Chapter 13: Dodging Danger

(It's time to guess that Persona!)

"Hey Sho." I greeted. "Morning (Y/N)." He said back. "Did it go well with Velvet?" I questioned. I could've sworn he blushed slightly. "I'd say it went well." He said. "Congrats, that's three down." I said. "I'm just glad that they don't hate me." He said with a sigh. "Well wanna take a shortcut to school?" I questioned. Offering my hand. He took it and I teleported us to the back of the classroom. "Early as always." Shoto mumbled. I just shrugged and sat down at my desk with a book. Once everyone else arrived my desk was surrounded by a majority of the female class population, while Shoto's desk was surrounded by a majority of the male population. I sighed slightly, getting annoyed by all of the questions being tossed at me. I closed my book with a sigh, silencing everyone. "As Class Rep I have already stated that if someone needed help with training I would be there to assist them." I said. "Shoto asked me to help with training, and I accepted. In turn during our sparring matches he has also assisted me with my training as well. Give and take. There is absolutely nothing going on between us." I said. "Really? Then explain this!" Ashido said, getting out her phone. She showed me a picture of Shoto kissing my hand in front of the cafe. I blushed slightly before sighing and facepalming. "If I had known that this class consisted of stalkers I would've been on guard more." I growled. "That, my friends, is a polite formality. A gesture of respect. Nothing romantic at all." I said. 'Are you sure about that?' SHUT IT VELVET! I shook my head slightly. I stood up suddenly glaring at the females around my desk. "Class will be beginning soon. And don't a good majority of you have better things to be doing than stalking me and Shoto? There is a sports festival coming up. One that'll help us get scouted by professional hero agencies. Shouldn't you be training as well? As Class Rep I want everyone from 1-A to have a chance at getting scouted. So for the love of God can you all quit wasting your time on stalking me and actually focus on improving your Quirks?" I questioned. I shot a glare at the boys over at Shoto's desk who quickly avoided eye contact. "That goes for you all as well. Except for the d*mn hedgehog. I couldn't care less what happens to Bakub*tch." "HEY!" I clapped my hands together. "Everyone get in your seats and stop this foolishness! Aizawa will be here any minute and I'm getting sick and tired of all this bull s*it." I barked. Everyone quickly scrambled to their desks. "That's better." I hissed sitting back down.

~Time Skip, Shoto's POV~

Once the bell rung, signaling the end of school, I was going to wait out by the gate like the other times until I noticed (Y/N) fast asleep on her desk. I slung my bag over my shoulder and walked over, tapping her shoulder. No response. "Umm....(Y/N)?" I questioned. Midoriya noticed my predicament. "Oh, did she fall asleep? That's unlike her." He pointed out, walking over. I tried shaking her awake but no luck. "Oi, the hot head asleep or something?" Bakugo questioned, pushing past Midoriya. He slammed a hand down on her desk causing a loud explosion. "OI WAKE UP!" He shouted. She just continued sleeping. Me and the other two sweat-dropped. "How'd she sleep through that?" Midoriya questioned. I hummed a little. "Let me try something." I said. "(Y/N)! Bakugo is bulling Midoriya again!" I shouted. She shot up, visible eye glowing a bright neon blue. "Where!?" Was all she said. "False alarm." I said quickly. She sighed a lazy smile on her face. "Oh you goat to be kitten me." She said. Midoriya held back a small snicker and pretended to be upset about the puns, Bakugo groaned and walked off, I just cracked a small smile. She looked around, seeing the classroom almost empty. "How long was I asleep? Hero work is my dream job I should really be more serious about it." She said. Midoriya walked off. Her lazy smile never left her face as she snapped her fingers and disappeared. She then reappeared in a blue hoodie with white fur on the hood, a (F/C) undershirt, and black shorts. Smile ever present. She grabbed my wrist. "Welp, let's get a move on. Don't worry I know a shortcut." She said teleporting us out of there. We were at the clearing in a flash. "Let me guess, Sky?" I questioned. "Eyyyy, you're spot on." She said shooting finger guns at me. "Now then." She said pulling out Darkheart's flip phone. Her smile never left but she typed something quickly. "Annnnnnd, get dunked on camera footage." She said, clicking a button. I sweat-dropped. "What did you just do?" I questioned. "Deleted the footage of me teleporting what else?" She question, putting away the flip phone. "I thought you were the lazy one." I said. "Oh I am. But I'm a heck of a lot smarter than I let on. Darkheart ain't the only hacker of the personas." She said with a wink. She stuffed the flip phone in her pocket, leaving her hand in the pocket. "Now then, for training today you'll be learning the art of dodging from a master. Watch and learn kid." She said snapping her fingers. The Gaster Blasters I had seen her using appeared, looming over her as she walked to the middle of the clearing. One fired right where she was but she moved out of the way faster than my eye could keep track, all while her hands were stuffed in her pockets. More of them started firing at once and yet she was still able to get right out of their blast range. She even struck a few posses all with that cocky confident lazy smirk on her face.

(Basically this but no bones, just Gaster Blaster shots)

Once it was done she appeared directly in front of me causing me to jump. "Now then, let's see you try there pal. I'll just be taking a nap don't mind me." She said. "WAIT WHAT!?" I shouted but she was already gone and the Gaster Blasters were already targeting me. "S*it." I cursed, eyes wide. They started firing at me and I moved out of the way as fast as possible. Eventually I started recognizing the different attack patterns of the lasers and avoiding them became easier. It even became fun a little bit. Exhausting as all hell sure, but fun. Fifteen minutes later the blasters disappeared and I just stood there panting. "Well, well, well. You've gotten pretty good at dodging." I turned to see Sky walking out of the shadows, that smile on her face. "But let's see if you can dodge this." She said, summoning a large amount of bones and Gaster Blasters.

I gulped in fear. "By the way, you see a blue bone think of a blue stop sign. Unless you want to get hurt that is." She added. Eye glowing. I dodged a number of bones coming my way and jumped out of the range of Gaster Blaster shot. I had to use my ice to shield me and move out of the way at times but eventually just like before I was able to predict her attacks and move in closer. She stopped when I managed to grab her shoulder. Her smile didn't vanish, but grew in size a little. "Very good." She said, the bones and Gaster Blasters vanishing. "If you could dodge all that you'll be good to go." She said. I just panted on the spot. "What's up? You look bone tired." She said. I just buried my face in her shoulder. "Just shut up and let me borrow your shoulder for a minute." I said. "Whatever buddy." She said shrugging slightly. Once I had caught my breath I sat up straight and dusted myself off. Sky hummed a little to herself pulling out the flip phone. "Heya, we're done almost twenty minutes early. Wanna go to the arcade?" She questioned. "You know what? Sure, that sounds amazing right now." I said. She chuckled. "Heh, don't worry I've got a shortcut." She said grabbing my hand. In a flash we were standing in front of the arcade. She doesn't ask for consent at all does she? I thought, sweat-dropping. I've barely even had time to think during all of this. I realized as we walked into the arcade.

~Your POV~

I chuckled a little, walking into the familiar arcade. "Y'know I used to take Izuku to this arcade all the time before I was sealed away with Velvet and Chibi." I said. "I've mustered almost every game in here." I added. "Really now?" Shoto questioned. I walked up to the Beat Saber game with my ever present smile. "Ah memories. I was always the best with rhythm games. Izuku could never quite ketchup to my level." I said. "Care to demonstrate?" Shoto questioned. I chuckled. "Buddy that was in the past. I'm not sure if I'm nearly as good now as I was back then." I said. "Well you'll never know if you don't try." He pointed out. I sighed. "Ugh fine." I said inserting a token. "Where did you get that-." "Don't ask." I said jumping up onto the plat form. I selected one of my favorite songs and put it on max difficulty. "Well if you don't think you can do it why are you putting it on max difficulty!?" Shoto questioned in shock. My smirk grew. "Buddy, let me tell ya' something. How do you think you can understand your skills if all you ever do is play it safe?" I questioned cracking my knuckles and doing a few stretches. I grabbed the two swords and mentally prepared myself. Once the beat started I tapped my foot, memories flooding back. My smirk grew as I saw incoming. "Looks like someone wants to have a bad time." I said.

I wiped sweat off my brow putting the swords down. Smile still present. "Eyyyyy, I've still got it." I said. Shoto stared at me in shock as well as a few other people. "HOW DID YOU DO THAT!?" Someone shouted. "Practice kiddo. Practice. C'mon Sho." I said, hopping off the plat form and grabbing his wrist. Dragging him somewhere else in the arcade. "Seriously how was that even possible if you haven't played for years?" Shoto questioned as I messed around with a shooter game. "It's thanks to my eye." I said. "I'm good at rhythm games mostly because I've always grooved to different beats. To a point where I can predict where those little blocks are gonna come from. But it all comes down to my eye." I said. "Yes! High score!" I said first pumping the air. I turned back to Shoto pointing at my neon blue eye. "Notice how this eye is a bright neon blue verses the darker (E/C) and red that (Y/N) and the others got from Mom and Dad. But this eye holds more than one secret." I explained. "Haven't you noticed how that when I unleash a really powerful attack this eye starts glowing?" I questioned. He nodded. "This eye can see things that lots of people can't. I can see things that none of the other personas even think exist. Hell I can even see different timelines and universes." I said my eye glowing brightly. "What the...? Timelines? Universes?" Shoto questioned. "Timelines, choices that lead to different things happening. For example, in an RPG where you could choose to not hurt anyone or kill everyone. If you killed everyone you'd face a really annoying and powerful boss. But if you didn't kill anyone and not hurt anyone than you'd never get to see that boss and instead you'd fight like a god or something. I dunno. I'm just spit-balling over here. Different timelines, a timeline for each choice you make. It's the theory that each choice has it's own separate set of events set out before you." I explained. "You following?" I questioned. He nodded. "Universes. Different, alternate worlds parallel ours. Some with little to no change at all. Some with large very noticeable changes. I can see universes where I'm actually a guy. Universes where Bakugo is actually a nice person as shocking as that is. Universes where your father is a chick. Universes where Izuku was born with a...different Quirk. Some ranging from not that powerful to making him the most powerful being in the entire world. Even more so than All Might. I can see universes where Izuku has MPD instead of me. Universes where his mom died and he became an Info Broker. Universes where you're a powerful villain out for the blood of your father. Universes where I don't even exist. Hell I can even see universes where everyone is apart of a d*mn mafia for crying out loud!" I said, laughing slightly. "Hang on, go back." Shoto said, holding up a hand. "You can see universes where I'm a villain?" He questioned in shock. My eye glowed more as a few of those universes clouded its vision. "Those universes are more common than you might think. There are universes where you end up a hero that's later corrupted by the prospect of revenge. Universes where you're partners with a mastermind villain Izuku. There are some where the entire class is an organization of villains." I got a headache so I stopped using my eye. I blinked a little before dropping some eye drops into it. "Sorry. It's hard using my eye like that for longer than five minutes." I said rubbing it before looking at him again. He seemed slightly disturbed. "Why?" Was all he said. I sighed. "Mostly because of Endeavor." I said. "It's the aspect of revenge that plays a large role in those AU's." I explained. "Other times, Izuku brings you into the darkness. In a good majority of those your never a villain alone. Most of the time Izuku is by your side or the mastermind who brought you to the dark side." I said. I slowly backed up until my back hit the wall, a strong headache coming on.

'Ugh, what a pain. I need a nap after this.' I thought. Seeing the look on his face I felt a strong sense of pity. "Hey, kiddo, relax." I said walking over and placing a hand on his shoulder. "This is why I don't like using my eye, and why I've never told anyone about this ability." I said avoiding eye contact. "Looking at universes like that always leaves me with a cold sense of dread. Because it reminds me that all it would take is one misstep, one mistake, one word, that could turn this universe, into one of those universes. It makes me paranoid as all s*it." I said. "Especially when paired with seeing timelines as well. Because I can see the timelines and choices that could possibly lead to this universe turning into one of those universes. It scares me." I said. "That's why I'm always so lazy. Because if I don't do anything, I can't make a mistake. I can't be the cause of bringing this universe to it's destruction or a bad ending. This eye of mine isn't a power, it's a curse. Nothing but a curse. What makes it even more terrifying is when I see myself in these universes." I said. I let go of his shoulder and backed away. I shook my head. "Bah, this is a pointless conversation. Let's just drop it. We aren't here to discus Universe and Timeline theories. Leave that for Quantum Physics. It's an arcade for crying out loud. We should be having fun." I said. "If you have a power like that why don't you use it more often? That basically makes you a god." Shoto pointed out. I rubbed my arm. "Like I said, it's because it scares me. Also don't call me a god. I don't have a god complex, that's my friend." I responded. "And it's impossible to keep track of all those universes and timelines at once. It gives me massive headaches. I hate that I had to be given Monster Soul. And this eye of mine. It's nothing but a curse. Sure I'm one of the more powerful of (Y/N)'s personas. But with great strength comes greater responsibility. And incase you couldn't guess I hate responsibility." I growled. "I can't prevent every bad thing that happens. I can't protect everyone no matter how much I want too. A good half the time if I interfere things only end up worse. There's a reason I keep this power secret. There's a reason no one else knows about it. Because then I'd be forced to use it more and more. To help guide others down the right path. But I want to be the one to decide what to do with this power. And if I decide I don't want to use it than I don't want to use it. Hell not even (Y/N) or the others use this power either, even if they have access to it. It's also just a bad idea to play around with timelines and universes in general. It's not a good idea to play god." I said. I shook my head. Smile still present. "Let's not continue with this conversation. I'd rather avoid talking about it." I said. "How were you able to smile through that? Why do you always smile like that?" He questioned. I sighed. "Kid, somethings are left best unsaid. I should've seen this entire conversation coming and avoided it to begin with. See? This is why I don't like this power. It looms over my head." I growled. I shook my head. 'Snap out of it, quit bringing it up!' I scolded myself. I grabbed his hand and teleported us out of there. Once we were somewhere else I pulled out the flip phone and quickly hacked the arcade footage, deleting any evidence that me and Sho were ever there. I put the phone away before looking around....."Where are we?" I questioned, sweat-dropping.

"I think at the school roof." Shoto responded, looking over the safety rails. I sighed flopping on my back and stareing up at the clouds. I closed my eyes, a small song coming to mind. I hummed a little to myself, relaxing in the fading sunlight. "You should be heading home soon. Times almost up." I said. I heard something ruffle next to me and cracked open my eye to see Shoto laying down next to me, staring up at the clouds. "Father can wait." He responded. I sighed, waving a hand dismissively. "Your funeral man." I said. I heard him chuckle a little bit. I yawned a little, before rubbing my eye. I let my hand flop to my side, too lazy to actually let it down smoothly. I shivered a little, cold wind blowing through. I sat up suddenly with a drowsy expression. I stared out at the setting sun, smile ever present. "Heh, sun's definitely the light of everyone's life." I said. I heard a noise and stood up, walking to the edge of the roof. I looked down to see Bakugo barking something at Izuku. I sighed slightly. "Not this again." I said, thinking out loud. I hadn't noticed Shoto standing up and walking up behind me. "Heh." I chuckled right hand glowing. I traced a shape with the glowing blue energy and a tiny dragon made of bones formed behind Bakugo. I'd say about the length of my arm fully extended. And a little below my knee in height.

I chuckled a little bit as it ran up and bit Bakugo. He shouted a few curses and turned to see what bit him. Once he saw it was a tiny dragon made of bones he tried to blow it up but it dodged smoothly before shooting a Gaster Blaster laser at him from it's mouth. After that he started running as it started shooting more at him. I felt two arms wrap around my waist and turned to see Shoto placing his head on my shoulder watching the tiny dragon chase Bakugo with an amused expression on his face. I ignored him and continued watching the tiny creature chase Bakugo. Bakugo continued shouting random curses and profanity. I chuckled, a little evilly at the sight. I decided to spice things up by giving the dragon teleportation abilities. Bakugo fled the scene causing me to burst out laughing. "Did you just create life?" Shoto questioned. I shrugged. "Not really. Once it's done chasing Bakugo it'll disappear. It's made by the power of Monster Soul but it's not actually alive. It's just a thing I can use to torture the hedgehog." I responded. He sighed slightly. "How many of you are actual sadists?" He questioned. "Do you really need to ask that question?" "Touche."

'Opinion On Villain Universes: Sky'

Sky: 'Personally I don't mind the villain universes. I find them interesting to study in my free time besides napping. Sure they disturb me, and I don't want my own universe turning into one of those universes, but still they're interesting and never boring. I just wish they'd stop trying to force Deku and Bakugo into a relationship. Bakudeku is terrible. Kiribaku now that's where it's at I tell ya'. Welp, I'm probably going to get mauled by the fans now. What? Confused on my fourth wall awareness? Too bad, don't bother fixing it, it'll just get broken again. Welp, I'm outta here before everyone brings the tomatoes and pitch forks. Later!' *teleports*
