"I will crush you"

My hands were shaking after hearing his threat. It was strange seeing him this fired up, his eyes were so serious as if his life depended on this festival. I was curious what the reason for this was... While I was busy thinking about the reason I noticed how a cold breeze started to rise from the soil beneath me. My head snapped in Shoto's direction, realizing what he was planning. I was greeted by his serious face.

"You shouldn't have messed with me!" he whispered and directly after his lips stopped moving the start signal went off. He dashed ahead, freezing the ground behind him so that everyone was immobilized.

"He really is serious..." I clenched my teeth.

"But it needs more than that to hold me back!" I crushed the ice around my feet and jumped up above the others.

"I'm not gonna loose to you!" I started running next to my classmates who also escaped his trap. Shoto created some distance thanks to his trap but he soon stopped once the vaux villain from the entrance exam blocked his way.

"Oh no... it's this huge thing again... the 0 points robot" I uttered, thinking of a way to get past him.

However Shoto already took care of him while I was still thinking and rushed ahead once again. The large robot was frozen but it looked anything else but stable. He set another trap to make the gap bigger.

"Hell no! as if I'd let you leave me behind like this!" I jumped up and created small clouds which I used as stairs to claim higher into the sky until I got past the giant robot. It started crumbling and crashed on the ground, burying Eijiro under it. My eyes widened, worried if he was alright. I stopped for a moment to see if he was ok and thank god he crashed through the piles, giving off a pissed of growl. I smiled relieved and continued to push forward.

I reached the next obstacle and stopped at the edge of the cliff, this looked difficult... I spotted Shoto in the corner of my eye and watched how he balanced on the ropes with the help of his ice.

"Whatever you can do, I can too" I pulled the arms of my training suit up to get ready. I took a deep breath and calmed myself before I stepped on the rope and balanced myself. I manipulated the air so that the wind around me would keep me stable while I crossed over to the next platform. The others were close behind us, of course, everyone wanted to win. I set foot on the ground and continued running towards the next obstacle. Bakugou blasted past me with his explosions sending my hair flying all over my face and dimming my sight. He reached Shoto in no time and battled him for the lead. The last obstacle was a mine field and very dangerous to travel by foot.

"Guess it's better if travel above it" I jumped up to create my cloud stairs, climbing one after the other. I observed the 2 still battling for the lead. Bakugou's explosions were warming up the air, which collided with my clouds. I noticed how the consistence changed and became thinner.

"This is bad! If he keeps heating up the air like this I will fall" I clenched my teeth, thinking of a different plan. Shoto's ice also stir up the air consistence, making the molecules collide with each other. Right now I could create whatever element I wanted thanks to the variety they created for me. However I took too long to think which one to manipulate that the heat destroyed my clouds and I stepped into the air right after my cloud puffed.

"Huh?" I looked down as I found myself standing on nothing but thin air.

"B-Bad!! This is bad!!" I fell down towards the mine field, reacting quickly to stop my fall by manipulating the hydrogen. The molecules gathered and manifested to create a large water drop on which I landed softly.

"That was close..." I let out a sigh, riding on my water drop. I stared down at Bakugou and Shoto who where still fighting over the lead.

"You see? I am not falling behind! I am just as good as you are!" I smiled to myself, proud that I managed to make it this far. A large explosion caught everyone's attention, seeing Midoriya riding his shield and taking the lead within the blink of an eye. We almost reached the other side but another explosion covered the area and made me cover my eyes from the blast. Midoriya rushed on ahead, being the first who walked through the finish line.

I crossed the finish line as 4th, looking over to Bakugou who seemed anything else than happy about his rank.

"Deku!!" he cursed under his breath. Shoto walked past him and out eyes met. I expected him to speak another threat after I ignored his previous one but to my surprise he stayed silent. I followed him with my eyes as he walked away.

"Good job!" Eijiro walked up from behind, giving me a warm smile.

"Thanks! Same goes for you Mr. immortal!" I chuckled lightly, referring to the giant robot who fell on top of him. He blushed embarrassed and scratched the back of his head.

"That was a piece of cake!" he grinned.

The next round was cavalry battle... in this game Midoriya was the main target because of his score in the first round, his head was worth ten million points. Everyone stared at him like a predator, ready to rip him apart.

"Wanna team up with me?" I turned around, looking at Kyoka's face.

"W-What me?" she smiled

"Yes, you!" I was surprised to be asked but did not turn down her offer. Once everyone teamed up we were ready to go. I was riding on top, looking at the competition and the audience. My eyes widened suddenly as I detected Endeavor, Shoto's father in the crowd. I could not help my rising heartbeat; his presence laid a large weight on my shoulders... just like back then...

"H-He is here... I should have known, this is a great chance after all for Shoto... why am I so surprised to see him?" I lowered my head and tried to keep it together.

I looked over to Shoto who was teaming up with Momo, Ida and Kaminari. His eyes also traveled up to the audience where his father was sitting.

"And you'll hold them off with your ice and fire, Todoroki?" his eyes twitched.

"In battle, I refuse to use my left side" My eyes widened as I heard his words.

"Refusing his left side? Come to think of it... I never saw him using his left side so far, he always uses his right side... I wonder why that is..."

"Hello?? Anyone home?" Kyoka asked with wide eyes, waving in front of my face.

"Huh?" I turned around to her.

"You were spacing out, is everything alright?" she asked concerned.

"Yeah, everything is alright, I was only thinking of a plan to start things off" I smiled at her, removing my eyes from Shoto.

"Good, then what exactly is your plan?" she asked curiously.

"Well... my plan is..." I looked at her, Koda and Sato.

"Sato, you are responsible for our defense" Sato smiled, all fired up.

"Kyoka, you keep your ears open and guide us away from the competition" Kyoka nodded.

"Koda, you are tracking down the others who scored higher points and check how many headbands they already collected" Koda was a little nervous but agreed.

"Ok, I think we are all set! I will distract the enemy using my molecules to deflect any surprise attacks and keep my eyes open." Everyone agreed with the plan.

"Ok! Let's do our best everyone!"
