Namjoon stuck by his promise. Every night, Jin's phone would light up with Joon's name flashing across the screen. No sooner did the hybrids hear the ringtone, they would climb into bed around Jin and cuddle close to him, eager to see their dad on video. Jungkook would clamber up into Jin's lap, Yoongi on one side with Hoseok clinging to him, Jimin on his other side, and Taehyung behind him with his chin resting on Jin's broad shoulder.

It was the cutest sight that Namjoon was greeted with for the past four nights. His heart would dance with joy. How adorable were his babies.

It was almost an hour later when the hybrids dozed off. Taehyung had somehow managed to fall asleep on Jin's shoulder while standing up.

"How does he feel comfortable in that position?" Namjoon chuckled.

"I have no idea but my neck hurts seeing him like this," said Jin with a grunt as he carefully tugged Taehyung off his back and placed the sleeping tiger hybrid in his lap next to Jungkook.

"They miss you so much, you know?" said Jin after a while.

"And you don't?" Namjoon teased.

"You know I do." Jin huffed.

Namjoon chuckled.

A pause.

"I miss them too. And you. Just one more day. And I'll be there."

"I know. It's just...since we adopted them, they've never spent a day without the two of us. Jimin keeps waking up every morning and running to the front door asking me to open it and check if you're outside. Joon-ah, it really breaks my heart each time I open it to show him you aren't there. He has cried every morning for the past four days. He keeps asking if you'll return."

Namjoon's heart aches.

"Yoongi always curls up in your favourite seat on the couch. He's always there. I guess he can smell your scent or something. He doesn't move from there unless it's time for their meals or time for bed."

Namjoon can't help the small smile that tugs on his lips. He hasn't heard something that adorable yet heartbreaking before. And he's not exactly sure how to digest it.

"Jungkook keeps crying when he misses you. He just cries. He'll sit in one place and sob his tiny lungs out. It's impossible to comfort him sometimes but I just hold him till he calms down or tires himself out. Hobi has nightmares of you never returning home and gets really spooked by those. Gosh, his wails are absolutely heartbreaking and Taehyung, he just keeps sitting and looking at the front door as if you'll walk in any minute. But at the end of the day, when it's time for bed, and I tell him so, he looks up at me with big teary eyes saying "daddy is not coming" and oh my gosh, that just rips my heart right out of my chest."

"Jinnie—" Namjoon starts when he catches Jin's eyes glaze with tears.

But the man goes on.

"The past few days, they've all cried. All of them. And I hate it, Joonie. My babies are hurting so much and there's not much I can do to help them or make them feel better. They need you. I need you," Jin cried silently, his fingers gently running through Jimin's hair.

"Aish, baby," Namjoon smiled, tearing up, "I'm coming back home in a day. Don't cry. I love you."

"I love you too."
