Car Accident

"Tyler..." Josh groaned. "Tyler... Tyler, are you okay?"

He heard no response.

He opened his eyes, his breath hitching. "Ty-... t-tyler..."

His husband was covered in blood, his mouth open. He didn't look like he was breathing."

"T-Tyler... t-tyler, p-please. P-please say something, Ty. B-baby, please..."

Soon, he faded back out of consciousness.

He woke up in the hospital.

"T-Tyler..." he said as soon as he came to. "T-Tyler... where's my tyler?"

"Do you know who you are?" The nurse asked.

"J-Joshua Dun. W-where's T-Tyler Dun?"

"Do you know where you are?"

"H-hospital. W-where is Tyler Dun?"

"We can't disclose any medical information about other patients."

"H-husband. T-Tyler is m-my husband. W-where is he?"

"He's your husband?"

"Y-yes."

"You're currently on bed rest. You have a major concussion and two broken ribs. I'm looking at his reports right now, and it appears he has a concussion as well, six broken ribs, a broken leg, major cuts and scratches, and internal bleeding."

"T-Tyler!" He said, his eyes filling with tears. "S-save m-my tyler!"

"He's alright, Mr. Dun. He's just a few rooms down. The doctors and I are taking real good care of him. You can go see him in a week."

"I-I need Tyler!"

"You can see him in a week, Mr. Dun. But until then, you cannot get out of bed."

"P-please," Josh pleaded. "I-I need to h-hold my Tyler."

"He still hasn't woken up yet, Mr. Dun. I will be sure to alert you when he does. As soon as he does, I promise. But for your health, you have to stay in here."

Late that night, Josh couldn't take it anymore. He had to be with his husband.

He took his IV out, slowly making his way to the door, trying his best to contain his screams of pain. He wandered down the hall until he found the other room with 'Dun' written on the board outside of it.

Luckily, no nurses were around.

He entered, gasping as he saw his husband looking so awful.

"T-Tyler..." he said, going to the bed. "M-my tyler..."

He crawled into the bed next to him, holding him in his arms.

"W-wake up, m-my Tyler."

He fell asleep as he held his husband tightly.

He woke up to someone tapping him. He opened his eyes to see it was his nurse from earlier.

"Mr. Dun," she said quietly. "I told you, you can't be in here."

"M-my Tyler," he said. "M-my Tyler n-needs me."

The nurse sighed softly. "I'll just treat you in here. But you cannot tell anyone, okay?"

Josh quickly nodded. "T-thank you."

The nurse nodded. "I know what it's like to be without your spouse," she said softly. "I know it's hard. He'll be okay, though."

Josh nodded, holding Tyler closely. "W-when will m-my Tyler wake up?"

"I'm not sure," she said. "I'm predicting a couple more days."

Josh sniffled and nodded. "I-I miss my Tyler."

"He can still hear you," she said. "If you notice, his heart monitor picks up when you start talking."

"M-my Tyler," he said softly, looking at his husband. "I-I Love you."

The nurse smiled softly. "I know you don't want to hear this, but I have to replace your IV."

Josh nodded, just wanting his beloved husband to wake up.

One week later, Tyler was finally awake.

"M-my Tyler," Josh cried, holding his husband closely.

"J-Joshie..." Tyler said. "W-what happened?"

"C-car wreck."

"M-my head hurts."

"Y-you have a concussion. I-I do too."

"E-everything h-hurts."

"I-I'm Sorry, Tyler," he said quietly. "I-I wrecked t-the car. I-it's all m-my fault."

"I-it's not your fault, J-Joshie," Tyler said.

"Y-yes it is," he sniffled. "I-I hurt m-my husband."

"J-Joshie..." Tyler said, weakly holding Josh's face. "I-it's not y-your fault."

Josh sniffled as he continued to cry.

"I-I'm o-okay. I-I promise. I-I love you."

Josh buried his face in Tyler's shoulder as he held him.

"J-Joshie," Tyler said quietly. "S-say you love m-me back."

"I-I love you," Josh said, hugging Tyler closer trying not to hurt him.

So the boys were both in the same room, same bed, holding hands and sharing weak kisses every once in a while.

Two weeks later, they were both released from the hospital. They went home and held each other tightly, never letting the other out of their sight.

Eventually, they were back to normal, but they were always more protective over each other since the accident.

"I love you, Joshua," he would always say.

"I love you more, my Tyler."
