Family Dinner
"Do you know what I just realized?" Josh asked.
"Hm?" Tyler hummed, looking out the car window at all the lights. He did that often.
"We're the stereotypical gay uncles of your family."
"Well... yeah, actually, I guess that's true."
"I mean, we're gay, we wear skinny jeans, we're the nieces' and nephews' favorites, we don't know have our own kids so we spoil them."
"And we partake in PDA maybe a bit too much," Tyler said. "But I'm perfectly fine with that."
"Hey, it's not my fault I've gotta hold your hand all the time so you don't go sit at the kids table during dinner."
"I like the kids table!" Tyler exclaimed. "My mom always puts crayons over there! Zack and Maddy and Jay and my parents always just talk about taxes! Coloring or taxes, Josh? Which sounds more pleasurable?"
Josh laughed and kissed Tyler's hand. "I'd let you sit at the kids' table if I could with you, but I don't think I could fit in one of those chairs."
"You can deal with taxes and I'll color with the children."
"Whatever, Ty."

They finally arrived at the Joseph home, Tyler carrying in a tray of asparagus and a plate of brownies.
"Tyler! Josh!" Kelly exclaimed, rubbing up to them and hugging them tightly.
"Hi momma," Tyler said.
"Hi Kelly," Josh grinned, hugging her back.
"Uncle TyTy! Uncle JishJish!" Ruby exclaimed, three other children soon following behind her.
Both boys smiled widely, getting down on the floor so they could hug their three nieces and two nephews and say hi.
"Hi TyTy! Hi JishJish!" Charlotte smiled, hugging them both before plopping down in Tyler's lap.
"TYTYYYYYY! JISHJISHHHHHH!" Augustus yelled, running into both of them before taking a seat in Josh's lap.
"Move over, Gus Gus!" Hazel giggled, kissing Tyler's cheek before doing the same to Josh and sitting in his lap.
"Where's your brother, RuRu?" Tyler asked the girl who had joined Charlotte in sitting in his lap.
"Ford is with mommy," Ruby said. "He's eatin'."
Tyler giggled at the girl's pronunciation of 'eating,' kissing both girls who were in his laps' heads. "Well I missed you all sooooooooooo much."
"So did I," Josh said, giggling as he lied back onto the ground with two of the babies sitting on his belly. "We're gonna have to have a sleepover again soon."
Since Tyler and Josh didn't have kids of their own, they often had their nieces and nephews over. Even though they typically didn't get to have them all over at once, they tried at least once every few months so have a sleepover at their house with all of them.
It was a lot to handle, but it was always really fun. And the kids were very well behaved, too. It was just a matter of feeding them all and coming up with things to do.
Maddy, Tyler's sister, had two kids: Ruby, who was 5 and Augustus, who was 2
Zack, Tyler's brother, had two kids: Hazel, who was 4 and Ford who was six months.
And Jay, Tyler's youngest brother, had just found out he and his wife were expecting twins.
"We've gotta go say hi to the rest of the family," Tyler said. "We'll be right back."
Josh and Tyler headed to the kitchen to say hi to everyone. Tyler felt he hadn't seen his siblings in forever. They talked for a while before it was time for dinner, all the nieces and nephews begging Tyler and Josh to sit at the kids table with them.
"Tyler and Josh are gonna sit at the adult table today, guys," Kelly told her grandchildren softly. "But I bet they'll watch a movie with you after."
"Mom, can I sit at the kids' table?" Tyler asked.
"You're 28."
"I'm a kid at heart."
"That is very true," Josh deadpanned as he walked by, stuffing a roll in his mouth.
"Joshua William Dun!" Tyler exclaimed.
It was pretty much a husband and wife relationship for Tyler and Josh, just they were both husbands.
Josh just tended to be the one doing stupid goofy stuff and Tyler just tended to be the one saying his full name in fake disappointment while trying to hold back laughter.
Josh shrugged, sitting down at the table. "Hey, babe, can you pass me another roll?"
"You have two working legs, don't you?" Tyler replied.
"Yeah, but you don't after I- ok, there are kids here. If there weren't kids here, you know what I'd say."
Tyler stuck his tongue out at his husband, grabbing a roll and tossing it at josh.
"Thanks, babe," Josh grinned, stuffing it in his mouth. "You're the best."
"Can I pleeeeeease sit at the kids' table?" Tyler begged to his mom.
"Honey," she sighed.
"Fineeeeeee," Tyler groaned.
He grabbed his plate and sat down next to Josh at the table, slipping his arm into his husband's and holding it tightly as they ate.
All his siblings talked about boring stuff, like financial things and insurance. He wanted to be eating with the kids. They were way more fun. They always colored, they talked about cats, Gus would sit in his lap cause he was the only nephew that could sit up on his own.
It was just more fun.
But, luckily, soon enough, everyone had finished eating and Tyler could go be with his nieces and nephews.
Everyone else stayed at the adult table, though.
"So, Josh," Chris, Tyler's dad said. "Have you guys thought about adopting? Tyler sure is acting like he wants kids."
"We've thought about it, yeah," Josh said. "But I think we want more time to just be married. Kids would be great, but we like being able to just be with each other whenever we want."
"Then you definitely don't want kids," Tatum, Zack's wife, said.
Everyone laughed, and Josh nodded. "Yeah, I think we're gonna wait a couple years."
"Well you can take care of ours anytime you want," Maddy said, Will, her husband, nodding. "You always do amazing with them."
They then heard squealing coming from the other room, all of them looking to see Tyler being attacked in hugs by all his nieces and nephews.
Josh smiled softly at the sight. "He's the one who does all the work with them."
Tyler and Josh ended up watching a movie with the kids, all of the kids falling asleep one by one.
They hugged everyone goodbye before they headed home, changing clothes, brushing their teeth, and crawling into bed.
"Do you want kids, Ty?"
"Eventually, Yes. Why?"
"Because you're like... amazing with the nieces and nephews. And you always get so excited with them."
"Yeah, but if we had kids, we wouldn't be able to do this all the time," Tyler grinned, rolling over so he was on top of his husband, beginning to leave love bites on his neck as he slid his hands up Josh's shirt.
"I love you," Josh grinned.
"I love you too," Tyler smiled, kissing Josh's lips softly. "You want me to continue or just go to sleep?"
"Please continue, Love."
