Chapter 59: Those judging eyes

Jungkook sat back down onto the bed and placed on his shirt while Jimin stood by the door. For a second there he could have sworn he heard someone other than Jimin that called out to him. This made Jungkook sit down motionless as he kept his glare at the wall.

"Jungkook... Still silent? Are you okay? Do you... Want to stay here and watch the snowfall from the other balcony? You know... The balcony in the opposite room from here. I thought you would have a balcony here but you don't. But, it's okay! We can still watch the snowfall from the window." Jimin mentioned as Jungkook raised his hand up to rub the temples of his head. "Headache?"

"Just a little... I was thinking about something. Your giggles are familiar.." Jungkook added as Jimin giggled again.

"You've been by me for quite some time now! I'm surprised you don't find my giggles cuter than that!" Jimin added as Jungkook turned his head to face Jimin. The younger then stood up and began to take off his pants in front of Jimin so he could change into his joggers.

"Well I never said they sounded horrible. They're cute... It just sounded familiar." Jungkook added as Jimin smiled.

"Familiar as in what?" Jimin asked as Jungkook took a moment to think as he slipped on his joggers, right in front of Jimin to see the older blush and look up at Jungkook in the eyes.

"I think your giggles just remind me of someone off a drama." Jungkook added as he looked at Jimin and patted his head. "Do you want to get my mail for me today?~" Jungkook asked with a cute smile.

"Ah Jungkook why don't you get it for once?!" Jimin giggled as he layed back on the bed and spreaded his legs while he placed his shoes on the mattress and looked down at the younger who had his hands in his pockets. Looking down at the older who was laying down on the bed playfully.

"You have to get it for me... Please.." Jungkook begged as he caged Jimin under by placing his hands over Jimin and planting it against the mattress. "I'll do anything you want me to do..."

"Anything?~" Jimin giggled and sat up to look at Jungkook closely. "Alright then. Follow me." Jimin added and moved the younger aside so he could follow.

"Jimin..? Where are we going?" Jungkook wondered as the older held Jungkook by his hand and guided him out of the room.

"We are going to go and get your mail together." Jimin said with a smile as Jungkook's eyes widened and pulled his hand back. Causing Jimin to stop walking.

           "I... I can't!"

"Jungkook we are eventually going out soon and I want you to atleast be ready. Come on or else I'm leaving and won't come back until time for the festival." Jimin shot back, making Jungkook grow nervous and running his hand through his hair as he looked down, ready to panic.

"J-Jimin... Jimin no I'm not ready!" Jungkook said as Jimin scoffed and looked at the boy.

"I said I wasn't going to force you... But if you really want to come with me to the festival... Then we both need to make some adjustments to make it and what you need to do is walk out with me... Atleast to the lobby and that's it!" Jimin stated as Jungkook shook his head and walked back to the room, making Jimin just sigh and sit down on the couch.

The older sat there and thought this through. At this rate, Jungkook wouldn't be able to go if he can't make it outside those doors. "Ah.. What am I doing? He won't leave this place.. I should know that by now and should understand this is how he is. Silent and isolated." Jimin whispered to himself. Jimin wanted to at least have Jungkook show up to the festival. It seemed romantic in Jimin's eyes and he couldn't wait to experience such a thing with the younger... However, Jimin felt like that goal would slip from his hands due to Jungkook always refusing to go out.

"I guess... There's always next year? Ugh I won't be here..." Jimin thought and waited on the couch for Jungkook to at least come out of the room and keep him company. Jimin then looked back at the bedroom door and suddenly the younger came out wearing an oversized black jacket with a hoodie over his head and a black face mask. "Jungkook...?"

"Let's go... Come on I don't want to take too long over there. In and out. Just that simple." Jungkook mentioned and walked up to Jimin to hold out his hand so the two could go to the lobby quickly.

Jimin held a bright smile on his face as he took Jungkook's hand and walked out of the room together to reach the lobby. Jungkook dragged Jimin down the hall in a hurry to avoid others looking at him. Jimin knew Jungkook deeply despised socializing with others, but with Jimin... He found it easier to communicate with the older... But not with anyone else.

They went down the stairs and finally reached the lobby where a few people was there picking up mail or even talking with friends in their sleep attire. Jimin stepped up to walk Jungkook to the mail slots but the younger quickly pulled Jimin's hand back and shook his head slightly while he looked at the many people talking and laughing together. "Jungkook... Come on it won't hurt!" Jimin stated as Jungkook looked at the older.

"...I don't like it here." Jungkook whispered as Jimin sighed and folded his arms to look at Jungkook.

"Please do this for me... Prove to me that you can do something like this. That's walking out of the apartment and showing me you are capable of looking at other people and not running away. If you can't do this... How can we go out together today to the festival? It's just mail... Jungkook... Please do this for me..." Jimin begged as the younger looked at the slots where the mail were.

"C-Come with me please.." Jungkook added as Jimin placed his arm around Jungkook with a giggle and walked with the younger to the mail slots. Along the way, people only stared to only look at the matching shoes the two had just to smile happily at the couple. Yet Jungkook just felt nervous from the stares. No one has ever seen Jungkook before so they stared longer at the boy.

Jungkook felt like he was the elephant in the room... Getting stares and was easily depicted from Jimin. They didn't stare at the older man since most of them were use to looking at Jimin. But Jungkook? He was somewhat a familiar face to them all.

"Just don't pay attention to it. You're doing fine!" Jimin said. Hoping to steer away gazes but this only caused more stares until....the whole room was silent and only snickers and small whispers came from every corner. This made Jungkook start to panic. But to Jimin, he wondered why did everyone get so silent when Jungkook would always walk in?

Jimin cleared his throat and grabbed the keys from Jungkook's pocket to unlock the slot of the mail box just to distract Jungkook from the stares... But the boy allready knew the whole room was silent because of him. Jungkook still gripped on tightly to Jimin's hands and let out an exhale so he wouldn't run off in panic. Jimin managed to open up the slot and allow Jungkook to grab the mail in his own. Jimin looked around and he too began to worry about the stares that gave him anxiety. Just like the first day they met. Everyone stared at the two like they were some paintings at a museum. Slowly, Jimin started to get embarrassed. What was the purpose of all these stares?  No one spoke loud enough for Jimin to make out any words. Just the words "The Boy." Surely addressing Jungkook.

Just then, Jungkook was closing the slot when the landlord patted Jungkook's back and smiled. "I haven't... Seen you for so long..." Said the older man as Jungkook's heart dropped by feeling the older man pat his back softly. The younger didn't know what to do but just stand there full of anxiety. He tightened the hoodie around his head and kept his face mask on as the Landlord looked at the back of Jungkook's head. "Do you.. forgive me?" Asked the elder as Jimin had to chime in.

        "Oh, Mister he isn't very-"

"I know..." The wise man said as he kept looking at Jungkook. "Hey, why don't you ever answer me..?" Asked the elder as Jimin began to feel as if this landlord was just torturing Jungkook with these simple questions. But why couldn't Jungkook answer the man?

          "....No..." Jungkook whispered.

"No? Why? Can you tell me why?" The man asked and suddenly Jungkook turned around and shoved the man onto the floor as Jungkook ran out of the lobby. Pushing anyone in his way as Jimin's eyes widened at the sudden action Jungkook did. Just then the people gasped and they all looked at Jimin and the Landlord.

"I-I am so sorry, Mister! He isn't very social please I'll get you a gift certificate in apology!" Jimin assured as he tried to help up the elder but, the man refused Jimin's help and stood up on his own.

"Stay away from that boy... Do it for your own safety.." Warned the Landlord. Taken by the fact that Jungkook misbehaved infront of the man made Jimin think that this was why the elder warned Jimin not to confront Jungkook again.

       "Such a disrespectful man!"

        "What a freak..."

         "Weirdo..."

"Creep..." Whispered all the people from around the lobby as Jimin bowed in apology to everyone. Especially towards the Landlord himself. The older didn't know how embarrassing something like this could get. After countless apologies... Jimin ran up to the third floor to see the apartment room open.

"Jungkook!" Jimin called out as he walked inside to close the door. Hearing singing that was coming from Jungkook's own room. This made Jimin slowly approach the room door and open it slowly and as silently as he could. Making sure he didn't interrupt the younger. Jimin opened the door to see Jungkook sitting on his bed and looking out of the open window. Singing to himself to cheer himself up after what just happened.

The boy was in tears singing to himself as he looked out to the sea. Making Jimin stand by the door and do nothing but just watch. Not daring to interrupt the younger singing through his silent tears the rolled down his face.

"Please don't see just a boy caught up in dreams and fantasies
Please see me reaching out for someone I can't see
Take my hand let's see where we wake up tomorrow..."
