Todoroki pov

"Hey, Todoroki, are you awake?"

My breathing stopped and my stomach sank. Was he awake this whole time? Did he just get up?

Answer. You need to answer.

Should I answer?

I breathe in and start to turn over so I'm on my back, "Yeah, I'm awake."

I glanced to Izuku and he seemed surprised to see me up. He looked me in the eyes, "I didn't wake you up, did I?"

Hahaha, I've been awake the whole time. But I can't say that.

"Don't worry, its fine," I say rubbing my eyes, just for affect.

"Oh, okay." He said looking back down at his feet.

"Are you not sleeping well?" I ask.

"Yeah.."

Tell me he isn't like this because of the movie.

"Midoriya?" I say looking at him.

He had his head resting on his knees. He was so scrunched up. The little light from outside barely hit his face. Just so I could see the outline of some of his features.

"Yeah?" He glanced down to me.

"You aren't staying up because of the movie? Are you?"

Even with the faint light, I saw his expression get flustered.

"Uh.. No! I'm..." he said glancing around the room.

Oh my god. I can't believe the movie scarred him this much. I start laughing.

"It was scary okay? And I don't watch many horror movies. So.. so"

I smile at him. He can't be serious.

"It wasn't that bad, are you kidding me?" I say leaning up to match his stance.

"I know! I know it's stupid."

I look at him the best I could. He definitely looked tired and his eyes were slightly puffy and glossed over from constant yawning.

"Alright, well I'm not gonna go to sleep until you get over your fear of the movie," I say sitting cross legged.

He looked to me with his mouth slightly open, "That's gonna take way too long."

He looks at me, eye to eye, for only a few seconds before I had to tear my gaze away.

"I'm not going to sleep until you do, and that's final."

..........

"Just think about it! There was nothing real about that movie, like how they decided to go swimming in the middle of the night, even though there were warnings posted. No ones that dumb."

Izuku smiled at me and nodded along as I filled the silence. We had been talking for a good 10 minutes now. He was just telling me what scared him from the movie and I was doing the best I could to debunk it.

"And don't even get me started on that monster they had. What was their explanation? Chemicals being dumped into the water? I doubt it would mutate the fish like that."

"Yeah, I guess."

I lean back placing my hands behind me to support myself, "The only thing that was close to reality was the crapshoot of a romance they put in it."

I look at him and he's still listening to everything I say.

I continue, "I mean, that wasn't even close to being real. No one falls in love that fast."

I pause in my speaking.

Izuku took a breath. "That was the one part I thought was somewhat real," he said with a slight laugh.

"Well, I guess in a movie with mutant fish, a sappy romance is as real as it gets."

He laughs again, "You don't have to be so harsh, I mean, how would you know.."

Izuku looked off, away from me, "Have you ever fallen in love?"

...

I stay still.

The room grew silent.

Say something, say something. Just say something. Just say anything.

I answer, "I don't know yet." Not exactly true, but it should be a satisfying answer. I don't feel ready yet to say it.

Izuku gave me a quick look, "Yeah..."

He looked away again, "I feel the same way."

I felt a weight over my torso. "I feel the same way". What does that mean.

I should ask.

Maybe I'll tell him.

Right now.

The time feels right.

Holy shit, I think I'm gonna do it.

"Hey, Midoriya?"

He looked at me with curious eyes, "What is it?"

I starred back for a little while taking in the softness of his face.

"I've wanted to tell you-"

"Ahh!! Is it 2:30 yet?" Iida cut me off. He shot up from his sleeping position.

Iida had just about scared Izuku and I half to death. We had both jumped back in the opposite direction and were breathing hard.

"IIDA! What the heck are you doing up?" I say.

"It's 2:30 a.m. Time for my early morning run!" He completely stood and ripped off his pajamas. Underneath was a full workout suite of which I could only assume he wore to bed.

Iida, I swear to god you make no fucking sense.

I try to wrap my head around what is happening, "Do you do this every day?" I say confused and slightly pissed.

"Without fail!" He made his way to the door, "See you in a little! Midoriya, Todoroki." He was gone.

My breathing slows back to normal.

"He could have told us that this was part of his routine," Izuku said.

"Yeah, that was.. surprising, but not unexpected for Iida."

Both of us make our way back to our sleeping mats.

"So, do you think you can get some sleep now?" I say finding my way to the covers.

"Yeah, I feel a lot better than before." He sits down in his place. He looks down, and talks with a quite voice, "Thank you for that."

Okay, that was the cutest thing I've ever seen.

"It wasn't a problem, try and get some rest." I begin to lay down.

"Oh wait!" Izuku said with urgency.

I look to him, "What's up?"

He immediately got shy, "Were you, um... about to tell me.. something?" He looked into my eyes.

I stopped moving to think.

Yeah, I was about to tell you something.

"Eh, it's not too important, I'll tell you later." I finish getting in the covers facing away from Izuku.

"Oh, okay."

I hear Izuku get in the covers as well.

With that, our late night conversation came to an end.

......

I slowly came back to consciousness. There was a soft breeze against my face.

Dammit, did Iida open a window?

I kept my eyes closed shut. Is Izuku still here? I hope he was able to go to sleep. I can't believe I fell asleep.

OH FUCK THATS RIGHT

My dumbass sleep deprived mind was close to telling him last night.

Man am I a fucking idiot. I can't get that close again.

Maybe I should thank Iida for stopping me. Though Uraraka might actually kill him for interrupting.

But I can't stop thinking about what he said.

I feel the same way. Is it possible that he likes someone?

There is movement in front of my face. I cracked an eye and the morning sun just about blinded me. Through squinted eyes and blurred vision I looked in front of me.

About three inches away from my face was Izuku.

HOLY F#!%

I stayed still with eyes wide open. I wasn't breathing.

WHAT THE FUCK AM I DOING.

I sat up straight faster than I could think about what happened. I covered my month with both hands. Every muscle I had was tense.

No way, no way, no way, no way. I was sleeping, literally inches away from him.

How long were we like this? Who moved to who?

Where's my diary? I gotta write this shit down.

I looked around the room. Iida wasn't there. I looked to where he slept. He must have came back because all his crap was folded nicely.

I can't believe Iida left us alone. What a chaperon he is.

I look back at Izuku. He was completely undisturbed by my motion.

His hair was messy and his mouth was parted. His face looked so soft, like it was glowing.

Man, am I fucking gay or what.

Looking at the time, it was 7:17 in the morning.

I wanna wake him up. I wanna see what he looks like when he just gets up and is fighting off sleep. I wanna see him struggle to keep his eyes open as he clued in to the world around him. I wanna hear his voice.

My hand moves without me telling it to and lands on his shoulder.

Wow, where'd this sudden confidence come from?

I gently shake him awake, "Midoriya."

He barely opens his eyes and looks at me while still lying down. He then shuts his eyes tight and breathes in deeply. As he moved under my hand he made a small groan, "What time is it?"

"A little past 7," I take my hand away.

"So early," he said and completely turned over so he was on his front face down. His arms were wrapped around the pillow supporting his head.

Okay! That's illegal, there is no way it's legal to be that cute.

Maybe I should have told him.

"The rest of them are down stairs, I think I can smell them cooking food."

Izuku stayed still for a moment, "Okay." He got up and sat back on his feet. He rubbed his eyes with his hands. "Do you want help cleaning up first?"

I stood up and stretched, putting my arms above my head. "No, we can worry about that later. I'm really hungry so we can go now."

"Ah, okay." He got up too and we walked out of the room.

He walked in front of me slowly as he was still tired. He climbed down the stairs leaning against the wall.

Cute.

We walked into the kitchen, and got greeted by a feast of a breakfast.

"Morning sunshines!" Uraraka came up to us. "I hope you like the little spread we put together!" She leaned over slightly and stuck her arm out to the island where plates were set out for us. Fuyumi was washing something in the sink and Iida was filling up glasses of water.

It smells like fucking heaven in here.

"Wow! It smells like heaven in here," Izuku said.

Ha

Haha

I just thought that.

It's like we're... meant to be.

I sat down on the bar stool. And started filling my plate with the food I front of me. Soon Uraraka and Iida took there places with me. Fuyumi was starting the coffee.

"Hey, Midoriya, come take a seat-" I turned and looked at him.

He had his gaze stuck on his phone, "Uh sorry, I'll be right back." He walked into the other room.

I starred at where he went for a small amount of time.

I swear our time together always gets interrupted.

"I'm guessing it was All Might," Uraraka said and then took a drink.

"Without a doubt," Iida said.

"Okay, now. I need to know the juicy stuff," Uraraka set her glass down with some force and looked me dead in the eyes. "Tell. Me. Everything."

.......

"WHAT!! YOU WERE THAT CLOSE?" Uraraka basically shouted.

"Shhhhh!! Izuku is right over there!!" God! She's so loud when I tell her things!

She turned to Iida. "WHY WERENT YOU THERE FOR A PICTURE? YOU HAD ONE JOB IIDA!!"

"I could have never done that to them! Slumber should be a time of privacy and have no such disturbances!"

Uraraka basically had fire in her eyes, "I'll show you disturbances!"

Iida was taken back by the threat.

Oh! I should tell them about what happened in the middle of the night.

"Oh! One more thing." I said. "I almost told him."

They both went quite. Slowly they looked to me and the atmosphere changed.

Was it something I said?

"Told. Him. What?" Uraraka said.

"Ummmm," I twisted my hair. "I maybe, almost, kinda, confessed. Only almost though," I laughed.

"Why. Didn't. You." The fire in her eyes grew.

Should I throw Iida under the bus? Nah, she wouldn't let him live.

"It just didn't... feel right?" I said.

"God dammit!" She put her elbows on the counter and rested her face in her hands, "At the rate this fan fiction is going, I'll be 20 by the time you get together!"

Iida patted her back, "All in good time, all in good time."

Izuku walked back in the room, "I'm sorry for walking out," he said and sat down.

We continued on with breakfast.

...........

Iida pov (bet you didn't see this coming)

"Thank you for inviting me into your place of living!" I bowed at Todoroki.

"Yeah, sure, no problem dude."

"Yeah! Thanks it was a lot of fun!" Uraraka said.

"I will see you at school tomorrow! Goodbye now!" I say to Todoroki.

"See you later Todoroki!" Uraraka winked.

"Yeah! Bye guys!" With that Todoroki closed the door.

Uraraka insisted we take off earlier than Izuku so they could be alone. Even though Todoroki didn't want to be left alone.

But now as we walk away I have to tell her what happened this morning.

She walked in front of me by a few feet.

"Uraraka, I need to tell you something."

"Yeah, sure, what is it?" She said while still walking.

"It's about this morning, with Midoryia and Todoroki."

She stopped in her path and whipped her head around.

"What," she took a step towards me. "Is," another step, "It?"

I stumble back a step, "Um, it happened when I got back from my run."

FLASHBACK

"Ahh! What a nice way to start the day! With a 20 mile run!" I wipe the sweat from my brow with my towel and make my way to Todorokis room.

"Oh! I must be quiet! They are still probably sleeping." I open the door to his room slowly.

I see Izuku and he is completely awake sitting on his sleeping mat. He is surprised by my opening of the door and turns his head, "Oh. It's just you Iida."

I look to my watch, "Its only 6:30, I thought you'd still be asleep." I walk in the room. Todoroki is completely passed out next to Izuku.

"I don't know, I'm just not tired at all right now."

"Oh, okay, well the rest of them are up. We were gonna make breakfast if you wanna join in?" I walk to my bag and grab my water.

"Oh, um.." Izuku trailed off and looked to the sleeping Todoroki, "I think I'll stay here, until Todoroki wakes up."

I drink the water, "Ah, okay, well come down when ever you want." I exit the room and close the door.

As I walk to the stairs, I try to make sense of what I saw.

I acted as if I didn't see it so I wouldn't embarrass Midoryia.

But, right when I open the door, I'm sure I saw Midoryia retract his hand from Todoroki.

I shake the idea from my head.

I'm sure it's nothing. He would tell us if he had feelings.

Right?
