Chapter 33: Timing
Taehyung walked down the cold street with Hoseok as they were in a hurry to reach the practice building. Taehyung insisted on carrying Hoseok's bag for practice with an umbrella as Hoseok was under the shade, blocking off the rain from his body while Taehyung didn't mind on getting wet. He had to get Hoseok to the practice building in time before the group leader makes the trainee do difficult dance moves in front of company staffs again. That was something Taehyung couldn't risk happening to his friend.
Hoseok was quick to run into the building first though the tough rain, not even caring about his workout clothes getting wet by the rain and the lightning that flashed in the sky. It seemed dark outside, but that was only the grey clouds that filled the town. The older hurried in as Taehyung quickly put away the umbrella and shook the rain drops off of it as he stepped into a big building that looked huge enough to house practice rooms and studios all in one!
Taehyung was left astounded by the huge building and kept gazing at it. "So this is how the life of a trainee is.." Taehyung thought in his head as he can see Hoseok in a hurry to get to the practice room.
The two rushed down the hall after being allowed in by security as Hoseok quickly turned down the corner and reached a room with double doors. As soon as they got in, groups of many people were already dancing with the group leader standing upfront by the large wall mirrors. The room was white with bright lights hanging above them and blank white tiles on the floor. Hoseok ran in and just that caught everyone's attention, making everyone stop what they were doing just to stare.
"Jung Hoseok! Late again?" Shouted one of the trainees at the back. There was only male trainees in the room and a few girls that came to see them. Some were in a relationship with the men and some were just friends or relatives.
Taehyung stepped in and set Hoseok's things down as a few girls started to stare at the handsome man that stepped in. The room then filled with Trainees picking at Hoseok's constant tardies and some were about how handsome Taehyung looked. The younger then took off his circular glasses, causing most of the girls to giggle and smile at the sight of how attractive Taehyung looked.
Suddenly, the group leader stepped up as Hoseok's eyes widened. The leader was a bit shorter than Hoseok, he had dark black silk hair, a pale face and a blank expression on his face. His attire was nothing but black sweatpants, black T-shirt and white puma shoes that had a black stripe design along the words "Puma." Just by the look he gave Hoseok made Taehyung realize that this man was Min Yoongi, Hoseok's ex from before.
"Late again, Jung Hoseok?" Yoongi asked folding his arms.
"W-What happened to the old group leader?" Hoseok wondered as he looked down on the ground in silence. Trying not to look at his ex in the eyes.
"He was sent into a group to debut soon. But now I'm king of this castle now..." Yoongi added blankly with his deep voice as he then positioned Hoseok's face to meet his. "Why were you late?"
"T-The power was off at my apartment..." Hoseok added. This was the longest the two held a conversation, and this made Hoseok feel like he was going to cry over Yoongi in front of everyone. It was his feelings from before that was trying to reach the surface now.
"I still expect you to get here. I'm not like the other leader that'll give you a punishment as soon as you're one second late, but let me make this clear. This was just the first time." Yoongi added, only then he turned his head to face Taehyung who was watching the two nervously. For some reason, Yoongi instantly disliked Taehyung for tagging along with Hoseok. The thought of it made the older slightly angrier than before now. Yoongi faced Hoseok again in silence as he kept his glare at his ex. "Don't let it happen again, Hope... Okay?" Yoongi concluded.
The older finally let go of Hoseok's chin and started walking to the front of the dancing group as Hoseok quickly ran to his spot to join. The way Yoongi warned him never to do it again made Hoseok feel like he slightly cared that moment. Even if it was tough after the break up and nothing but silence filled the gap between them, every single interaction with his ex made Hoseok feel happy to see that Yoongi didn't grow to hate Hoseok for wasting his time. That was at least something Hoseok was glad about. Knowing they didn't have such an unhealthy friendship after the breakup.

Jimin was sitting on the couch as Jungkook was by the balcony dividers, looking out to the dark grey skies that filled Busan and the rain that cried onto the sea. They waited to get the notification for the food to be on it's way to Jimin's apartment while the two pondered in silence. Waiting for at least something to happen but it was awkward silence along with constant lightning flashing outside, followed by roaring thunder that rumbled in the distance.
"The sky... It's so grey.. It's hovering over the sea and making the waves upset." Jungkook whispered as he placed his hand over the glass. "Are you upset, Y-"
"Who are you talking to?" Jimin asked, eyeing the coffee table cabinet in suspense before turning his head and facing the boy behind him by the glass dividers to the balcony.
"T-To you.." Jungkook added as he let out a sigh and turned to face Jimin, who was already approaching him now.
"When will the meal get here?" Jimin wondered as Jungkook checked back on his phone and showed it to Jimin.
"In a few minutes.." Jungkook added as he looked at Jimin and turned off his phone to look at Jimin in the dark silently. "I know you must be bored here... I'm sorry.."
"It's fine. As long as I'm here with you, I don't mind! I feel safe here even if I'm afraid of the dark." Jimin stated. "Jungkook... Why did you ask if I was upset? Do you think I hate that it's raining?"
"O-Oh... Of course not! I.. was quoting a great movie quote! Forgot the movie though..." Jungkook added as he turned around to face the sea from behind the glass dividers.
"Okay." Jimin responded, looking out to the sea with Jungkook. "Don't you ever want to see it up close? It's beautiful... Especially when the sun is out. Let's go to the Sea one day. When the sun wants to greet us through the cold too."
"You know, at times... I don't like the sea, but then at times... I miss it. So I go to the windows and watch it. Ask it if it's upset... Or just sad. It may sound stupid and crazy, but it kept me company all this ti-" Jungkook then cut off his own words as he felt Jimin hold his hand silently. Jungkook turned his head to Jimin and watched the older let out an exhale like it took a lot of guts to do such a thing.
"I... Don't think it's crazy or stupid.." Jimin mentioned and looked up at the younger. "I think it's okay to feel a little lonely. Have a moment to talk about things." Jimin said as he looked at Jungkook. Growing whipped from Jimin's sudden action again. "I used to do the same... When I had no one. When Taehyung ignored me for breaking his heart before and when I was alone for a while... I would talk to myself." Jimin said.
Jungkook listened to Jimin and let out a sigh from his nervous and shy emotion that he felt within the moment. He then locked hands with Jimin, believing it's okay to hold Jimin's hand like this and not feel like it as romantic in any way. He just wanted to show Jimin he was going to be there to comfort him whenever. "Now.. Neither of us will be alone. We have eachother...right? Will you be here as I'm here for you?" Jungkook asked into a whisper, turning his body to face Jimin as the man did the same. Showing a cute height difference between the two as Jimin was the smaller and Jungkook was a bit taller than the older.
"Yes I'll be here. Forever if I have to." Jimin claimed as Jungkook took another glance back at the Sea. It was like when it came to staring out to the Sea, Jungkook wouldn't feel himself. Almost sad... Insecure and quiet on himself.
Jimin noticed Jungkook's attention was pointed towards the Sea and he grew silent. Jimin thought this was weird that Jungkook would look at the Sea from afar like he was being told something. Just like the attention given when an elder was speaking, Jungkook gave the same action to the Sea. This caused Jimin to lean in closer, move his hand away from Jungkook's grasp, causing the younger to look down at his own hand. "Won't you be here for me too?" Jimin asked sweetly and cupped Jungkook's face and pointed it towards his.
"Yes.." Jungkook answered as he looked down on Jimin's lips just waiting there for him. He gently placed his hands down on Jimin's hips. Jungkook questioned this feeling he was having and could only feel Jimin's body slowly move in closer to Jungkook. Jungkook watched Jimin lean in closer for the kiss until... His phone chimed, notifying Jungkook that the meal was on it's way now and he should expect it.
Jungkook pulled away, realizing what the two were close to doing as he turned his head the opposite direction and nervously scratched his neck and head while Jimin kept his stare at Jungkook and quickly glanced away. Feeling slightly embarrassed. He didn't know what came over him and suddenly longed to kiss Jungkook. He was curious about how his lips tasted like and wanted to have such a strong connection to Jungkook like this to kiss him. But just knew the timing was off. If it wasn't for the phone chiming, Jimin would have experienced the feeling by now.
"I-I'm sorry.." Jimin whispered as he looked down and gazed at the door. "I'll get my laptop and the meal once it's delivered." Jimin mentioned as Jungkook nodded in silence and placed his finger over his lip gently. Thinking back at what just happened.
