I was running down the hallway trying to find my classroom. It was already 08:01 am and I was late on the very first day of school. I finally caught the sign of the classroom 1-A and rushed towards the door, ripping it open like a wild animal.
"I AM TERRIBLY SORRY FOR BEING LATE!" I bowed my head as I exclaimed. After a moment of pure silence I raised my head only to be greeted by confused and weird stares by my classmates.
"The teacher is not here yet?" I though, slowly realizing I made a fool out of myself for nothing.
"S-Sorry..." I apologized with a red face and let go off the door. My shaky feet entered the room and headed towards the only available seat that was left and sit down. A gloomy aura was resting over me for making myself the class clown in less than a minute...
"Looks like we are complete" a deep voice said as suddenly a creepy looking guy in a sleeping bag entered the room. He was no other than the pro hero "eraser head".
"I am your homeroom teacher, the name's Aizawa Shouta" he introduced himself lazily. Everyone who's dream was to become a hero knew who this guy was.
"Why do you want to become a hero (First name)? What do you like to accomplish?"
My eyes popped open as someone tipped my shoulder with a stack of papers.
"Oi! Are you taking them or what?" my head turned towards the person next to me and was greeted by his angry glare. I gulped and suddenly my eyes widened as I examined his face closer, I could not believe that I'd ever see him again... he still looks the same as back then, the only thing that changed was the large burn scar under his left eye.
"Oi! Are you going to continue stare or pass on the papers??" his voice sounded annoyed and I quickly took the papers from his hand and passed them on to my next seat neighbor.
"S-Sorry" I apologized and looked away from his face. My heart was pounding and I could feel my hands shaking a little.
"Stay away from Shoto, you are only holding him back from realizing his true dream! There is no place for someone like you in his life!"
My eyes turned sad as I remembered the words that Enji said to me after I developed my quirk. Since he found out about my abilities I was not allowed to visit Shoto anymore and my parents suddenly moved to another city. I looked at the paper and then let my eyes wander towards Shoto, carefully without him noticing it.
"I am sure he does not remember me by looks only... since I've changed a lot... when I developed my quirk and started using it regulary to become stronger my hair color changed as well as my eye color... since I was able to manipulate any type of molecules I also damaged my body in the process because the chemicals I absorbed were poisonous, until I learned how to properly control my quirk without causing myself any fatal damage" gripped my pen tightly.
"The only way he will notice, is when Iuse my quirk in front of him"

We gathered at the school training yard in our training clothes, Aizawa prepared a fitness test for us to see how well we could use our quirks. I was nervous to use my quirk, because once I did it Shoto would realize who I was... I touched my hand and tried to calm my shaking before the test started.
I tried not to rely on my quirk so much, especially when I knew Shoto was watching. I was doing really bad in the test, along with another student called Midoriya.
"At least I am not the only one who sucks" I thought but when the last test came up I was forced to use my quirk at full in order to pass, after all it was also my dream to become a hero. I was waiting for my turn and my knees were shaking terribly. I was scared what his reaction was once he found out about my identity... would he confront me in front of everyone?
"(Last name)! you're up next" I heard Aizawa calling my name and I jumped.
"Show us what you can do" he said and tossed me the baseball. I nodded my head nervously and my eyes looked over my shoulder, seeking Shoto's face before I turned around and closed my eyes.
"Calm down... there is no helping it anyway... we are in the same class, he will find out sooner or later" I said to myself and took a deep breath before I leaned myself back and activated my quirk. I manipulated the nitrogen in the air to give my ball a massive amount of speed, resembling a tornado that carried the ball within it's core. It worked just as I thought but I did not dare to turn around because I was not ready to confront myself with Shoto's expression.
"Not bad at all... you set a new record" Aizawa complimented and showed me the phone. My eyes widened and I suddenly heard cheering from behind me.
"NICE THROW!!"
"Yeah! you even beat Bakugou!"
"Shut UP!"
I turned around and saw the impressed faces of my classmates. I also caught a glimpse of Shoto's face and he reacted differently than I thought, he was actually monotone like he did not care at all.
"Did he not notice?"
"Alright, the last one is Midoriya" I headed back to the others and was surprised that a girl talked to me.
"You can handle your quirk really good!" she complimented me with a smile.
"Thank you" I smiled back and she introduced herself.
"I am Uraraka Ochako, nice to meet you" she offered me her hand and I took it.
"Nice to meet you too, I am (Last & First name)" I introduced myself and we watched Midoriya trying his hardest in the test to pass.

The first day was almost over, thank god everyone passed the test. I changed back into my school uniform and headed back to the classroom to pick up my bag.
"(First name) wait up!" I heard Ochako's voice behind me.
"What's up?" I turned around to look at her.
"Want to walk home together?" she asked with a smile
"Sure" I replied and she started walking next to me. We collected our shoes and walked out the front door, we only just left the school yard when I heard someone calling us.
"Hey! You there!" we stopped and turned around, my eyes widened as I found Shoto heading towards us. I stepped away from Ochako because I knew his anger would be directed at me. He approached me with large steps and eyes that could kill. He passed Ochako and grabbed my arm to slam me into the next wall.
"Ahh!" I let out a painful cry as his hand tightly squeezed my wrist.
"I knew it was too much of a coincidence... that name of yours... the ability to manipulate molecules... you appearance is different though but I am 100% sure that it's YOU!" I gulped nervously, so he did realize who I was.
"S-Shoto... I" his eyes twitched and he froze my wrist in anger, spreading the ice over the entire wall behind me.
"How dare you show your face like this after all these years! Do you really think I have forgotten what you said to me back then?? Do you think it's alright to call my name so carelessly after so many years passed?" my eyes were shaking, he was so angry that I was afraid to say anything in return.
"Hey stop that!" Ochako suddenly interfered, she had no idea what was going on.
"Stay out of this!" Shoto yelled at her.
"S-Shoto please let me expl-" he cut me off
"Silence!! I don't need your explanations nor your apologies! You are nothing more than a traitor... I can't believe I trusted you" my eyes filled with tears as I saw the disappointment and hatred in his eyes. How badly did I want to tell him that what I said to him back then wasn't true...I was forced to say those things... He lowered his face, to his his expression and slowly removed his hand from mine, melting the ice around my wrist with his left hand.
"I will crush you, if you dare to get in my way" he warned me with a scary look in his eyes before he let go of my hand and walked away from us. Ochako rushed towards me worried.
"(First name)! are you alright?" she asked with shaking eyes.
"Yeah... I'm fine" I replied, watching how Shoto walked away.
"I did not know you two knew each other" she said, looking after him as well.
"We do but... after what I did I can not claim that we still do" Ochako's eyes widened.
"What did you do?" she asked curious, I paused a moment because it was hard to explain the reason.
"When we were still kids, I used to live next to Shoto..." I started.
"We did not play often because his father always wanted him to train hard to become a hero. His mother however always allowed me in to play with Shoto, until the day our quirks manifested. Shoto awakened his quirk before me and since then we saw each other less than before but there were still times we sneak out to play anyways. He was with me when I awakened my quirk and we had a match for fun. His father however found out about my quirk and saw it as a nuisance since I was able to manipulate molecules which interfered with Shoto's abilities... He called me out alone when Shoto was training and told me to stay away from him, I was nothing but a bad influence for his son and would only waste his time that he could use to become the new number 1 hero. I refused at first because Shoto was my friend and I made a promise to him that I would never leave him alone.. But I was left without a choice... his father was persistent and threatened to ruin my fathers business if I did not leave him alone, we barely had any money so there was nothing I could do at that age... I ended up agreeing against my will and had to quit the friendship. I can never forget the look in his eyes when I told him the reason why we can't be friends anymore"
"I am sorry Shoto... but we can't be friends anymore, I realized that I am just not good enough for someone like you... I don't want to be the reason that you are holding yourself back, there for I decided that it is better if we stop interacting with each other"
"B-But you promised that you'd never leave me! Why do you do it then? Was all you said to me just a lie? Even... our promise?"
"Forgive me... but it's just as you say... everything I said to you including out promise was all a lie..."
"... You were really close" I nodded sadly.
"Yeah.. but all that is left now is his anger and hatred towards me..." she looked at me with wide eyes.
"But I am sure if you explain to him why you had to do it then I am sure he will forgive you!" I shook my head.
"No, I won't tell him because it won't change anything after so many years, he already has enough weight to carry... I can't put on even more weight on his shoulders" her hopeful face faded.
"But... isn't there a way to make things right? You are clearly suffering and I am sure he does too" I smiled weakly.
"You have no idea how eagerly I wish that this day never happened... but no matter what I say, he won't believe me anyway because I am a traitor in his eyes and that won't change."
