lips deeply. "I love you so much, Joshua. You're the most amazing husband in the world."
Josh grinned, kissing Tyler back just as deep. "I love you more, baby. You're the best husband in the world."

The boys didn't wake up until 2pm the next day. And when they did, it was to Ruby bringing them breakfast.
"Wake up, sleepy heads," she laughed as she brought in a tray of waffles, bacon, and orange juice. "It's 2 o'clock."
"What?!" Tyler exclaimed.
"Guess all that makin' out and makin' love really tired us out, hm?" Josh hummed sleepily, pulling his husband who was already right beside him even closer to him.
"Joshua, our kid is right there."
"Oh," Josh said, opening his eyes to see Ruby. "Oops."
Ruby rolled her eyes and laughed, setting the tray at the end of the bed.
"See?" Josh said, gesturing to the tray. "Best daughter in the freakin' world. She lets us have date night, she brings us breakfast when we're too lazy to get out of bed. How'd we get so lucky, Ty?"
"I dunno," Tyler replied. "I got the best family in the world."
