Todoroki's PoV

We had two days off after the USJ attack to calm down and heal any injuries. I had messaged (Y/N) the entire time but had gotten no response.

I went to school early that day. Maybe I'd have a chance to talk to Michi since she sat next to me. She walks into class, stretching her arms. She sits down next to me and looks over at me. "Sorry about the other day when I hit you," she says cheerfully. "It's OK. What I did worried you so you had every right to be upset."

"But I did mean it when I said I would kill you if you ever did that again," she said. The way she said it so cheerfully scared me and I nod.

"I wonder who our sub will be. Aizawa will probably be out for awhile. His injuries were pretty bad."

"Alright class settle down and get to your seats."

"Mr.Aizawa?!" The class exclaims.

His face was completely covered in bandages and both of his arms were in slings. "It's only been two days. Shouldn't you be resting?" One student asks.

"I have to prepare you for the sports festival."

"There still doing that so soon after the attack on the USJ?" Midoriya asks. "It's a way to show we aren't worried about the League of Villains."

"Makes sense," I say.

"The UA annual sports festival is only a week away. This is not the time to relax on your training so I'd suggest not getting relaxed."

"Wanna train together after school. Unless your dad is home," (Y/N) says. I think about it for a second.

"I don't think he'll be home. Besides I doubt he even remembers you," I say. Her face morphs into hurt.

"Good to know I'm easy to forget."

"What? No he forgets every-."

"I'm kidding! You really need to get a sense of humour."

I don't say anything and instead just pay attention to what Aizawa is saying.

My PoV

The week had passed in a blur and suddenly it was the sports festival. I stood in the field with the rest of the 1st year classes around me.

"I can't believe Bakugou is representing us," I whisper to Tsu and Uraraka. "He's probably gonna say something that'll make us all look bad," Tsu mutters. Uraraka and I nod in agreement.

"I just want to say... I'm gonna win."

Everyone around us, including our classmates begin to boo! "I thought it would get worse to be honest," Tsu says. "Now everyone hates us even more," Uraraka groans.

Midnight steps up onto the platform. The first challenge would be an obstacle course. We all line up at the narrow opening and wait for the light to turn green.

"Just because we're friends doesn't mean I'll go easy on you," I mutter to Todoroki. "Good. I was thinking the same thing."

I grinned almost evilly as the light turns yellow.

Once it turns green we all rush forward. Finally having enough of the pushing and elbows jabbing various parts of my body, I manage to fly up and pass over them with no problem.

Just in time to because right as I exit the tunnel along with Todoroki and a few others he freezes the ground. Everyone with their feet touching the ground is instantly frozen up to their ankles.

"A bit harsh don't you think?" I yell down at him. He doesn't answer. A few people from our class have managed to avoid the ice and continue running after us.

I can hear Bakugou and groan.

Out of nowhere dozens of robots with painted numbers block our path. The ones with the 0's are the biggest and most powerful.

One leans forward and is suddenly frozen over. "How nice of you," I say to Todoroki. He was just a couple of feet away and with his back exposed I take this as my opportunity to attack.

I imagine all my emotions washing out of me and send ice shooting for his feet. It hits and he stops moving.

"Bye!" I yell zooming past him. 1st place goes to me. I know Todoroki will easily melt through the ice but stopping him for even a few seconds gives me an advantage.

The next course is a series of ropes attached to small rock pillars. "Easy," I mutter and sail across.

I look behind me and see Todoroki sliding across the ropes on his ice. Something cold grabs onto my foot and I stop moving forward.

"Apologies," Todoroki says sliding by me. "APOLOGY NOT ACCEPTED!" I shout angrily.

Bakugou shortly follows laughing at me. I shoot boiling water at him and then work on my foot. By the time I'm done I'm in 5th place.

'I can catch up,' I think. I fly ahead and push my wings to the limit. I see Todoroki carefully making his way across what I guess is a minefield.

I continue to fly over and land at the end. I create dozens of orbs of water and scatter them all across the field in front of Todoroki and Bakugou.

Mines exploded in pink smoke and I run to the exit. A few seconds later Midoryia comes through shortly followed by Todoroki and Bakugou.

"Nice job Midoryia!" I say high fiving him. "How'd you do it?" I ask. "I put some mines into a pile and then jumped on it while I was on top of a piece of metal and just flew over the others," he explained.

"Nice! I'd figured you'd something like that since you're smarter than...some people," I say looking at Bakugou.

He noticed and looks like he's about yell but others start to pour out of the opening. I walk up to Todoroki,"So did you try to stop me because you thought you were going to win or just as revenge for doing it to you?" I ask.

"Both."

"But what place are you in? Oh that's right, third." He doesn't say anything. "Wait, you're in serious mode. I'll leave you."

"Next challenge is...calvary battle!" Midnight yells. "Two people in the back one in the front and one on top. Each person will have a ribbon with a number on it," she explains the higher the place you were in the more you're worth.

"1st place is worth 10 million points!" Midnight shouts.

My face pales. 10 million. Everyone stares at me and I know I have a giant target painted on my back.

Every person I walk up to walks away from me. "Todoroki?" I ask. "Yes you can join us," he says. I give him a grateful smile.

It was Momo and Iida in the back and Todoroki in the front with me on top. "So what's the plan?" Momo asks. "Last the 15 minutes without getting my headband stolen," I say. Todoroki nods in agreement.

Everyone would target us almost immediately.

Why'd I have to be so damn good?

Teams rush at us from all directions. "Iida!" Todoroki shouts. I almost fall as Iida propels us forward. We sped past the other teams.

I grip Todoroki's shoulders and tuck in my wings so there wasn't any resistance. I see Bakugou and his team run at us from the right.

I reach out my hand and shoot out a blast of water. It hit him in the eye, temporarily blinding him. "Iida-" I begin.

We propel forward again.

"GET BACK HERE!"

Two teams come at us from both sides. "Todoroki, ice!" I yelled frantically. Ice shoots up on either side of us and both teams slam into it.

"Seven minutes," Momo says. That was still seemed like so much time.

Todoroki's PoV

I could feel (Y/N) tense up. We were still in 1st place with her 10 million but as time ran out other teams became more desperate.

Vines shot out and aimed for (Y/N). She couldn't react fast enough and they wrapped around her waist and one arm.

"Big mistake," she whispers coldly. Her free hand grabs the vines and they are instantly frozen over.

"Momo!" Michi yells holding out a hand. Momo creates a pole and Michi hits the frozen vines. The shattered and she rips them off of her waist.

Three minutes.

"I'm going to win!" Someone yells. Bakugou. (Y/N) lifts the pole and throws it like a spear. Kirishima lifts up his hardened arm to block it.

Two minutes.

An explosion blasts in front of us. Before I could react a wall of water rises in front of us. "Freeze it," (Y/N) commands.

I do what she says. The water stopped most of the explosion and the ice slowed them down while Iida propelled us forward.

30 seconds.

We were going to win!

Midoriya comes at us from in front. I lift my right arm on instinct and fire engulfs in. Water drenches my sleeve. "Todoroki!" I realize what I had done and put my hand down.

Water shoots up in front of us again and forms a barrier around us. It's strained and I can feel (Y/N) panting with the effort to keep it up and solid.

The timer buzzes and the barrier falls. We set (Y/N) down. "I'm just gonna-" she says before laying on the ground. "Come on," Momo says, helping her up. "First place goes to team Michi! Second place goes to team Bakugou and third place to team Midoryia!"

Fourth went to Shinsou! My purple haired, sleep deprived baby.

"Bakugou is throwing a temper tantrum," Michi points out. I look over and sure enough Bakugou is on the ground punching it.

My PoV

I sat in the waiting room with the rest of the classmates that had advanced to the next round. Todoroki walked over to Midoryia. We all stare as he declares war on Midoriya.

"That was a bit harsh," I whisper to Todoroki. "This isn't a game, (Y/N). I have to win this," he says.

"Good for you because I'm gonna beat you. Like the first round," I say. He just looks at me. The first two rounds were easy. It eventually got to the point where it was Todoroki vs. Midoriya.

Todoroki sent wall after wall of ice towards him. Midoriya breaks each finger as he breaks the ice.

Midoriya starts to yell something. I could see Todoroki shaking and ice was spreading over his body. He couldn't last much longer without his fire.

"It's yours! Your quirk not his," I hear Midoriya scream. Todoroki pauses and then his left side begins to steam. Then catches on fire.

Holy crap.

I can see Cementor bring up walls of cement between the two but I know that won't stop them. Midoriya jumps through the air and Todoroki unleashes his power.

Smoke filled the air and I'm pushed into the seat because of this force. "What's happening?" Uraraka asks.

The smoke cleared and they're both standing. Midoriya is outside the ring and collapses on the ground.

I stare in shock at Todoroki.

I leave the sitting area and run down to meet Todoroki. I find him with his father. Endeavor has his back to me.

"Have you finally accepted your destiny!?" Endeavor asks loudly. I stand still. "No," Todoroki says simply before walking past him.

I quickly walk away and meet him like I hadn't heard anything. "You were supposed to beat Midoriya not kill him," I said smiling.

"I did what I had to."

"Good to know. Now put on some clothes," I say looking away from him. The left side of his shirt and pants are gone.

He looked down at himself, "Oh."

"Well I have to go get ready to fight Bakugou. See you in the next round."

Todoroki's PoV

I sit in the stands with the others. Midoriya is with Recovery Girl and I can't help but feel grateful. He helped me remember so many things I had forgotten.

My PoV

Bakugou looks like he's going to enjoy beating me. "I'm going to make you pay for what you did," he yells.

"On the first day of school? You know how to hold a grudge." Explosions blasts from his hand and towards me. I bring up a wall of water to stop the explosions.

Jets of water shoots out from my hand. They slam into him and he's pushed back a few inches.

He uses a blast from each hand to propel himself into the air. I stumble back and the ground cracks where his fist landed.

'Do it, (Y/N)'

Ice shoots out of one hand and boiling water out the other. My body screams in pain. Ignore it as Bakugou tries to avoid the ice closing in around him and the water that threatens to burn him.

The ice dome closes in around him and I use the few seconds I had to prepare my trap. He bursts out of it and froze.

An ice spear came barreling at him. He blasts it into pieces. "Is that all you got?!"

"Hardly."

I snap my fingers and the ice daggers positioned behind him shoot into his back. He falls forward onto his hands and knees.

Blood soaks through his clothes. I prepare to drag him out of the ring when he stands up shakily.

"Pathetic," he rasps.

I gasp.

The biggest explosion I've ever seen Bakugou produce blasts towards me. I wrap my wings around myself before it could hit my skin.

'Oh gods my wings burn.'

I felt my feet being pushed backwards.

I set up a shield of water that quickly starts to evaporate. I shoot some ice out behind me and to the right. The ice I sent to the right slammed into Bakugou's side before he could react and he went flying off the field.

I collapsed on the ground and stick my arms up in victory. "Hooray!"

Todoroki met me in Recovery Girl's room. "That was a good match." "Thanks." My burnt wings were all better and I stood up.

"See you in a little bit!" I grin and run off.

I stood in across from Todoroki on the platform. Now what he decided to use his fire it would be a lot harder to beat him.

I tapped my foot nervously as I wait for present mic to tell us to start. "FIGHT!" Todoroki wasted now time sending a wall of ice shooting towards me.

I let myself be encased and was out of sight for a second. I send out some boiling water and blasts out of it. Todoroki saw the boiling water and his eyes widened. He wasn't afraid of me, it was the water.

The water went back to a normal temperature.

He does the same thing he did with Deku during their awesome battle.

I lay on the ground.

"Why is everybody trying to kill me?!"

I didn't even care I had lost. That had been terrifying! "I-I don't think I can get up." He walked over to me and offered his hand.

"Stop burning your clothes off."

I took it and immediately blush. 'I think I like Shoto Todoroki. Gross'
