"OTA!"

I stood up and ran to my brother.

"OTA!" I cry. "KAORU CALL THE AMBULANCE!"

Kaoru quickly takes his phone out and I turn to Ageha who falls to her knees.

"It was them! It was them!" She cries.

"WHO?!" I yell and she flinches.

"Toni and her friends!"

I stare at her. "Toni..."

--Ageha POV--

Flashback

"Crackers! Crackers! Two dollars a bag!" Me and Ota say, holding up a bag of crackers each.

"It's getting dark... Let's go home." Ota looks at me and I nod.

"Kay!"

He takes my hand and starts walking.

"Onee-chan and ama will be proud of us! Right?" I look at him and he grins

"Yeah! You did good today! You were much more brave than last time." He praises me and I hug his arm.

"Really?!" He nods.

He chuckles as I cheer.

"We still have some left over... Nana told me to visit her when I have the time... Let's give these to Nana and the others." He holds up the bag of leftover crackers.

"Okay!"

We walk into a familiar alley, hand in hand. I see a group of children at the end of the alley.

"Nana!" Ota calls out and a girl with dark brown hair and grey eyes turns around.

"Ota!" She waves back.

Ota's face brightens.

I think Ota likes her.

"We have some of these left over from today. Do you want them?" He holds up the bag of crackers and she grins.

"Woah! Yes! Thank you!" She takes the bags and gives us a smile.

Her smile seemed odd though... as if it was forced.

"Ota..." Her face darkens and she looks up at us. "...Sorry..." She looks down. "They're here!" She yells.

A familiar group of unfriendly people come out and Ota pulls me behind him.

"Nana..." He looks at her and she looks at him for a moment before running off.

My heart broke... His face fell visibly as he watched her run.

"Agh! Finally." A big, tall and familiar looking boy punches the palm of his hand.

"Well hello..." Toni appears from behind him with a sinister smirk.

The other three girls and their boyfriends stood beside her.

"What do you want?!" Ota grits his teeth and glares at them.

Toni cackles. "Relax you rat. We just wanted to ask you something."

Ota spits on her heels.

"EEK!" She jumps back and clings onto her boyfriend.

I back up and then bump into something. I look back and see one of the other girls' boyfriends looking down at me.

"These shoes are worth more than your life!" She grabs Ota's shirt and he smirks before spitting in her face.

She let's go and falls back onto the ground.

"RUN AGEHA!" Ota yells.

I turn around and try to run around the tall guy in my way, but he grabs me by my hair and picks me up.

"ONII-CHAN!" I cry and flail my legs around.

"AGEHA!"

Ota punches the tall guy where it hurts and he drops me.

I hold onto my head and Ota helps me up.

"Are you o-Agh!" Ota falls to the ground and I look up to see Toni's boyfriend stepping on Ota's back.

"ONII-CHAN!" I run to the tall guy and try to push him, but he doesn't move an inch. "LET GO!" I pinch his arm as hard as I could and he jumps back.

"THAT HURT!" He turns to me and takes out a pocket knife.

"Kenshi no!" I hear Toni yell.

I scream. "ONII-CHAN!"

"AGEHA!" Ota stands in front of me and everything stopped.

Ota...

The tall guy pulls his knife out of Ota's stomach and drops his knife. "SHIT!" He turns around and bolts. The others follow. Toni stares at Ota for a moment before taking off her heels and running, looking back every now and then.

I slowly look down.

"OTA!"

--Kaoru POV--

I stood there staring at her.

Beep beep.

Her hands balled up into fists, so tight her knuckles were turning white. Her jaw clenched. Her eyes watery, filled with anger and sadness. Lips quivering.

She then stands up and walks toward the exit.

"Kaoru..." Her mother looks at me and I nod before following her.

"Kako!" I see her walking briskly down the hallway and jog up to her. "Kako!" I grab her arm and she pulls her arm away. "Kako wait!" I stand in front of her and she stops.

"Move." She says, looking down.

"Why? Where-"

"I SAID MOVE!" She looks up and glares at me, tears spilling out of her eyes. "Leave me alone! This has nothing to do with you! Why do you keep butting in?! No one told you to come here!! I don't need you here!" She shoves me back.

"Kako..."

"Stay away from me!" She shoves me aside and runs.

My heart stung but I follow after her anyway.

What if she hurts herself?

I think as I follow closely behind her.

She reaches the train station and walks down to the underground tunnels. Up ahead was a familiar group of people.

Weren't they the nasty people that we met that time on our way to the festival?

One guy was sitting on the ground, rocking back and fourth. There were three other guys and four girls. She starts sprinting toward them.

"GO TO HELL!" She screams and punches the guy sitting on the ground.

I run up to her.

"KAKO!"

"Luna please!" A girl with blonde hair holds her hand out.

"DAMN YOU! I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOU!" She shoves the girl and the girl falls to her knees. The other three girls and three guys run away. "I HATE YOU!" She screams.

"Luna please! I didn't mean for it to happen!" She cries and begs.

SLAP!

Kako slaps her.

"THEY'RE CHILDREN!" She screams and kicks the guy next to her several times.

"I'm sorry!" The girl looks up, holding her cheek that Kako had slapped. "I'm sorry! Please!" She cries.

"HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I BEGGED YOU TO STOP?!" Kako glares at her, her eyes full of hatred. "DID YOU STOP?!" Kako raises her hand to slap her again.

"Enough!" I grab her hand and pull her a few steps back, away from the two on the ground.

"LET ME GO!" She squirms and I wrap my arms around her.

"Stop." I bury my face into the crook of her neck.

"I'LL KILL THEM!" She cries.

"Kako." I tighten my arms around her and she falls to her knees.

"How dare you hurt my family!" She screams at the girl crying on the ground across from her.

I stand in front of her and she looks up at me.

"Kaoru!" She bursts into tears and I fall to my knees.

"Kako..." I push her hair back.

"I'm sorry..."

I wrap my arms around her and stroke her hair.

"It's okay." I kiss her head and she wraps her arms around me.

I look up at the girl across from us. With her hands covering her mouth, she cries.

Kako pulls away and places a hand on my cheek. "I'm tired..." She whispers and closes her eyes.

I take my phone out and call the ambulance for the unconscious guy lying next to the blonde.

I pick Kako up bridal style and look at the blonde girl.

She looks up at me.

"You're lucky I didn't call the police on you." I say and she looks down. "Forget about it."

She looks up at me.

"Be the person you've always wanted to be. Forget about all this and start all over again." I hold my hand out. She takes my hand and I pull her up. She fixes her dress, turns to me and gives me a small smile. I give a nod, turn around and start walking.

There are second chances in life... One day, that someone may come into your life, pick you up and let you start over... But don't just wait for that someone to give it to you... Learn from your mistakes, pick yourself up and give yourself a second chance.

I look down at the sleeping Kako and smile.

You taught me that.
