one subtle thing i hate about warrior rps

is it just me or do you hate it when the creators of warrior roleplays feel the need to enforce a limit on lgbt+ charas?

i see some of these people out here in the 'forms' section of their roleplays talking about, "NO MORE LGBT CATS CURRENTLY BEING ACCEPTED" and i'm like, are you for real??

and yes, i'm aware that if i don't like this types of roleplays, i could always not join. and i don't, but.

that's the thing about inclusivity - you get used to it.

and they do it under the pretense of 'wanting more kits for the clan' or 'not everybody in the world is gay so we have to be realistic ' or some shit like that.

and honestly, both of those reasons are ignorant and foolish. WARRIORS ITSELF is pure fantasy with personified, talking cats, so wanting things to be 'realistic' is a really foolish reason. that's the joy about warriors, is that you can incorporate it into any genre and still create a awesome, special roleplay. it's BECAUSE of imagination and things that are 'unrealistic' that the warriors books (and subsequently roleplays) flourish. also?? there are more lgbt people out there than you think - please climb out of that rock you've been hiding under.

another point - just because you have an abundance of heterosexual couples doesn't mean that you'll immediately have a surplus of kits. because two cats can decide that hey, 'maybe our lives are too busy and kits would slow us down' or maybe the two of them just don't like them at all. the possibilities are endless.

even when the warriors fandom still wasn't used to the idea of having gay cats, and when everyone was hetero and roleplayers were thirsty as hell to find their cat a mate - we barely had any kits in our clans.

and since you so yearn for warrior roleplays to be realistic - irl all the time lgbt people of the same sex either adopt, or get someone as a surrogate (in fact, my cat, cactusbelly has 2 moms who used a random loner as a surrogate parent). it doesn't make their family any less valid, and i don't see why cats in same-sex relationships who want kits can't work out a similar agreement.

but, when you enforce rules like that under those reasons, you kind of are invalidating those types of families.

i  am not trying to drag anyone in particular - just,,, think before you do something like that, guys.
