“That just about does it.” said Colorfur, pulling on the bandages to keep them tight while Brightnose winced in pain. “That will be either two tunas or some info about the future, please” Brightnose looked at the healer like she was Cerberus, the 3-headed dog from greek mythology, and said to Darktail, “You didn’t mention any payment when you told me about her! And how does she know about me being from the future?” Darktail looked down at the ground guiltily and said “Yeah, about that… I couldn’t keep it a secret forever! No one could, with a secret that big! Except maybe you. Sorry?” Brightnose looked at the two city cats sternly and said, “ If EITHER of you tell ANYONE, I will go back to the future and bring an army next time I come and annihilate both of you. Any questions?” They shook their heads, but neither of them made eye contact, and both of them tensed their shoulders. It’s like they think I’m going to blast them with laser coming from my eyes if they make eye contact, she thought. She looked at them and said “Just don’t tell anyone. I’m not mad at you.” She saw them relax and their shoulders were no longer tensed. She smiled at them and said to Colorfur “In the future, we have cat spas where humans understand us. They give us fish whenever we want it.” Colorfur looked at her in awe and almost fainted from joy when she said “Both of you can come home with me if you want. But only for a month or so. Come on! Let’s go find that time machine!”
