Chapter 19: Sports Festival Part 4
~Final Round, Shoto vs. (Y/N), Play song~
I walked onto the stage. Guys, we're gonna have to try our hardest for this one. Shoto's going to try and end this fight quickly. But he also knows close range is our specialty dumba*s. My money's on him being a long range fighter during his match. 'Sparky has a point. After everything he knows that if he gets in too close it will be a win for us.' 'Heya, we may want to think later. Right now I think we're gonna have to rely on instincts alone.' 'Sky is correct as well. Instinct and reflexes will determine the victor of this fight.' I nodded to myself as I looked at the ground. I noticed Shoto doing the same on his side. The tense silence went on for a little while until both our heads shot up, sliding into our respective stances. "You're going down!" We both shouted at eachother.
His ice came at me at speeds I wasn't expecting. I pulled up a fire wall quickly melting his ice on contact. The moment the fire was down Shoto was right in front of me with cold determination in his eyes. I dodged the side quickly as he took a swing at me. I grabbed his wrist and tried to fling him out of the ring but he caught himself on his ice before using it to slide around me. I jumped into the air and landed on a Gaster Blaster before it fired at him. He managed to dodge all of the lasers using his ice for quick mobility. The Gaster Blaster dissolved and I landed on the stage with a thud. Once I landed I sent a wave of fire right at him but he jumped over it still coming right at me. I turned myself into a shadow before coming right up at his feet. He looked around wondering where I had gone off too before I popped up right in front of him and punched him in the gut. Sending him flying to back. He quickly pulled himself back in before landing on the stage, slamming his hands into the ground as he sent another powerful ice blast my way. Crap. He is trying to get in close! The hell is wrong with him!? Doesn't he know that's our specificity!? We can counter anything he does! 'He has some form of plan. One that requires him to get in close.' INCOMING! I ducked as Shoto came at me before doing a flip and kicking him in the stomach sending him into the air before a circle of Gaster Blasters surrounded him in the air. His eyes widened as their mouths all glowed, signifying an incoming attack. He was so focused on them he didn't notice me shooting a blast of fire at him. He encased himself in ice blocking the Gaster Blaster lasers before the fire melted it. He fell to the ground before catching himself on an ice slide. "Blast it Shoto! You know you can't beat me just using pathetic tricks like that right!?" I shouted at him. His expression turned dark as he continued to attack me with oncoming ice attacks. I dodged, melted, and destroyed any other ice attacks that came my way. Staying in place just to taunt him. He rushed me again coming in with a few punches, but his movements were slow. I swept his feet out from under him when he pulled the Dragon Dance move from before and got back on his feet only to be met with my fist. He staggered back, in a daze as I grabbed his shoulders and broke him over my knee. I then tossed him to the side into an ice wall he had created around the arena to catch himself from falling out. Once he recovered I was on him in an instant and attempted to kick him but he narrowly dodged, bringing a punch to my temple. My turn to stagger back. I shook my head, dodging his next attack before putting him in a choke hold. "I understand your motives. I know what it's like! But d*mnit Shoto use your fire!" I spat. I felt a chill and released Shoto, jumping back just in time to avoid an ice spike. "NEVER!" He shouted at me. "You're getting slower! It's only a matter of time!" I shouted. I sent a few bones flying at him but he managed to dodge all of them, smirking slightly. "Your attacks are predictable Sky!" He shouted managing to get closer. I sent another wave of fire at him to keep him back but he blocked it with his ice.
He's not going to use his fire unless we find a trigger word. I'm already working on it. MOVE D*MNIT! I quickly dodged Shoto as he came in with more ice. I noticed his right side starting to freeze up slightly. "Looking a little chilly over there." I mumbled to myself. I nailed him with an uppercut before sliding into his center line and elbowing him in the chin causing him to fall on his back. I was about to pin him down with a blue bone but he got up quickly twisting my arm behind my back before slamming my head onto the ground. I hissed slightly. "What is wrong with you!? You know how I feel about my fire!" He shouted at me. I quickly ignited my own flames to get him off of me before using a shadow to trip him up. "You may not have been there at the time, but Deku was right. Just because we are our father's children does not mean we have to be like them! D*mnit Shoto! I told you once I'll tell you again!" I shouted, rushing him and decking him across the face. "I've seen Endeavor fight in person before! And I've been up close when you used your fire in the Calvary Battle! As a user of fire myself I can tell you that everyone's fire is unique and different based on their personality! And I can also tell you this!" I punched him in the gut with a lot more force than intended. "YOUR FIRE IS NOTHING LIKE YOUR FATHER'S!" I roared. He slid down the ice barrier coughing and sputtering. "Huh? You're still conscious? How unusual. Most would collapse after a blow like that." I said as he weakly tried to pull himself up. He glared at me long and hard as I walked forward slowly, cracking my knuckles. "If you want a bare knuckle brawl you're on pal. Can't promise that you'll make it out of here without a bone or two broken though." I said. "What are you trying to say?" He questioned, standing. I glared at him. "We are not prisoners of our blood. To be blunt, my shadows and your fire may be the Quirks of our parents. But that was before we were born. These Quirks don't just belong to them. They belong to us now. Deku asked me this 'It's your Quirk isn't it'? Our powers came from our parents, sure. That may be true. But does it matter? Hardly. Our powers became ours the moment they manifested within us." I growled. Shoto grit his teeth. "I WON'T USE HIS POWER!" He shouted. "FOR F*CKS SAKE SHO! IT'S YOUR POWER ISN'T IT!?" I shouted while sending a blast of fire at him. Through the fire I could see it clearly. Shoto's eyes widening. His breath hitched as he stumbled slightly. Then my flames were abruptly cut off as a torrent of raging fire swirled around Shoto. I smirked. Trigger found. Nice work nerd! 'Heads up. Things are about to get real now.' 'Sky is correct. Let us focus our efforts on victory now.' I nodded, getting into a fighting stance as the torrent died down. Shoto's left side was on fire as the ice melted from his right. "My power....My power...." He mumbled under his breath. That's when I heard a shout from the crowd and saw Endeavor. "OI! FLAMING F*CK!" I shouted. Endeavor shot me a glare as the crowd was silent. "I don't know what the f*ck you think you're doing, but this is between me, and Shoto! So p*ss off you f*cking attention seeking drama queen!" I spat angrily. "This ain't about you! This is between me and him!" I said pointing at me then to Shoto. "So don't you ever talk to me or your son ever again!" I spat, flipping off the number 2 hero. The look on his face was so f*cking priceless. We are soooo going to regret that later. I thought. I then heard a small chuckle, followed by laughter. I looked over to see Shoto laughing. "No one in their right mind talks to him like that!" He said. His laughter died down into a low chuckle. "Sometimes I can't believe you." He said, looking at me with a bright, genuine, smile. I smiled back. "Well then. I think we have a fight to get back too." I said, sliding into my stance as I activated Shadows and Devil's Flame as well as Sugar High and Monster Soul. Shoto's flames and ice began to intensify. Pretty soon my fire and shadows merged, creating black fire. The markings on my arms expanded to my hands and crawled onto my cheeks. "SOMEONE STOP THEM!" Midnight shouted. I quickly teleported above Shoto as his power continued to grow. "BLACK FLARE BURST! 100%!" I shouted letting out a blood curdling screech as I fired off the attack. Shoto countered with ice and fire at the same time but right before our attacks collided something came between them. Both of us were blown back by the huge blast. I slammed into something before blacking out.
~Time Skip~
I was awoken by a sting of pain. I hissed slightly before trying to pull myself up and collect my thoughts. The hell... 'What happened?' 'Did we lose?' Everything hurts. Chibi are you alright? Define alright. '(Y/N) are you unharmed?' Unharmed isn't the word I'd use. The f*ck just happened!? 'Calm down.' 'I think we lost guys.' Ugh, not important right now. Where are we? That's the question that needs to be asked. Dark is right. I thought. "(Y/N)! You're awake!" I sat up, hissing slightly, to see Izuku. "Hey Deku....The hell happened?" I questioned. "You and Todoroki-Kun both got hit heavily by the blast but you were the one knocked out of the ring." He explained. I stared at him blankly. "......F*CKING D*MNIT I LOST!" I shouted. "Oh oww." I groaned, laying back down. "They're awarding medals right now. All Might will give you your's later since you were too hurt to attend....those burns on your hands were worse than we were expecting." Izuku said. I looked to see my hands bandaged all the way up to my shoulders. "Recovery Girl healed the worst of it. But there will be some scarring." He said. I sighed slightly sitting up. "D*mn it. Black fire. Why the hell did I think that was smart? I guess I got a little to into it." I said. Me and Izuku both grew silent. "Soooo...How have things been going lately?" I asked. "Pretty good. What about you?" He questioned. "Could be better. But it could always be worse." I responded. "That interaction between your father and Endeavor is going to bring some serious consequences. Are you going to be alright?" Izuku questioned. I smiled at him. "Don't worry about it, Deku. I've already got everything worked out." I said. He smiled back. "Okay, (Y/N). Just don't leave alright?" He questioned. I snickered, reaching over and petting him despite the pain. "Well I might have to go outside of town, but I'll stay in contact." I said. He looked horrified. "G-go out of town!? What do you mean by that!?" He shouted. "Shhhh!" I shushed him. "In order to avoid getting hurt by my father for hiding my other powers from him, and to just avoid anymore abuse in general, I'm going to be leaving Musutafu for a little. Don't worry. I'll still come to classes and everything, but I also have an....old teacher to meet up with." I said. "Old teacher?" Izuku questioned. "Don't worry about it." I said. "But still! Leaving the city! Isn't that a bit extreme!?" Deku whisper-shouted. "Extreme? Deku I've had to live in that house for years, the only relief I was able to get was sneaking out to meet you. Now that I have a chance and even more reason to get away I'm going to get away while I still can. Don't worry. I'm not leaving you. And I'll still come to Musutafu every so often. Trust me I do have responsibilities down here too. And I wouldn't be able to stand not seeing you often. You're like my little brother Izuku. I'm not ditching you." I said, smiling at him brightly. He smiled back. "Alright. Just don't do anything too rash while you're out." He said. I sweat-dropped slightly. With that place that we're going too I don't think that'll be possible. 'What do you mean?' Well Velvet, let's just say Ikebukro may be filled with Quirkless, in fact there's barely anyone with a Quirk down there, but it's a hot bed for the supernatural and unusual. Dark is right. That place has a man with superhuman strength, no Quirk. A headless rider on a motorcycle that sounds like a horse, still no Quirk. And I'm pretty sure they recently had a thing similar to the Zombie Apocalypse, instigated by a girl that can pull a sword out of her arm....still no f*cking Quirk. Velvet, Sky, and Chibi were silent. 'Well....that seems...intriguing.' 'Intriguing isn't the word I'd use.' Welp. Seems fun to me. So long as I can still have candy. I sighed slightly with a smile. "Umm...(Y/N)?" Izuku questioned. "Yeah?" I asked. "Are you alright? You seem out of it." He said. "Oh sorry. I had to have a chat with the others." I said. "Others?" Izuku questioned. "Don't worry about it. You'll find out soon enough." I said dismissively, waving my hand. That's when the door opened and Shoto walked in. "You're okay." He said, breathing a sigh of relief. "Yeah. A little burned and bruised. But I'm good." I said, smirking at him. "What about the others?" He questioned. "Dragonheart is confused and p*ssed that we lost. Darkheart is chill but slightly confused about what happened. Chibi's moved on already. Sky doesn't care. And Velvet is calm but I can sense she's a little upset about losing. But everyone is shrugging off the loss because hey. We got you to go all out and we did something dumb in the heat of the moment that we'd prefer to forget about." I explained. "Are you talking about the black fire?" Shoto asked. "No I'm talking about he magic flying unicorns." I deadpanned. "Of course I'm talking about the black fire." I snapped. I took a deep breath. "Sorry. That was uncalled for." I apologized. "No it's fine." Shoto responded. "But how was that dumb? That attack was super powerful." Izuku pointed out. "I can't control it." I responded. "I can barely control it at 5% without it burning my hands. I'm surprised I didn't burn off my arms." I explained. Both of them paled slightly at that news. "Black fire is a combination of Shadows and Devil's Flame. It's powerful. But way too hot for me. Using black fire for me is like Izuku using his Quirk for him. I can't use it without hurting myself." I continued. I shot Izuku a knowing look. He nodded to me, acknowledging the fact that I knew the secret of One For All. I sighed. "What time is it? Are we starting class after all this? Or are we going home for the day?" I asked. "We're going home right after this and staying there for a few days to recover." Shoto said. I reached over to my hoodie and fished my flip phone out of the pocket. I flipped it open before opening my messages.
Me: We're being sent home right away for a few days.
Izaya: Great! I'll send you the location right away.
I closed the phone before tossing it back into my hoodie's pocket. I flopped back down just stareing at the white ceiling. "Hey (Y/N)....were you planing on losing to Todoroki-Kun on purpose?" Izuku questioned. I smirked. "Whaaaaat? Hell no. Do you think I'd honest to God use an all out black fire attack if I didn't want to win?" I questioned. "Really? Then why was your attack off?" Deku questioned. I froze. "Typically your attacks are on point, no matter how powerful. Yet I noticed during the fight, even through all that chaos, that you sent the blast at least twenty centimeters off. That way it wouldn't hit Todoroki's attack directly and he was able to blow you out of the rink. You planned that, didn't you?" He questioned. "W-what? Pfft. No! Of course not! I'd never try to lose on purpose! That's your shtick not mine!" I said. "(Y/N), your attacks are never off...And I know that you typically plan ahead. If you were aiming to win in that moment, then your attack would have made direct contact. And you could've teleported. That's another thing I have to factor in now." He said. I shook my head. "I kinda forgot I could teleport in that moment." I lied. "(Y/N)." Deku said firmly. "Oh shut up. I didn't lose on purpose and that's the only response you're getting out of me." I said. "Hey (Y/N). On a different note...is it true that Bakugo called you Joker again? I had to leave after the fight began." Izuku said. I sighed. "Yeah. He did. It really caught me off guard too. I wasn't expecting to ever hear that nickname again." I said. "Nickname?" Shoto questioned. "Y'know. Like how we call Bakugo Kacchan, and Izuku is Deku. I was called Joker. At least, that's what Bakugo called me half the time. He stopped once I started getting more protective over Deku." I said. I shook my head. "You two wait at the gate for me alright? I'll be out in a bit." I said. I heard them both leave before looking at Recovery Girl. "So...Did you lose the fight on purpose?" She questioned. I smirked. "Maybe I did. Maybe I didn't. Who can tell with me?" I questioned with a shrug. "Well you're free to go now." She said. "Thank you for the help." I said. "Yes, well...what are those black markings on your arms?" She questioned. "Oh. Those are just a thing that happens after using Shadows too much. They should go away soon since I didn't over do it on the shadow power. Unless fate counts black fire. In which some might be permanent." I explained. "Hmm..." She hummed to herself. "Well then, you're free to go. Get changed and go home." She said. "Aye ma'am." I said getting up. I changed into my normal outfit and threw on my hoodie and scarf. I looked at my flip phone as I walked out to the school gates. Izaya had sent me multiple forms of the same locations since he didn't know how my teleportation worked. Maps, actual coordinates, the name of the place along with a picture. You name it. I shook my head with a small smile at how thorough he was.
I stood next to Shoto and Izuku chatting for a little bit. Until I heard my name being shouted. I turned and paled at my father stomping over. "Welp. Hate to cut this short but gotta bounce. Later." I said. I darted off, my father giving chase. Now I know what you're thinking: Why run when I can teleport? Well one, this is more fun. Two, I don't want to waste energy with teleporting right now. And three, I like to show off. I spun out of the way as my father tried to grab my arm. Wait. Don't we need to get our stuff? 'Don't worry. I teleported it into the train station earlier. It's hidden right now and we can grab it on our way to the train, lose father in the crowd, and bada bing bada boom, we're on our way to Ikebukro.' This is why you're the hidden genius of the group Sky. 'Heya, I'm just really good at what I do.' I shook my head, clearing it of thought as I front flipped out of father's reach once again. Next thing I know he's trying to trip me up with a shadow. I jump over it before stopping, ducking under father, and punching him in the chin, causing him to stagger back. I continued running while he was distracted. Once we hit the train station I was ducking under people, jumping over lines, and parkouring my way to where Sky had hid the suitcase. I found it tucked away between two vending machines. I grabbed the handle and continued running. My wounds were starting to sting badly as I continued. I eventually lost my father through the crowd and quickly jumped into the train bound for Ikebukro. Barely anyone was on said train but those that were shot me some weird looks. I sat down with a sigh before pulling out my flip phone and checking over a few things. Once I had memorized all I needed I put that away and got out my normal smart phone. I saw that I had gotten multiple texts from Deku and Shoto about if I was alright and if I had gotten away. I put them in a group chat so I could talk to them both.
Me: Don't worry guys. I'm okay. And yes, I did get away.
Shoto: Thank Goodness.
Deku: I'm relived. Wait...why is Shoto here?
Me: Oh right. I put you both a group chat. Don't mind me.
Shoto: Oh. Okay.
Me: Yeah. But I'm fine. On my way out of town currently.
Shoto: You're heading out of town?
Me: It's the quickest way to avoid my father. I've got someone who's willing to arrange something for me down there.
Deku: Right. You mentioned this earlier. Who is this person by the way?
Me: No one you need to worry about. Just an old...teacher of mine.
Shoto: Teacher?
Deku: I feel like you mentioned this person earlier, but dodged the question when I asked about it.
Me: That's because he's unimportant at this time. Can we move away from this topic please?
Shoto: Of course. What's on everyone's mind?
Deku: Are you sure you two are going to be alright?
Me: Deku we'll be fine.
Shoto: She's right. Don't worry about us Midoriya.
Deku: Alright. I'm just making sure.
Me: Well I'm gonna go now. Talk to you later.
Shoto: Bye.
Deku: Later.
Once I put the phone away I decided to take a small nap until I got there. I was awoken by the last calling for Ikebukro and got off the train with my suitcase in hand. "Let's see..." I said, looking at my flip phone. I walked behind a pillar at the train station and once no one was looking and teleported into an alleyway nearby where we were meeting.
