Chapter 29: Training Camp
I kept to myself on the bus heading for our summer training camp. It was a really long ride and not many attempted to start a conversation with me. They could probably tell I wasn't in the mood for talking. Ever since finding out about Izaya being my actual father, things have been different in Ikebukuro. I had been doing more and more jobs with Izaya and just overall spending more time with him. Hell even Shizuo joined us for a little while. And when people saw the triple treat of Ikebukuro walking around and not trying to kill eachother, lets just say rumors started flying everywhere. Since I did have a few of Izaya's features, many people had already began thinking I was his daughter. The name (Y/N) Orihara was tossed around frequently. But no one really understood why Shizuo was there and not trying to kill Izaya or throwing something at me. It isn't really common for us all the be walking around town not screaming at eachother or tossing vending machines around. What was funny is that when we ran into Celty and Shinra they both started freaking out seeing us all together walking like normal people. Then we ran into Kida and the gang. Kida began to back up Mikado and Anri eyeing Izaya nervously. I pulled him off to the side. "So hey. Y'know how you mentioned that I look like Izaya when you squint at me?" I questioned. "Yeah." He agreed nodding. "Well looks like he's my actual father." I muttered. Kida began smirking. He turned back to the others. "Fork over the yen guys! I was right!" He said. Anri and Mikado both began groaning. I shot Kida a look. "Did you bet on this?" I asked. "Perhaps." He mumbled. I began to slow clap. Veeeeeery slow and sarcastic.
I was pulled out of my memory when the bus came to a stop. We all got off only to meet the Pro Heroes, The Pussy Cats. I was not amused. Nor were the others. Well...minus Velvet. She liked it. Then Aizawa pulled a stunt and drove away in the bus. With all of our stuff...after a two hour long bus drive. I took a long, deep breath, before slamming my foot down on the guard rail causing the others to freak out. The metal bent and snapped under my strength. I took another breath before looking at the rest of the class. "Get....Behind me....I don't want to accidentally hurt one of you..." I growled. Everyone nodded violently and shuffled behind me. Dragonheart... "Yeah?" She responded. "Kick his butt!" Chibi shouted. "Give that teacher of ours hell." Velvet agreed. "He's long overdue for a bad time." Sky commented. "I think it's about time we teach him what for. Ready Sparky?" Darkheart questioned. My eye faded into dark dark (E/C) as my left eye glowed bright red. "Well...in the words of Shizu-chan..." I muttered, gripping the guard rail as the metal began to melt and bend. "I'M GONNA KILL HIM DEADER THAN DEAD!!!!!!!" I shouted, ripping the guard rail up out of the ground. "AIZAWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I shouted, sliding down the mountain with the guard rail in hand. Creatures made of earth came charging at me the moment I entered the forest. "OUTTA MY WAY YOU D*MN B*TCH B*STARDS!!!!!" I shouted, swinging the guard rail around and destroying the monsters.
"Our Class Rep is really scary..." Kaminari muttered while sweat dropping. "She's p*ssed off....Rip Sensei." Bakugo said, crossing his arms. "G-geez. I didn't know she was that strong!" Tooru said in shock, leaning over the hill to see the destruction. "Well she did break the grip test machine first day of school." Tokoyami commented. "Looks like (Y/N) is on a war path....I almost feel bad for Aizawa...then again he kinda had this coming." Izuku mumbled. "(Y/N) is really amazing..." Momo said. "We should get going while the path is clear..." Iida said. "Wait a few more minutes. We might get caught in her rage if we go now..." Izuku said. "But she's already half way through the fore-." "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!!!!" An oak tree was tossed over in their direction like a speeding missile, ending up impaling the side of the mountain. Most of the class jumped back. Deku and Bakugo did not. "D*mn. How long has it been since she went full Rage4Days mode like this Deku?" Bakugo questioned. "I think when she tossed that one bully half way across the city when we were what? Four? Five?" Izuku responded. He sweatdropped. "Or maybe it was during the Sports Festival? I think I still have a few scars from that..." He said. Bakugo nodded. "Bet I have more burns and scars than you though." He said. "Pfft. You wanna test that Kacchan? (Y/N) seriously did not hold back against me...." Izuku said. "And she did for me?" Both males burst out laughing causing the class to be more scared than confused. One: Bakugo did not laugh. Two: He would NEVER laugh with Izuku. "Well I think she's far enough ahead that we aren't in any real danger. You guys ready?" Izuku asked, turning to look at the rest of the class.
~Third Person POV~
Aizawa hopped off the bus to talk to the other Pros before realizing that Snipe was standing with the Pussy Cats. "Snipe? What are you doing here?" Aizawa asked. "Extra protection. Just in case. Nezu assigned me to help you guard the kids while they're training. He's been really on edge since Todoroki disappeared." The other UA teacher explained. Aizawa nodded while Pixie Bob stiffened up. "We've got incoming. Aizawa, one of your students moves fast. Either that or we've got an intruder." She said, her viser showing a glowing red dot tearing through her creatures. "This is the part where I probably need to hide." Aizawa grumbled. Snipe gave him a confused look when the heard a loud crash, seeing a tree flying up into the air along with a few of Pixie Bob's Earth Monsters. "Yep. That's probably (Y/N). Wait for it..." Just as Aizawa uttered those words a large torrent of fire tore into the sky along with a vicious scream of rage. "Pixie Bob I'd summon more Earth Monsters to try and wear her down." Aizawa advised. Aizawa turned his eyes to the trees as dirt, rocks, trees, monsters, and fire continued to be blasted into the sky. "The rest of your students are far in the back. Keeping safe distance. They're doing well too. But this one...what did you say her name was?" Pixie Bob asked. "(Y/N) (L/N). The Class Rep. Her Quirk? Currently being debated. We've tried to ask her multiple times but all we really know is that she's got different personalities, and each personality has one or two Quirks of their own." Aizawa explained. Pixie Bob nodded slightly. "Two students all the way in the back are leading the class. They seem to be the least afraid of this (L/N) girl." She said. "Probably Bakugo and Midoriya. They've known (Y/N) since they were all really young. Apparently she's Midoriya's friend. Somewhat Bakugo's rival." Aizawa stated.
Another scream of rage tore through the air. "AIZAWA YOU'RE DEAD! I DID NOT SIT ON A F*CKING BUS FOR TWO HOURS ONLY TO BE TESTED THE MOMENT I STEP OFF OF IT. I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A TRAINING CAMP BUT D*MNIT YOU DO THIS KIND OF S*IT WAY TOO OFTEN. SO F*CK YOU. AND EVERYTHING NEAR YOU. I'M GONNA ROAST YOU INTO ASHES YOU GOD D*MN MOTHERF*CKING B*TCH B*STARD!!!!!!! DIE YOU F*CKING MONSTERS DIE!" Everyone sweatdropped and shot a look at Aizawa. "Did I mention that (Y/N) is highly wrathful?" He questioned. Snipe sighed a little. "(Y/N) is a good student. She was tied with another student for first on midterms. And on finals." He said. "And a very keen physical fighter. Her Quirks are all extremely powerful. But that strength of hers...I don't think it's a Quirk." Aizawa said, flashing back to what had happened during his fight with her and Momo. "What makes you say that? Strength like that shouldn't be possible on its own." Mandalay said. "The fact that during the exam I couldn't cancel it. Her fire, shadows, those lasers and bones, and everything else in between all disappeared. But her strength was still there. Along with her agility. And I think it has something to do with where she went to train." Aizawa said. He was silent for a minute as everyone shot him looks. "Anyways, I'd better leave before she gets her. I'd rather not get drop kicked in the face again." As soon as he said that a shadow loomed over him. He looked up only to get drop kicked in the face by (Y/N). "AIZAWA YOU'RE DEAD!" She shouted. She got off her teacher before shooting a glare at the two female Pros. "Mandalay dear, where's the nearest lake?" She asked with a smile, no doubt activating Devilish Charm. Mandalay tensed up a bit before shakily pointing a hand in the direction of the lake. "Thank you sweetheart!" (Y/N) said before picking up Aizawa by his scarf and hurling him all the way over and into the lake. "Holy crap!" Pixie Bob shouted. (Y/N) scoffed a bit. "Velvet you should've just let me beat the b*stard." (Y/N) muttered to herself. She then cleared her throat, her dark (E/C) eye going back to the normal shade. "Sorry about that little scene. But Aizawa pulls things like this far too often and it was getting on my nerves." She said. Mandalay gave (Y/N) a look. "U-um. (L/N)-." "Please refrain from calling me by that name. Use (Y/N) or the new hero name, Joker." (Y/N) clarified. "R-right. Apologies. But anyways (Y/N), it seems there is...um...heavy debate over what your Quirk is. And we need to know for your training." Mandalay said. I smirked patting her shoulder before handing her a small packet of papers. "I have two specific conditions. Persona, the Quirk version of Multiple Personality Disorder, and a malfunction in the adrenaline gland. You can mark my Quirk down as Persona since that's what it is on paper. But the short version is that I have five other personalities, and each of them have one or two Quirks of their own. More details are on the papers. As for the thing with the adrenaline gland, I'm sure you've heard of Quirkless lifting cars off their children or sudden bursts of strength, speed, and quick recovery when their life is in peril. Basically that's all do to adrenaline. And the malfunction allows me access to my full strength. Whenever I'm really p*ssed off my strength kicks in. My full strength is...quite impressive as you saw." She explained. "Now then, I'm going to sit down and relax for a bit. Call me when its time for lunch." (Y/N) said. And with that she took off inside the building to relax.
~Time Skip, (Y/N)'s POV~
I was notified that the rest of the class had finally shown up as I was unpacking in the girl's dorm. I nodded to the little kid, Kota, since he had informed me and told him to let Mandalay know that I'd be out soon. I pulled out my new hero costume and smirked. "Here we go." I said to myself and the other Personas.
I walked outside with a large smirk, now in a black jumpsuit, the initials P5 on my left side over my heart. I left my hair down leaving my scar visible. I slipped my gloves on and flicked my jacket over the jumpsuit. "Alright everyone!" I declared, letting my voice ring out. "Lets go get some food shall we?" I questioned. Everyone nodded in agreement. I helped Mandalay and Pixie Bob with the cooking. And by me, I mean Velvet. And that was how our training camp began.
....
We had one full day of training then resting. The next day we trained hard and afterward came the so called 'test of courage'. We were each divided into pairs and sent in one by one. Of course a few of our classmates weren't able to come since they had extra lessons and what not. Anyways, it was about time that I went in when suddenly I froze. "Hey does anyone else smell smoke?" I questioned.
Before my very eyes everything dissolved into chaos. Fire, gas, villains. Everyone was in panic. And I had no idea what to do....My personas all screamed at me to do one thing or the other. Save our classmates, attack the villains, divide and conquer. Everything blurred together. I wasn't ready for this. Things were too hectic in my own mind. I...I couldn't do a single thing.
That night was only the beginning. The beginning of corruption had begun sometime ago. And that night would prove to be my breaking point. Corrupted heroes. Lies and half truths. Noble villains. Everything came crashing down at me at once in that moment. I don't know why it triggered then. The responsibility? The expectations? All the lies that had been told to me? It all came at once. And the voice in the back of my mind turned into my greatest enemy that night.
I ran that night. I ran away from the trouble, the danger, and all my responsibilities. I couldn't take it. I caved under the pressure.
I failed as a hero....because in that moment when everything went wrong, I ran away.
