“Rooowwww-mow-mow! Hikkkkkkkkkk!” yowled Brightnose as she was tossed around in the time machine’s control room. “Help! I’m in a crazy machine that wants to kill me!!!!” she screamed to no one in particular. Suddenly the time machine stopped abruptly. Brightnose was thrown to the ceiling hard, and she heard something crack. As she fell to the floor, her leg exploded in pain, and she was thrown into immediate unconsciousness.

When Brightnose woke up, she was on the floor of the time machine, and her left hind leg was twisted at an odd angle. She got up slowly, wincing in pain when she put pressure on it. When she was up, she looked at her broken leg and thought, my leg looks like a bent wire. Then she thought, Where am I?Did BOSS really take me to 2015 in the twenty-first century? She walked over to the open hatch button and pressed it. As the door hissed open, she cautiously limped out onto the cold, hard, asphalt. When the scent of dirty, polluted air reached her sensitive nose, Brightnose twitched it and said “Is this really the 2014 in the twenty-first century? It’s horrible!” As soon as she had limped at least ten feet away from the time machine, it said “Callback procedure activated. Called back by Dylan Rodriguez. Going back to 2512 in the twenty-sixth century.” The door slid shut and the time machine disappeared with a “WHOOSH!”. Brightnose had been abandoned in a polluted and possibly hostile world!
