The Notebook

Josh and Tyler had a notebook in the kitchen.

It was always open, and every day, the boys would write something to the other.

It didn't matter what the circumstance was. If they were fighting, they wrote. If they were sick, they wrote. If they were having a bad day, they wrote.

Some examples include:

You look ravishing today, Tyler.

Every morning I'm shocked that I get to wake up to someone so handsome, Joshua.

I am lost without you, Tyler Joseph. Completely lost without you.

Every night, you take my heart again and again and again, Joshua Dun. Only you could get away with such a crime.

They loved their notebook. It was an amazing part in their relationship that forced them to come back and remember why they truly were together each and every day.

One day, Tyler went to write his note in the book when he saw Josh had already written his.

Meet me on the patio, love?

Tyler then turned and went to the patio, seeing Josh there with a wide smile, rose petals and candles all around.

"H-hi, Joshua," Tyler said in shock.

"Hi honey," Josh smiled.

He stepped forward and took both Tyler's hands. They swayed back and forth together to the music softly playing before Josh lowered himself down to one knee.

"Josh," Tyler gasped with a wide smile, his hands covering his mouth.

Josh smiled up at him. "I love you."

"Joshua..."

"I love you so much, Tyler Robert Joseph. So much that it physically hurts not being engaged to marry you. I was planning on doing this in a few months, if I'm being honest, but I can't wait. I just can't wait," he said. "You're the best thing that's ever happened to me, and I want you to know that you are my purpose in life. Serving you and making you feel happy and loved is my purpose. And I will do whatever it takes to make you feel loved. Because you are loved, Tyler. You are so, incredibly loved."

"And with that being said," he smiled softly, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a box. "Tyler Robert Joseph, will you marry me?"

"Y-YES!" Tyler yelled with the widest smile Josh has ever seen, hugging his neck tightly in excitement.

Josh grinned and slid the ring onto his finger before their lips collided. "Joshua," Tyler cried, the smile on his face refusing to fade. "Joshua..."

Josh smiled and picked him up, spinning him around in his arms.

"I love you so much," Josh smiled, kissing Tyler's forehead.

"I love you more," Tyler replied, kissing Josh's lips. "O-oh, my gosh, Joshua, we're engaged!"

"I know!" Josh grinned.

The boys went inside and called their loved ones, unable to stop smiling.

They went to their bedroom and snuggled up. Josh fell asleep, Tyler about to as well until he remembered he hadn't written in the notebook today.

He got up and grabbed a pen.

Joshua William Dun, I'm going to marry you. I'm actually going to frickin' marry you. You're gonna be my husband and I'm gonna be your husband and we'd gonna have the best life ever. We already do have the best life ever. I love you so, so much, Josh. and I hope that even when we're married, even when we're old, we still do this notebook. I love you and everything about you. This truly is the best day of my life. I cannot wait to marry you.

He kissed the paper before returning to the bedroom, crawling under the covers and snuggling up with Josh.

The taller boy woke up. "Ty?"

"H-hey, Joshie," he smiled softly. "I just had to run to the bathroom, that's all. Get some more sleep."

Josh yawned and nodded, kissing Tyler's forehead before telling him he loved him and falling back asleep.

Soon, Tyler entered the same dream land, reliving the proposal over and over and over again.
