Chapter 34.

Grace

I don't think I've ever been so nervous in my life. I'm standing in front of the Starmedia company building and my legs are shaking so bad I feel like I'm going to fall over if I move.

Today's the day of my interview. I can't mess this up.

I somehow manage to move and ignore my loud-beating heart. I got this, I got this, I got this.

And it turns out I actually did, because the interview went amazing and I can't wipe the big grin off my face when I see Jungkook leaning on his car, waiting for me.

The past few weeks have been just incredible, there isn't any other word to describe it. Despite being so busy with final assignments and school work, we managed to spend time together just like we always have. Except that now our movie nights are actual sleepovers and our book dates have been moved to the park, since it's warm enough outside.

I look at the handsome man standing in front of me. The long, black cargo pants, the white t-shirt see through enough that I can see his dark ink covering his skin. His hair is getting a bit long, but I absolutely love it, just like I love the look he's giving me from behind his sunglasses.

"Good?" he asks me as I wrap my hands around his neck and he gives me a peck on my cheek.

"Great," I want to return him a kiss on the cheek but this smart-ass turns his head just now and my lips brush his. And I'm gone. Completely lost in our own world, in his scent, his warmth and his love.

"Then we're celebrating tonight," Jungkook opens the passenger door to his car for me.

"Uu, such chivalry," I tease him and watch his cheeks redden. Aw, he looks so cute when he's embarrassed. "I love it, by the way," I say and wink at him.

---

"Noo, why can't we just stay in today?" I ask from the sofa in Jungkook's living room.

"Cuz', babe, you got the internship," he takes my hand and pulls me up, "and we're celebrating."

I sigh loud enough to wake up Jimin, who was watching a movie with me and fell asleep. Classic.

"Are we leaving already?" Jimin's hair is sticking in every direction as he gets up.

"Maybe," I plead again, this time maybe Jimin will hear my prayers, "we could have a game night tonight?" I bat my eyelashes about a thousand times at Jimin.

"Sorry, Gracie, we're partying tonight," he says and strides to the kitchen.

"Fine," I finally relent, "see you guys at Con's at 9," I say and head for the door only to be stopped by a hand wrapping around my waist.

My breath hitches as Jungkook comes up behind me and whispers into my ear, "No kiss goodbye?" his warm breath makes me shudder.

I love how affectionate he's become. I mean sure, I got my fair share of hugs when we were just friends, but now it's like he can't keep his hands off me. And I'm a big fan, because I feel exactly the same.

"You better make tonight worth my while," I turn my head back to see him smirking down at me.

"Don't you worry about that," his lips graze my cheeks and him squeezing my hips has me flying out the door before I won't be able to leave at all.

---

"What are we wearing?" Becky asks looking at my closet. She's already dressed to the tee and looks smoking hot. Her skin-tight crimson dress is doing nothing but favours for her.

"I was just planning on wearing some jeans and a top," I'm feeling so lazy today. Well, now... in the morning I was jumping around when I got the email from my soon-to-be employers.

"No way, babes, you're dressing up," Becky tsks her tongue, "now let's see what you got."

After spending way too long on my outfit I'm finally dressed and ready to go. I have to admit, I feel great in the knee length black dress with a cherry pattern.

---

I don't think I'll ever get tired the look Jungkook gives me when he sees me, dressed up or not.

His brown eyes are shining and I can see him fighting a smile as Becky and I walk into the bar and find our table.

"You look absolutely delicious," Jungkook whispers into my hair when I sit down next to him and I have to fight myself very hard to not show how much that just affected me.

After we empty our dinks I turn to my boyfriend and watch him shift all of his attention solely at me, waiting.

"Dance with me," I say to him, hopeful he says yes, because I know he doesn't like to dance.

"Just don't step on me," Jungkook winks at me. Butterflies are going crazy in my stomach and I can't hide the smile on my face.

"Just gotta run to the ladies' room and then we're dancing," I chirp happily and watch his smile grow.

I'm already rushing out of the bathroom, I can't believe he agreed to dance with me. I'm smiling to myself when a hand stops me.

"Where are you rushing off to?" a douchy voice asks me. Ugh, Brett. Yes, the one who has had a problem with me since the start of the year. It's like he can't allow for a girl to be the better scientist for once.

"My friends are waiting for me," I say back, strained and quickly.

"How about I buy you a drink?" Brett extends his slimey arm at my waist and I'm starting to feel sick.

"No," I say back loud and clear and step back.

"Oh, come on," Brett doesn't back off.

"She said no," a cold voice booms from behind me. I feel a familiar tattooed arm over my shoulder and I exhale a breath I didn't know I was holding in.

Brett only rises his hands as if to say, "didn't know she was taken" to Jungkook.

My blood boils when Brett doesn't even think to apologise to me and not to my boyfriend. What am I?

Jungkook's eyes narrow and his gaze grows even colder, his jaw tense.

I can barely see Brett hurrying away, because I'm upset.

"You didn't have to do that," I turn to Jungkook.

"I know you could have handled that completely on your own, babe," he cups my cheeks, "but I don't ever want you feeling uncomfortable and I could jump in right now, so I did," his warm gaze cools down my temper, "you can let me help sometimes."

I was being difficult, but I can't help it sometimes, it's going to take some time for me to get used to someone always having my back, no matter what.

I take a deep breath, "I know," I hug my arms around his waist, "I'm working on it."

Jungkook's lips brush mine, "let's go dance."

I take his hand and let him lead me to the dance floor. Jungkook dancing - this is going to be interesting. I remember seeing him dance once, but I wouldn't call that dancing, but more like swaying to the music.

His hands are immediately on my hips and I wrap mine behind his neck. Jungkook looks so confident and it's incredibly hot.

Wait a second...

Jungkook is smirking at me while moving to the music effortlessly.

"Why have you never told me you're a great dancer?" he's owning the moves.

"I've been saving all of this," he shrugs, "just for you to see," his lips spread into a smile and I don't think I've ever been happier.

I love him so much.

As if Jungkook could sense me thinking about him, he says, "I love you, too."

I feel like I can face the world with him by my side. Let the challenges come, because I'm ready to take them on.
