[NAME] KÖNIG: You know nothing of the sort. Let it hurt until it can't hurt anymore.
BENJAMIN LEBEAST: But you didn't go through all that for nothing.
Every story has a lesson. An action equal to its opposite reaction.
Every action has a reason behind it.
Was there a reason why they decided to capture a god and put him on an island that limited his powers, and access to the Underworld? Was there a reason to villain-ise one god who just so happened to be king of some type of hell, when the other gods were worse?
There was. It was probably bullshit, but there was a reason. There's always a reason; regardless of how stupid it was.
And it's not really like the King of the Dead could really leave, could he? There was a barrier around the Island. No way in, and no way out.
So as sad as the circumstances were, Hades had to raise his kid in this purgatory (metaphorically speaking).
And as much as he hated living there, [Name] König didn't want to leave the Isle of the Lost. Even if he could leave, where else could he go?
No other place would be as accepting of Villains as the Isle was, (even though the Isle was kind of forced to accept them, since it was basically a prison land slash island) and how would he even get out?
The island was his home, and as much as he said he wanted to get out of there, he loved the Isle.
Plus, being the son of a god. Number 1, being able to get what you want from people with a menacing glare. Number 2, no one will try you because they don't want to feel the wrath of a god, and don't know the potential that you have. Number 3, dressing in a way that makes people remember who you are and how different you are to your parents. Number 4, being able to make a name for yourself.
Number 5, being able to get what you want from a person with a sly smile. Number 6, never wanting to leave your reputation behind.
That was, until he was personally picked to start a new life in Auradon. An invitation, of sorts.
Invited was an understatement, he was forced to go. Someone on Auradon decided it was a great idea to bring Villain Kids from the Isle to Auradon (Land of the Heroes) and enrol them at Auradon Prep!
So now he had to go to Auradon and leave his reputation on the Isle behind— the one thing he didn't want to do.
Why was he expected to be alright with leaving his home land and starting a new "good" life somewhere else?
More importantly, how was he supposed to leave his dad and best friends behind like it was nothing?
This place wouldn't hold him, not for long. He'll find his way back to the Isle, count on it.

EVELYN QUEEN: Don't wish for it, instead, you should work for it. Good motto, right?
[NAME] KÖNIG: Eh, depends. It takes grace to remain kind in cruel situations

🕸️ i guess it's fourth times the charm🤷. honestly this fanfic has gone under two different names before, and I decided I was gonna give this fic one last rewrite because I wanted the Ever After High, Monster High, Descendants trilogy that I had planned to be done.
🕸️ I also wanted to make an x reader fic that was kind of angsty just because I felt like it, so what better way to do that than making the reader brothers with Mal (even though i hated that in the og ver. if this book)?
🕸️ the fact that Mitchell Hope is actually Australian and was doing an American accent during the movies makes me impressed tbh, and while I was writing I was imagining Ben speaking with an Australian accent, so if you see an accent mentioned, now you know why.
