Chapter 4: Hero Basic Training
~(Y/N)'s POV~
The day had crept along slowly. Being like any normal class. What also made it feel slow was the fact that I felt like I was being watched the entire time. Yet anytime I looked for who was watching me they'd stop. Finally hero basic training rolled around at the end of the day. All Might showed up. I was unhappy. Despite never really encountering him, nor being wronged by him, I actually did not like All Might. Even before Kurogiri brought me into the League I didn't like him. He just seemed like a hypocrite to me. Anyways, it was time for training. And today, we'd get to wear our hero uniforms. For combat basic training. Combat. I thought with a slight smirk. Finally, they put me in my element. We were told to change then to meet up in Ground Beta. I held my bag close to me remembering Kurogiri's words. "The suit has some upgrades to help you out in that hero training. But your actual costume for your work with us is still underway." I shook my head and went to get changed. The jumpsuit from the Entrance Exams was now fire proof, and because I mentioned that a student in my class had an ice Quirk Kurogiri made it ice proof as well. It was also water proof for reasons obvious. The black suit now had a, quote, 'fabulous' red trim. It also came with a cloak and a mask to better hide my face. Just incase a murder has to be made. I slipped on my Quirk enhancement gloves before tying the mask on and clipping the seal on the cloak around my neck. I twirled around, the cloak stirring before resting calmly. I flicked the hood up to hide my hair. I looked in the mirror and realized I looked like an assassin. Hm. I would make the perfect assassin with my Quirk and everything wouldn't I? I thought. I ran out along with everyone else. Midoriya trailed behind us. I saw his costume and my first thought was, a rabbit? My next thought was, oh it's based on All Might. Midoriya looked at me and smiled. "Wow (Y/N), you look so cool!" He said. I scratched the back of my neck. "I look like an assassin." I grumbled. "Oh I never would've thought of that. But you look really cool one way or the other." He said. "So positive..." I mumbled. All Might then explained how the training exercise would work. And then we drew lots to determine the teams. Me and Bakugo were a team. Oh joy. I'm absolutely crazy about this assignment. I thought. "The first teams to fight will be..." All Might drew the letters. "Team D and Team A." He announced. "Team D will be villains and Team A will be Heroes." He continued. Okay. I'm somewhat okay with the assignment now. I thought.
Team D was sent in first to set up. We found the weapon and I examined the room. "One way in, one way out. Alright. I think I understand what I need to do." I said. "Bakugo." I called. "What do you want Reaper?" He asked. "Well one don't call me that, two, I'm assuming you're gonna go after Midoriya once the assignment starts, correct?" I questioned. "D*mn straight." He hissed. I smirked. "Alright. We need to counter his plan then." I said. "What do you mean?" Bakugo asked. "He's obviously planning on us splitting up. Knowing that we don't get along well. So most likely he's gonna try and use that. I think he's planning on taking you on himself while he sends Uraraka to look for me and the weapon. He probably plans on capturing you with the tape and then coming in here to take me on with Uraraka. To counter that, all I have to do is capture Uraraka myself. So even if Midoriya manages to get past you, which I highly doubt, we still have a strong chance at winning. After capturing Uraraka I'll use her as leverage. After all, Midoriya is a hero. He'll be worried about his teammate. Use her as bait to lure him in and jump him. Simple." I said. "That's devious. You're really getting into character as a villain aren't you?" Bakugo questioned. "Or, do one better. And yes I suppose I am. You could avoid attacking him for a while and make him think that his calculation was wrong. And that you were with me guarding the weapon. Once he lets his guard down and tries to find the weapon you jump him." I said. "That's also devious. And I like it." Bakugo was silent for a bit after saying that. "Hey (L/N), for the months you knew Deku, he was Quirkless...right?" Bakugo asked. I was silent for a bit. "He was. At least as far as I know he was. It was a shock to me as well. Feeling that tremendous power from someone you believed to be powerless." I mumbled. "So the Quirkless nerd was lying to the both of us." Bakugo growled. "Perhaps he wasn't lying. Maybe he manifested the Quirk recently? Or maybe he just...didn't know it existed?" I offered. Bakugo was quiet, but I heard a small 'tch'. "Anyways, I'm going now. I'm gonna crush that d*mn nerd." Bakugo growled. And with that he left. I sighed, standing in front of the fake weapon. I summoned my scythe, using the frustration and anger from recent events. Honestly, I was a little angry about the revelation of Midoriya's Quirk. Mostly because I had to rewrite all my notes about him. And because of the shock. For a minute, he looked much more powerful than any power I've seen before. And it made me afraid. For a minute there was an overbearing presence, not just the wind, but exceeding from Midoriya himself. And it was terrifying. My grip tightened on my scythe's handle as I grit my teeth.
.......
"It won't happen again."
~Uraraka's POV~
I peaked inside the door to see (L/N), sitting down in front of the weapon. She had a scythe resting by her side, her hand on it. She looked to be asleep. I quickly ducked behind one of the pillars, peaking out to stare at her. Is she actually asleep or...? I thought. Suddenly she stirred a little. Her eyes opened and she yawned. I saw her look around and I duck back around the pillar to avoid her gaze. I heard her hum before hearing her stand up. She started walking, dragging the scythe behind her, making a loud and eerie scrapping noise. "Hello hero. I know you're there." She said. Wow, she's in character. I thought. "I'd come out now if I were you. I already know you're there." She said. I remained silent. Believing she might be bluffing. She hums again, and I peak back around to not see her near the weapon. In fact, I couldn't see her at all. "Found you." And everything went black.
~Deku's POV~
I hide behind a corner, not knowing where Kacchan might be. Suddenly I heard stomping. "DEKUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!" I dodged further down the hall just as an explosion hit where I was. "I KNOW YOU'RE HERE SOMEWHERE NERD!!! COME AND FIGHT ME!!!!!!" Kacchan yelled. Just as I thought. He came after me first. Which means (Y/N) is probably still guarding the weapon. I thought. I don't know as much about (Y/N)'s fighting style as I know Kacchan's. But I know what her Quirk can do. I just hope Uraraka will be okay with the information I gave her. I started to unroll the tape. (Y/N) and Kacchan are both amazing. Their Quirks, their intelligence, their confidence, everything about them oozes power and strength. But I know how Kacchan fights. I know I can outsmart him if I just stay out of his range. (Y/N) is the true danger here, since I know so little about her. I thought. Kacchan jumped out from behind the corner and tried to blast me. I dodged the attack before coming up quickly and getting the tape around his wrist. He looked p*ssed.
~Time Skip~
I walked into the room, seeing the weapon. But then, I spotted Uraraka tied up and gagged in front of the weapon. "Uraraka!" I called, running over. Only to freeze as a figure encased in black dropped down next to her. It looked as if a drop of ink had leaked from the ceiling before falling to the ground, and spreading into a puddle. The light from the window reflected off the red trim lining her fully black jumpsuit. (Y/N) stood up, her head down as a scythe was produced from her cloak. She looked up and smirked at me. "Why hello hero. Fancy meeting you here." She said, standing up straight and resting the scythe on her shoulders. That cold, unforgiving presence started creeping into my bones again. I felt it on the first day I met her. I felt it almost every time she's defended me. I experienced it recently when she protected me from Kacchan. But I've never had it directed at me. That intense feeling, no, that intense aura that she produces. Was this what Kacchan faced whenever (Y/N) was mad at him? This intense feeling of bloodlust and determination. One word, terrifying. (Y/N) smirked at me, in an eerie, almost predator like way. She took the scythe off of her shoulders before holding the blade over Uraraka, causing me to tense up. "Now then, here you have two options. You can A: Surrender and I'll let your partner go. Or B: Go for me, her, or the weapon, and she dies. Floor is yours hero." (Y/N) said in a calm yet menacing tone. I grit my teeth a little, Analysis kicking into full effect as multiple scenarios blasted through my head. I can't put Uraraka in danger, but, lucky for me, (Y/N) knows very little about One For All. "Well then, what's your move?" (Y/N) questioned. My head started spinning and spinning knowing that (Y/N) not only has her Quirk but her Special Ability makes her too quick to dodge or block. I froze. Dodge....or block... I thought. "Tick tock hero. I don't have all day." (Y/N) hissed. I glanced up at her before firing up One For All. She tensed up holding her scythe in a defensive manor, away from Uraraka. "You chose to fight when I have your friend hostage?" She hissed. This is a training excise. So she can not actually kill Uraraka. And if I can time this just right....brace yourself Izuku. I thought.
~(Y/N)'s POV~
The sparks of his Quirk and the wind pressure started kicking up. He was charging for an attack or some kind of move. I tightened my grip on my scythe at the overbearing presence returned. My bloodlust seemed to rise as I felt my eyes glow red. Suddenly he leaped at me at lightning fast speeds. I jumped up, meeting him as we collided. I had managed to swing at him with the handle of the scythe only to suddenly feel something tied around my wrist. I looked, and saw white capture tape as Midoriya fell to the ground, cheek starting to bruise because of my scythe's handle. I landed on the ground smoothly as All Might's voice rang out clear. "Both villains have been captured, the Hero Team Wins!" He declared. I stood frozen as my scythe vanished. Midoriya's legs had been bent and snapped. He had broken his bones much like his finger. His Quirk....what is it? I...did I just....I....I lost? What? That was...WHAT!? Did he just defeat me with pure bulls*it luck!? Or...did he plan that? His Intelligence....it's....oh my God....I forgot....his endurance and intelligence..... "Young (L/N) are you alright?" I felt a hand on my shoulder and flinched back, looking up to see All Might. I shifted away from him slightly, hopefully not too noticeable. I cleared my throat. "Ahem. Sorry about that. Lost in thought. That was anti climatic." I stated. "N-nice of you to point it out." All Might said, sweat dropping. I eyed him slightly. "You look like you want to say something." I pointed out. "I-erm....It's nothing. Just that we need to review the match. I came to get you and Midoriya. He's being taken to the infirmary and Young Uraraka was released. She's doing fine before you ask." All Might said. I wasn't planning on asking. I thought. "Anyways, let's review the match. Would you like to walk with me?" He asked. "N-no. I'll be fine on my own...sir." I grumbled. I lowered my head and walked out of the room. Lost in my thoughts.
~All Might's POV~
I watched the (H/C) haired female leave. (Y/N) (L/N)....a mysterious entry in the Entrance Exams...With a Quirk no one fully grasps. Along with a costume not registered. She works alone mostly, and she....adapted to the villain role very quickly... I thought. Midoriya has told me about her before. Mentioning a female that protected him from bullies a few times. A girl rumored to have lost her entire family to a series of accidents and mishaps. Surrounded by rumors, outcast, called a bad omen, and a reaper. Because everyone close to her....seems to die in painful ways...And she's the one Aizawa decided to be interested in?
~Flashback~
"You seem to have taken a liking to that green haired kid." Aizawa pointed out. "Oh come now! You can't say that you haven't taken an interest in at least one of the kids in your class!" I protested. "I don't like any of them. But they all have at least some potential. Some more than others." The raven haired male insisted. "Well which one are you at least interested in? There has to be one of them that-." "I guess the (L/N) girl is the most interesting. And seems the less annoying." I stared at the tired looking teacher a bit. "She's also the most perceptive. And...probably the most humors." He said. "What do you mean? Didn't she pick pocket you?" I asked. "Well that was annoying. But I can respect that level of stealth so long as she doesn't do it again. Also, just something funny she did when she left class that day." He said. "Care to enlighten me?" I questioned. "She said, and I quote, 'You sir look like you need a computer with an hour long meme compilation, some coffee, and a plate of cookies.' She then proceeded to hand me a paper with a small link on it before saying. 'There's your meme compilation. I'll bring the cookies and coffee some other time.' She then exited the room. All with a completely monotone expression." I stood there in shock for a minute. "Why did she have a link for a meme compilation written down randomly?" I questioned. "I have no idea. But she's a women of culture. It was an entire hour of pure bliss." Aizawa said. "Her skills, she's an interesting individual. Shrouded in mystery. And her Quirk is definitely something interesting." He added.
~Present, (Y/N)'s POV~
After the match results I excused myself. Passing up an opportunity to study my classmates in favor of collecting my thoughts. Once I was far away from the others, wandering the halls of UA, I found an abandoned shadowy corner near my classroom. I leaned on the wall before taking my phone out of my pocket. I flicked it open before scrolling through my call list. I then located a specific number and dialed it. I held the phone up to my ear, gathering my courage. I took a deep breath before hearing the phone be answered. "(Y/N), what a shocker. You never call me. What seems to be the issue?" I took another deep breath, trying to calm my nerves about talking to the mastermind behind the League.
"Sensei.....I need to get stronger...."
