Chapter 2: Judgement Day
Ten months seemed to fly by before (Y/N) knew it. And the day of reckoning had come. UA Entrance Exams. The (H/C) haired female was not looking forward to this. Kurogiri was for the most part silent that morning as she ate breakfast. "(Y/N), Sensei sent down a gift for you. Since it's your big day." He said after she had finished. The female looked up at him as he placed a somewhat large box on the counter next to her plate. (Y/N) stared at it in confusion. She picked up the box and set it in her lap before opening it. Her eyes widened. She looked at Kurogiri then back at the contents of the box. "Did you-did you know about this?" She asked. Kurogiri nodded a little. "He mentioned it to me and asked me to help get it ready. Do you like it?" He asked. (Y/N) smiled, brightly and genuinely. "I love it. Let me guess, special benefits or Quirk enhancements?" She asked. "Indeed. You've studied hard for the written portion of the test. And this should you pass the practical exam." Kurogiri confirmed. (Y/N) nodded. "I'm gonna change real quick. Should I throw a jacket over this?" She asked. "It's cold out. I would if I were you. Wake up Tomura while you're at it." Kurogiri said.
~Time Skip~
(Y/N) approached the gates of UA, unfeeling with a blank expression. I really shouldn't be here. Being a villain and all. Geez. Kinda intimidating. How much did those gates cost? They trying to blow their budget on appearance? Typical of heroes I guess. She thought. She readjusted her coat before looking over and noticing Midoriya was there. Looks like he wasn't kidding about coming here. Then again, I did spot him training a lot. He must have worked hard. She thought. (Y/N) then was a witness to another Bakugo confrontation. Only it wasn't like the normal ones that ended up with Midoriya getting hurt thankfully. (Y/N)'s had to prevent a lot of those these past few months. Midoriya started walking again only to lose his footing and trip. (Y/N) was there in an instant, grabbing the back of his uniform. He slowly opened his eyes before turning to look and seeing her. "(Y-Y/N)!" He said. The female smiled a little before helping him stand. "Those were some nice reflexes!" Said a female voice behind them. The two turned to see a brown haired female with a round face smiling happily. "I take it you two know eachother." She said. (Y/N) nodded slightly before shooting a look at Midoirya. "Be more careful." She said, then turned and continued walking. She sat down in the seats ready for the exam briefing. Before realizing she was sat next to Bakugo. Who did not seemed pleased about the arrangement at all. Not happy about this either but at least I'm polite enough to keep my irritation to myself. (Y/N) thought. A few minutes later Midoirya sat next to her. He turned and smiled slightly. "Thanks for catching me back there (Y/N)!" He said. The female nodded slightly with the ever monotone expression before pulling out her sketchbook and flicking to Midoriya's page and adding something to her notes.
Insists on calling me (Y/N) even though I still call him Midoirya. Not sure if he thinks we're friends or not. Then again, it's Midoriya. Anyone who's nice to him he could consider a friend.
She closed her sketchbook before putting it away and getting lost in thought, waiting for the briefing to begin. Pro Hero Present Mic showed up for the briefing. (Y/N) sighed a little. Great. The noisy hero. She thought. Meanwhile sitting next to her Midoriya was gushing about the hero. (Y/N) reached over and covered his mouth shocking him. She held a finger over her lips before taking her hand back. Mic then went on to explain how the exams work. And (Y/N) smirked. Looks like Kurogiri's sources were right. Good to know. She thought, fiddling with the zipper on her coat. She picked up her card and noted that her and the two males sitting on either side of her weren't put in any of the same battle arenas. So as long as we were in school together, they won't let us near eachother. Good. That means I can go all out without having to worry about any of them seeing me. She thought. Then again, they're all expecting me to be completely crazy. So what does it matter? Eventually the point system was called into question by a blue haired male with glasses. (Y/N) immediately got the sense that he may be important later and made sure to make note of him. (Y/N) brought out her sketchbook and marked her normal stats and notes. Nothing impressive yet. Just the start line. Mic then explained the Zero Point villain and continued on with the briefing. "Now everyone. Good luck suffering!" (Y/N)'s eyes widened slightly. "Well that isn't foreboding at all." She muttered under her breath.
They broke off into groups and took a bus to their battle locations. (Y/N) looked around making note of the different people around her. No one looked interesting or stood out to her, except for a kid with purple hair. He looked tired AF. She started stretching a little and doing some breathing excises to prepare herself. (Y/N) then unzipped her coat and let it fall to the side as she continued stretching. Her jumpsuit was completely black, made with a soft yet stretchy material for maximum mobility. Her entire outfit had hidden perks to help her in the exams. Her shoes had small springs in them to help her move around easier and her suit was built with titanium reinforcement. She slipped on the red gloves that would help enhance her Quirk, strengthening it so she could use larger weapons without extending as much effort. There was also a crow stitched into the fabric on her right shoulder, oposite her Soulmate Mark which was on her left shoulder. Her suit was also built with hidden pockets which she could hide weapons in after making them with her Quirk. (Y/N) scanned the crowd once again, looking for anyone that exceeded a powerful aura. Wondering about their Quirks and special talents. "Okay, start!" Mic announced. (Y/N) jumped over everyone's heads and rushed into the battle center. "What's wrong? There are no count downs in real fights! Run, run!" Mic shouted at the rest of them.
A three pointer bot jumped out at (Y/N) right off the bat. She dodged it's attack before summoning a lightsaber and slashing clean through the bot. She continued further into the arena, summoning another lightsaber to her other hand to duel wield. (Y/N)'s Quirk, Arsenal, is not restricted by the term of real and fiction. If it's a weapon, she can make it. That includes fictional weapons such as lightsabers. If she's read about it in a book. If she's seen it in a movie, she can make it. Which is another reason why her Quirk is so powerful. (Y/N) continued slashing through bots and making her way further and further into the battle station. She spotted the purple haired kid from earlier about to get hit by a two pointer. She rushed over and slashed it. "You alright?" She called to the boy. He nodded slightly and she continued on her way. She noticed a few others have problems with their bots and helped them out as well with a few assists here and there. (Y/N) climbed up to the top of a building before looking around. She spotted a number of examinees having trouble with their villains. But she was also able to gather that there were still plenty of bots to take out. While running on top of the roofs she thought about how many bots she had destroyed, and wondered how many more she'd need to pass. She found a spot close in the middle of the city with lots of chaos surrounding. She let the lightsabers go and vanish before materializing a large sniper. She loaded a couple of rounds before aiming at the different bots. She shot them down one by one.
~Meanwhile With UA Staff~
"The examinees have not been informed on the number of villains, nor their locations. They have a limited amount of time in a vast area." Principle Nezu said. "They have to draw out the villains from there. Information gathering ability to understand the situation. Mobility that can be used in more ways than one. The ability to keep a level head and stay calm. And pure combat ability. All traits necessary for keeping peace in the streets." He commented. "Doesn't this year's group look promising?" "Well we can't be too certain yet." Meanwhile Pro Hero Eraserhead was standing calmly in the back. Eyes glued to one specific screen displaying a certain (H/C) haired female. I wonder how she'll handle the zero pointer. He thought as the giant bot was released.
~Back To (Y/N)~
The (H/C) haired female glanced to the side hearing loud crashing. She spotted a giant robot close to where the other examinees were. (Y/N) let go of the sniper letting it disappear as she sprinted to where the noise and chaos was. Once she was close enough she got a good look at the bot. "That must be the zero pointer." She mumbled under her breath. The bot was slowly getting closer and many of the other examinees were fleeing in terror. Cowards. (Y/N) thought. Suddenly the bot swung at her. She jumped up, dodging it's swipe before running up it's arm. She summoned a pair of swords before seeing the other arm coming straight for her. She jumped, dodging it again, and making the bot hit it's own arm. She jumped from the arm to the shoulder since there wasn't too much distance between them. She sliced at the exposed wiring with the swords, causing electricity to fly. The bot tried to smack her with it's hand but ended up hitting the area she had just cut. Causing it's head to become loose. (Y/N) swung around to the other shoulder and cut at the wires there. The bot tried to smack her again. Same results. Many of the examinees looked on in awe as (Y/N) jumped up on top of the thing's head, and stabbing it with both swords. It came up with both arms hitting at her, only for her to dodge and for it to drive the swords further into it's head. The bot started sparking and twitching. (Y/N) started to climb down quickly, jumping from one limb to the other, then sliding the rest of the way. The bot started to fall. She ran between it's legs and stood behind it as it fell forward with a crash, hitting the ground. Just then the buzzer went off. Marking the end of the exams. (Y/N) panted slightly, her eyes fading to (E/C) as her Quirk fully deactivated. She took a knee, just catching her breath. The sting of adrenaline still fresh in her mind. She stood up and began walking past the collapsed zero pointer. She jumped over some of the debris only to be met by the rest of the examinees. "That was incredible!" Someone shouted. "Why'd you do that? Why didn't you run!?" Another called. "You could've died!" Someone yelled. "Are you reckless, foolish, brave, or all three!?" Another examinee questioned. The purple headed kid from earlier walked up, being one of the only ones to approach her.
"Something tells me you're definitely getting into the hero course." He said. "Don't be certain. UA likes to be strict. And that wasn't worth any points." (Y/N) responded. "True. So why did you go after it?" He asked. "To prove a point. That no matter the size or strength of the opponent, brains will come out on top. I used it's size to my advantage. And besides, it most likely would've ended up hurting someone if no one stopped it." She answered. The purple headed male nodded. "Hitoshi Shinso. Special Talent Intellect. The mark of my Soulmate is a rabbit. Quirk Brainwashing." He introduced. (Y/N) nodded. "(Y/N) (L/N). Special Talent Reflex. The mark of my Soulmate is a fox. Quirk Arsenal." She responded. Shinso nodded in return. "Looks like our marks don't quite match up, huh?" He questioned. "Nope. Also Brainwashing. That sounds like an interesting Quirk." (Y/N) commented. "If by interesting you mean villainous, yeah. You can go ahead and say it, everyone loves to point it out." Shinso said, rolling his eyes. "Eh. I've seen worse. Most people like to call my Quirk a little villain-like after finding out how it works and what the drawbacks are. Then again, I'm the girl that everyone assumes is a frickin' reaper walking since I always seem surrounded by death." (Y/N) responded, rolling her eyes as well. Shinso stared at her with wide eyes before smiling slightly. "Something tells me we'd get along." He said. "Aren't we already? Or is that not how human interaction works? Sorry. I wouldn't know." This caused both of them to laugh a little. "Anywho. I'd best be on my way." (Y/N) said, waving a little and walking away. "Nice talking too ya'. Hope you make in the hero course." Shinso called after her. "Thanks. Good luck to you too." She called back.
~Time Skip, A Week~
(Y/N) was sitting in the bar eating dinner slowly and with an exhausted expression. She had applied to multiple different high schools just incase she didn't make it into UA. Which Kurogiri and the others doubted but (Y/N) was known in the League for backup plans. Suddenly the door was burst open, causing the heads of Kurogiri and Shigaraki to turn. It was one of the messenger villains that Kurogiri had employed. "A letter to (Y/N) from UA." He said, holding out the letter. This provoked a reaction from the League's current Sociopath. She turned to see the messenger holding the letter out to her. She got up and retrieved the letter. "Thanks." She said in her monotone voice. He nodded and left the bar with no further news. She set the letter down next to her plate and continued eating. "Aren't you going to open it?" Shigaraki asked. "No rush." (Y/N) responded. "Are you certain you got in or do you just not care?" Kurogiri asked while sweatdropping. "I don't care." (Y/N) said. "She just doesn't want to find out she actually got in, huh (Y/N)?" Shigaraki questioned. "Shut it Tomura." She growled in response. "See? She doesn't want to go to a hero school." He said. (Y/N) sighed and finished her food. "Fine. I'm opening the letter. Geez." She hissed, grabbing the letter and heading to her room. After the door closed Kurogiri shot a look at Shigaraki, who was staring right back at him. "How do you think she did?" Kurogiri asked. "Oh she passed for sure. Might even get extra points because she saved a couple of the brats. We have nothing to worry about." Shigaraki said dismissively. Kurogiri looked back down where her door was. "I worry for her mental state." He mumbled. Shigaraki raised an eyebrow. "We're villains Kuro. You shouldn't be that worried about her." He grumbled. "Yes. But she's only fifteen." The bartender argued. "Yeah. A fifteen year old who's lost her entire family and is used to underground activity as well as people looking down at her. And being cautious of her. We crossed the bridge of worrying about her mental state a long time ago." Shigaraki responded. Kurogiri continued to gaze at (Y/N)'s door down the hallway for a while. "Kuro, she's a Sociopath through and through. You know this. That's why you adopted her in the first place, right?" Shigaraki asked. The misty bartender sighed, about to respond when they heard (Y/N)'s door open. She walked back out with a slight look of irritation on her face. "I got in." She announced, less than enthusiastically. "And? You look like there's something else you want to say." Kurogiri said. "All Might will be a teacher. I got into the hero course. He's gonna be one of my teachers." She hissed. Kurogiri was shocked. Shigaraki was a mix of disgusted and excited. "Well then. This should serve interesting." Kurogiri said. (Y/N) nodded. "Quite. I'm going to bed now. Night guys." She said, heading back to her room. "Geez, just gonna say that then leave? Don't you want to hang out for a little while?" Shigaraki questioned. "Not really." She responded, already closing the door to her room. Kurogiri sighed. "She needs friends." He grumbled. "She's a villain. You really want her making friends?" Shigaraki questioned. "She may be a villain. But she's a child too. She deserves whatever childhood she can get. I'd at least like her to meet her Soulmate. Just so she can be a little more happy." Kurogiri commented. Shigaraki groaned in annoyance. "You people and your d*mn Soulmates!" He whined. Kurogiri snickered a little. "Someone's just salty cuz he hasn't met his Soulmate yet." Shigaraki glared viciously at Kurogiri.
Just a normal evening in the League.
