When she was born, her mother gave her a teddy bear. One with beautiful tan fur and a blue ribbon around the neck.

She slept with it until she could walk.

She dragged it around the house.

Held it in her arms on car rides.

Sat next to it during meals.

Had tea parties with it.

Went to daycare with it.

Preschool with it.

Kindergarten with it.

To her mother's funeral with it dressed in black.

She named the bear "Teddy" after her mom.

Teddy went to middle school with her.

Teddy helped her transition into high school.

Teddy was there on her first date.

Teddy was in the car at her prom.

Teddy was in the stands at graduation.

Teddy hugged her when she got accepted into college.

Teddy winked at her when she got her diploma.

Teddy was in her purse at her first job interview.

Teddy was in her bag at her first job.

Teddy was on the date with Mr. Right.

Teddy was there for the engagement.

Teddy was front row at the Wedding.

Teddy blessed their first house.

Teddy held her hand in the delivery room.

Teddy looked after their first and second child.

Teddy patted her on the back for being a good mom.

Teddy saw the grandkids and watched them grow.

Teddy attended her husband's funeral.

Teddy embraced her as she laid on her deathbed...

She held Teddy to the light one last time. Watching how her fingers stroked the tan fur. Pleasantly surprised to find that it's bow was still a vivid blue. She smiled and brought the bear back down to her chest. She closes her eyes.
