Needy
(hello, everyone😉)
Tyler sighed as he sat on the couch with his best friend, Jenna. "I just... I don't know, Jen," he said. "I just feel like I'm not one of his top priorities."
"Then you need to let him know," Jenna told him. "You should be his top priority."
"Should I, though?"
"Yes!" She exclaimed. "You two are dating! You should always feel loved and cared for."
"But I do," Tyler answered.
"You should also feel like he wants to spend time with you," Jenna said.
Tyler sighed, playing with his fingers.
"Especially now that it's summer and you guys won't get to see each other every day because there's no school," she continued.
"A-and I'm frustrated because I told him that the other night. I told him that I was upset that it was summer because I wouldn't be able to see him as much and he said we would see each other more because he wouldn't have practice as much," Tyler said. "But it's been a week and he's texted me twice. That's it."
"You need to tell him," Jenna advised.
"But I don't want to sound needy," he explained. "I don't want to seem like I'm always in need of his attention."
"You barely get any of his attention!" Jenna exclaimed. "You deserve so much more. You wanting your boyfriend to actually talk to you isn't being needy. It's showing that you truly do love him because you value your connection."
Tyler sat quietly for a moment. "Okay..." he eventually said. "I'll talk to him."

Two weeks later, the boys were finally together again. They were at Josh's home watching a movie.
Tyler opened his Snapchat account when Josh had his arm around him. "Hold on," he said. "Why am I not on your best friends list?"
"Because you never snapchat me," Tyler replied. "I talk to all of our friends way more than I talk to you because you only snap me twice a day."
"Still," Josh said.
"Well when all I get is a black screen twice a day, obviously you're not going to be that high on the list," Tyler said. "And it honestly kind of makes me feel like shit that you don't answer my texts and respond to my snapchats five hours after I send them just with a black screen."
"Aw, babe," Josh said, shifting so he was facing Tyler a bit more. "It's just because I'm busy. I don't mean to make you feel bad."
"That's the thing," Tyler said. "You're not busy. You're literally playing video games all day whenever you don't have practice. You don't go to things we do with our friends because you have practice or you claim you're too tired, and when you do, you say "I'm just going for the food." not because your boyfriend who does everything in his power to apologize to everyone on behalf of you for you either not showing up or showing up and falling asleep at 8:30 will be there. And whenever I text you asking if we can do something you don't respond until five hours later. And you don't even say that you wish you could. You just say 'nope. I have practice. Sorry.' And it really hurts. Because I know that Athletics is a higher priority than me, okay? I knew that that would happen going into this relationship, but I at least expected you to try to act like I'm a tiny bit of a priority in your life."
"Baby," Josh said, taking Tyler's hand. "I'm so sorry. I'm so, so sorry. I didn't know I was making you feel like that. I promise you're the most important thing in my life."
"You don't have to lie, Joshie," Tyler said softly. "I know that Athletics comes above everything else, ok? And I've gotten used to it. It's just when you're not doing sports and you're constantly choosing other things over me. You're allowed to be a normal teenage guy and play video games and sit around all day, it's just whenever that's all that you do when you're not at practice and your boyfriend is constantly missing you because he loves you so much."
Josh sighed, his nose and forehead resting against Tyler's cheek. "I'm so sorry, baby." He kissed his cheek. "I really, really am. I wish you would have said something sooner."
"I didn't know how," Tyler replied. "I didn't want to sound needy."
"You don't sound needy at all," Josh told him. "You sound like a sweet boy trying to get his boyfriend who's been sucking at being a good boyfriend lately to finally get his priorities straight."
Tyler looked up at him, kissing his lips.
"I promise I'm going to start putting you at the top of my list," Josh said. "I'm gonna take you on dates and I'm gonna kiss you and snuggle you and hug you so much, you have no idea."
Tyler smiled shyly, blushing softly.
"Starting right now," Josh grinned, pulling his sweet boyfriend on top of him.

Tyler furrowed his eyebrows as he heard the doorbell ring two days later. His parents weren't home, so he went to go check the door.
He opened it to find Josh standing there with a bouquet of flowers and all of Tyler's favorite snacks.
"Hello, my dear," Josh smiled.
"H-hi," Tyler smiled shyly. "W-what's this for?"
"Snuggle night," Josh grinned.
Tyler giggled, opening the door wider. Josh followed him inside, handing him his flowers.
"Awww, Joshua. They're gorgeous," he smiled.
"Only the greatest for my boy," Josh grinned, kissing the shorter boy's lips.
So the boys curled up together on the couch in Tyler's media room, it ending up just being them making out with a movie playing in the background instead of their planned date of snuggling at watching a movie.
Tyler giggled as Josh's hand moved over his butt, Josh pulling back with a wide grin. "You're so cute."
Tyler blushed deeper, making Josh's smile widen. "I love you so much. And I've missed you dearly."
"I've missed you more," Tyler replied. "Now start kissin' me again, Joshua," he giggled. "It's been three weeks."
