"Can we please stop here for today? My head is hurting, and all I want is water." Jade complained to her sister as a group of 4 trudge through Brazil. Simon stretches his hands behind his back, letting the sun sun kiss his already sunburnt body. He closes his eyes for what felt like forever- until Kaktok steps in front of him. "I believe the camp everyone is talking about is that way." Kaktok pointed straight in front of her. "My mom said it was, anyway." Kaktok sighed. She sat on the ground, telling the others it was okay to rest here for the night. Jade went to a nearby river stream and started fetching water from a nearby stream. Aarya landed on the ground and closes her eyes for a moment, allowing the Earth to cradle her body. Simon sat beside her, keeping watch for her. The two had become friends easily after all finding they can relate more than they appear to. However, as soon as Jade walked over, a familiar scent surrounded the group. Simon knew the scent all to well, as his skin started turning pale. Aarya stood up, oblivious to Simon's oncoming panic attack. "What.." Kaktok felt panic rise in her chest as her and Jade slowly came close to each other, until their backs were touching. The two sisters summoned water from the stream- everyone knew a fire was coming. And right as the first droplet of water touched the ground, a fury of fire suddenly surrounded the group. "A-ambush..?!" Simon stood up and squeezed Aarya's hand tightly, as she felt the uncomfortable pain in her hand. "Simon, don't panic." Jade said quietly. Using her water magic, the two were able to open up the circle- until Simon started running.
"Simon!!" Aarya started running after him, before the rest of the group started following her. They left the fire behind them, but Aarya made sure to ask her mother for protecting all the animals. Soon, the group was together but somewhere. Of course, still in a forest, but without the stream. The sun was in a completely different direction- they were now extremely lost. Even worse, the first could be spreading. "Trappers.. Fire trappers." Kaktok muttered, kicking a nearby rock. "Damnit." Jade approached her sister, a huge amount of water suddenly dumping on her head. "KAKTOK!" Jade screamed, before the two got into a water fight. Aarya and Simon glanced around each other before joining in. Time passed.
The first sounds of fire didn't come until everyone was asleep. Kaktok was dreaming of grilled fish, before she smelled it. She furrowed her eyes, thinking it was just some silly game. However, the smell became irresistible to ignore after 5 minutes. Kaktok slowly sat up and yawned, before feeling heat off of something right next to her. Standing up, Kaktok panicked as she saw a flame just sitting beside her. "Guys- wake up!" Kaktok screamed. Simon slowly turned to wake, before seeing the first. He glanced around, trying to find somewhere to hide. Jade and Kaktok stood back to back once again, preventing the fire from getting close to their friends. Aarya created splits in the fire, as if she was killing the fire itself. However, Simon quickly grabbed her arm and started running.
"TIME FREEZE!" Aarya yelled, snapping her fingers. The world turned darker and Simon's movements slowed to a stop. Aarya freed herself from his grip as she began to look around for something that would keep Simon with them. However, speeding the time by 5 seconds, she suddenly saw an ice orb attack the fire, as the fire slowly started to die down. "They're here!" Aarya exclaimed, before grabbing Simon's collar and resuming the time. Simon panicked when he felt Aarya's hand, as he fell onto the ground "Please don't hurt me, PLEASE!" He shouted, covering his head with his hand. Aarya chuckled as she nodded. "It's just me, silly. And I found the group!"
Kaktok and Xylo met in the middle of the bow burned forest as the two began their discussion. How did you get here, why are you here, where is the camp. Stuff like that. In return, Xylo's group responded with answers, and a strange offer. "We want you guys to help us find some others.." Xylo bowed his head. "We don't want demigods fleeing for their lives because of who they are. We want to give them a safe place." Kaktok shook hands with Xylo and nodded. "Deal. Rest here with us for the night, and we'll continue tomorrow." Xylo nodded, practically fell onto the ground, and fell asleep. The others exchanged worried glances, before eventually falling asleep in the middle of a burned and dangerous forest.
