World Burn
Being a daughter of a supreme god is nearly impossible. Yes, it may look good in the outside. You can have more friends, you're experienced in almost every field of power, you're one of the most powerful demigods to ever exist. People love you. However, it's these things that force people to never look on the negative side. Being powerful is boring. You don't have a challenge, because everyone around you can die with a snap of your finger. In fact, the entire world could die with a snap of your fingers if you were powerful enough. Everyone who is not your friend fears you, and never realizes you're human too. They think it's merely impossible to just reach out and hug a friend without them dying in your arms.
Aarya glances up at the night sky. Yuki and Ricarro were supposed to be back by midnight, and it's getting awfully close to that time. Aarya knee that if anything was to happen, Ricarro was strong- stronger when he had someone to fight for. If Yuki's curse never existed, maybe all the problems before they even went on this journey would've been solved. However, with one of their communication towers completely destroyed, they'd have to journey to Argentina as soon as possible to figure out what's going on. Aarya turned to face Simon, who was completely shirtless while him and Xylo were training together. Aarya had seen Simon shirtless many times, and knew how muscular he really looked behind the long sleeved hoodie he always wore. As the two sparred, Aarya glanced out into the woods. Having her mind made up, she creeps into the woods in search of the power couple.
Aarya moves another branch past her as she keeps searching, hoping to see a bushy tail, or someone's red arm. However, the deeper she got the more lost she became. When all hope had finally left her body, she was completely lost in the middle of the woods. Aarya felt the mosquitos bite into her skin, getting as much demigod blood as they could. Aarya glanced around, hoping to at least find someone who could help her find her way back. However, she heard feet approach her as she quickly turned around, coming face to face with strangers. A net was in their hands as they stopped dead in their tracks. For a while, the people never spoke to one another, just made eye contact with the female. But then, one of the raiders shouted before throwing the net onto Aarya as the net completely closed on her. Aarya was trapped, and she could see the barrel of a gun facing her.
Aarya quickly froze time the second she got a chance. Seeing a knife one of the raiders dropped, she reached for it and was able to grab it. She began cutting the net open slowly, knowing that if this fails, she could use her Earth- like abilities to throw the men into the depths of the Earth, never to come back out. However, the first method worked only after Aarya began cutting faster. As soon as she was free from the net, she used her abilities to trap the men in trees that rooted from the Earth. Then, she resumed time and watched as the trees rose from the ground, tangling the men, and keeping them trapped in that post. With food they can live on and the daily occurrence of rain, the men wouldn't die- Aarya wouldn't let that happen. However, as soon as she sighed, the men disappeared. Aarya realized she was dealing with monsters, as another group of them appeared behind her once more.
Realizing fighting them was useless, Aarya tried running away, pausing time as much as she could. However, for each second this endless void grabs, the stamina and the overall strength Aarya has slowly decreases until she passes out, or is in need of Ambrosia. Aarya started coughing her own blood, before she stopped using her abilities altogether. Using what she had, a knife, she began tearing the leaves away from her, ducking underneath trees and swinging through the endless woods. However, no matter how many inches or feet she would run, the raiders would always get closer. Aarya finally turned around and sliced her knife right into the raider's abdomen, as it vanished. The second two continued fighting with her until Aarya killed them. However, more kept appearing. Aarya felt hot tears sting her eyes and clog her vision, as she continued fighting the raiders, desperate to just run once more. After 5 endless waves, Aarya was on the ground using her knife to shield herself and fight. By the tenth, Aarya was ready to vomit everywhere. Until she saw a similar figure drop in, killing both of the raiders desperate to get themselves demigod blood. Brown hair and teal eyes, Aarya recognized the figure as Simon as he stood over her, guarding her from anyone attempting to fight her. After a few more waves, he scooped Aarya into his arms, who was too hurt to even object.
At the infirmary tent, Aarya felt the seconds go by as her and Simon day in silence. Xylo hovered around them, muttering about how the two were complete idiots and how it was almost impossible they didn't die. Finally when he left, Simon sighed. "I think he's right- don't be an idiot next time." He said, chuckling. Aarya furrowed her eyebrows, an angry expression on her face as she crosses her arms. "At least admit you were a part of it too." She said. Simon sighed. "Well duh, I couldn't just let my friend die out there, would I?" Aarya shook her head. "If it was September, yes. You would." Aarya felt Simon's hand rest on her head as he messed with her hair. "Silly." He says, before Aarya pushes him. "Idiot." She grumbled.
