When I was 13    
"Tink. Tink. You there?"

Gosh! Peter stop messing with my dreams. Get a life.     

"Tink? Can you hear me?" He spoke again.

"Do I have any other choice?"  I snored.

"Great! Hey what's a fuse?"

"What?"

"A fuse. What's a fuse?"

"I don't know, maybe a stupid term used for torturing the hell out of us."

"Be serious. Please help, otherwise I'll die."

"I pray for your well being."

"Tink......"

"What do expect from me? From a person who just woke up to answer this stupid question."

"Please. I beg you. I might fail this year."

"Wait a sec."

I searched for the science book and narrated him the answer and many other answers too.

"Thanks for -"

"-ruining my dreams. Can I sleep now?"

"Sorry"

I went back to bed and slept peacefully.
Sleeping is love, why wake up so soon? I mean literally why wake up at all?

My dreams were awesome but good things don't last long. God why? I'm pretty sure that you're playing a game with me. In the blink of an eye, morning happened. Ya you guessed it right, morning happened.

I hate you world.

"Ashton, you need to come in any chance. Why bother resisting?" Rose sounded demanding but for a fact, my stubbornness is not to joke about.

"Come on man, don't be a spoilsport." Kylie tried to convince me.

"Kyle, you know that I can't and I've reasons of my own that you know about." I resisted.

"Still Ash, please. Just for once." Cameron was polite as ever.

"I can't sorry. I told you guys yesterday, my answer won't change."

Yesterday
"Ashton would you like to play paintball with us?" Kyle asked.

"Kyle you know that I can't miss these classes. Otherwise, I don't know what to do." I politely refused.

"Ashton please." Rose and Cameron pleaded.

"Sorry can't. But can't you ask others to join."

"We did. They're all busy."

"And for a fact, you're super cool. It was the best morning assembly ever and God! My band would love to have an artist like you. You should definitely meet them." Rose said.

"Rose, I'd love to meet your band soon, but not today. As for the paintball is concerned, maybe next time."

But wait, Peter can save me with the test or I hope he will. Why not have a little bit of fun? It won't harm right?

Their faces turned to a 'baby trying to plead' look. Man! They're adorable.

"I might come......", they eyes started sparkling, " but one condition."

"Doesn't matter, at least we got this far." Cameron sounded excited with his ' I'm on top of the world' look.

"So my condition is..... ", they were listening enthusiastically as I spoke slowly for the suspense factor, " that I won't be easy on you. So plan to face your worst nightmare."

They smiled.

"Relax kiddo, let's see if your game is as good as your words. I'll ain't letting you win so easily." Rose exclaimed.

"You're talking to the masters of laser tag, it'll be better to choose your words wisely." Kyle proudly spoke.

"It's a showdown girl, let's see what you've got."

I smirked.

"But wait." I broke the silence, " how will we get out of this hell?"

"Follow my lead bitch." Rose winked.

We left the class and went straight towards the main school gate, I know it's a stupid idea right but Rose seemed to know what shit she was doing, so no questions asked.

She wore a nerdy glasses and I seemed to have an idea of what she was going to do, or I thought I did.

"The principal has told me to bring these students to her. I might be late if you don't hurry." She simply spoke and everyone was stunned. They were in shock like something assuming just happened, but did what she told anyway.

"Sorry Cassidy, I'm on it." The security guard opened the gates for us. "By the way, when did you come back?" He questioned.

"Just a while back", she stammered, " I entered from the back gate, so you might not have noticed me."

"Oh! My bad. Give ma'am my greeting." He smiled and let us out of this jail.

"That was epic!" I exclaimed. " So what's next?"

"To the laser tag showdown." Cameron shouted in glee.

 "So what'll be the teams?" Kyle asked.

"Boys versus girls. How does that sound?" Rose commented.

"Done", we all said in unison.

THE BATTLE STARTED

Its was a dark room with laser lights and other fancy lights enabling us to see. Walls were built for protection and a lot of traps for fun. Kyle and Cameron went in one direction and we took the other. Since we are having fun during school hours, no other kid dared to come here. Thus, the match begins.....

The rules: fuck this shit and have fun.

It was less than one second since the game started, two gun shots were heard- one from Rose and Cameron. I don't know about Cam but Rose got lucky by just an inch.

It's a close call, for God's sake, but it ain't fun if it's easy.

We marched forward and I guess, they did the same. Looking at the intensity of the game, I was pretty sure that wasting time on traps and tricks won't work. Something, something........ gosh! I never knew laser tag could be so challenging.

Brain, brain.... you there? C'mon work for once dammit.

"Hey, you go this way and I'll go that way." Rose whispered.

"You just quoted rush hour."

"That's besides the point. We need to hurry."

I went towards the left barricade while Rose approached the right one. Even though only cardboard boxes protected me I'll still call it a barricade. To my luck, I could see through the holes between the boxes......

........ still no idea where they are.

I searched to and fro, but no luck. There were some other barriars next to one I'm standing, which I thought would be of some help.

A gunshot was heard.....

..... which means they found us or its a trap.

I rushed towards the other side to team up with Rose just to be shocked that she did the same.

"Let's win together." I said.

"Too sad." Cameron used the rope hanging in some areas and jumped right in front of us.

Before I could do anything, he grabbed Rose and pointed his gun towards her.

"Not happening bro", I aimed at him. The trigger was going to be pulled in
3: I analyzed the situation. Cam got a bit terrified but didn't fumble.
2: Trigger was half pulled. Rose was trying to resist Cam.
1: Rose somehow managed to point her gun at him, which made him hesitant.
0: Cam shot and Rose was out. I shot which defeated Cam.

Ultimately I'm victorious. Or I wish I was, Kyle was enjoying the backseat till now. He might be causing some trouble.

One shot near my ear. One shit near my waist.

These shots pushed me back or better way to say, forced me. It could be none other than Kyle, cause he's the only one left duh.

Kyle entered the scene with a proud look on his face indicating that ' it was all planned'. He pulled his trigger the next second, not allowing me to act upon my senses.

It's was all his game, he wins. But something unanticipated happened, I tripped on my own. Don't know how it happened, might be a talent of my own.

He shot, but luckily missed.
I recollected my thoughts and stood up.

"I shoot and you shoot, both will die. Let's decide with a duel", he sounded confident, " three steps backwards and then, turn and shoot. Who-so-ever shoots first, wins."

"Deal"

We both came together and turned so that other can face our back. With each step forward, my heartbeat rose.

We turned and he shot as quickly as possible, leaving me no choice but to depend upon my reflexes.

I dodged the bullet cause for some reason, my reflexes are stronger than that of an average person. Lucky for me.

I aimed my gun while Kyle as astonished and shoot.

And I must say, ultimately I'm victorious.

Hey guys, I know some of you might try to kill me for not posting. I'm sorry but my YouTube obsession took most of my time. Can't help it but I'm truly apologizing.

I have a news for you guys, my other book 'evanesce' is going to be on hold till this book is complete.

For some, it might be a good news that I'll update this book sooner.
For some, it's a sad one. But I'd a reason, concept wise I love that book but isn't every science fiction like that. So I wanted to change that fact and rethink about evanesce. Hope you'll support.
