14|| Not Even Interested

The bell signalling the end of the day finally rang. I was packing up when Miya suddenly appears in front of me. "Woah!" I jump up.

"Music room three."

"What? But I thought-" She runs out before I could even finish. "What're they up to?" I sigh and zip my pencil case.

"Wait but-!" Kaoru slams onto the door before I hear several footsteps running.

"Hitachiin-sama?! Are you okay?!" I run over to him and hold my hand out. He stands up without taking my hand.

"Y-Yeah..." He pats his sleeves.

"What happened?" I ask and he scratches the back of his head.

"Nothing."

He's been giving me the cold shoulder all day long.

"Okay then." A little ticked off at him, I turn around and continue packing up without saying a word. I walk right past him.

"Wait, Kako!" I hear him call out and I sigh.

"Stop calling me that. It's Luna." I snap.

"Well then stop calling me Hitachiin-sama." He snaps back.

I roll my eyes and continue walking.

"W-Wait!"

I stop to a halt and turn around. "Do you have a problem with me?" I say, surprising myself.

"What?" He furrows his brow. I shake my head and turn back around.

"Nothing."

"Uh... Happy birthday?" The corners of my lips threatened to tug up.

"Um... Thanks." I say, continuing to walk to music room 3.

"I was gonna give this to you but..." I turn around and he holds out the rainbow bracelet from earlier.

"But?"

"Uh... Nothing!" He thrusts the bracelet toward me and I take it.

"T-Thank you..." I put the bracelet on and stare at it.

"I have one too." He holds his hand out and rolls up his sleeves a little.

"O-Oh..." I smile. "I've never had a friendship bracelet given to me before." I say and his left eye twitches a little.

"Friendship... Bracelet..." He stares at me blankly.

"Um... Yes?"

He regains his composure and smiles. "Yeah! That's it!"

I smile."Are you going to music room three?" I ask and he nods. "Let's go together."

He smiles and we start walking to music room three. "So uh... This morning... I saw you..."

"Hm?" I tilt my head.

"Never mind!" He shakes his head and smiles wryly.

"Okay..." I turn my head and look at the decorations. "Beautiful..." I smile.

"Yeah..."

I turn around and find Kaoru gazing at me. I tilt my head and his cheeks turn red before her turns away.

"T-The hallway is... N-Nice." He stutters.

I giggle. "Yup." I nod.

"Here we are." I stop in front of music room three's door and Kaoru opens it for me.

"Thanks." I give him a smile before walking in.

"SURPRISE!!!!" The lights turn on and they all jump up.

"W-Whoa!"

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUNA!" They cheer and Haruhi brings out a cake.

"G-Guys..." I almost burst into tears when they start singing.

"Blow the candles!" Miya says.

"Make a wish first Luna-chan!" Honey interjects.

I nod and close my eyes.

I hope that in the future... My mum is healthy and happy... Ota becomes a famous artist... Ageha becomes a successful seamstress... I get to go to the moon and...

I open my eyes and look at all their smiling faces.

And I hope to stay with my friends for a long time...

I smile and blow the candles.

"Wooo!" They all clap, excluding Haruhi who was holding the cake up.

"Cake! Cake!" Miya, Tamaki and Honey cheer as Haruhi puts the cake down on a table.

I walk over to the table and Haruhi hands me a piece of cake. "Thanks."

I take a bite of the cake and feel my whole body heat up.

This is great... This is the best cake I have ever tasted in my life!

I finish the cake in no time and blush slightly when I ask for seconds.

"Time for presents!!!" Tamaki claps.

They all surround me. Miya holds out a rectangular box. "From me and Hikaru." She smiles.

I take the box and open it. "Ah!" I squeal. "It's awesome!" I grin as I take out the rainbow shoes. "Thank you!" I hug Miya and Hikaru and they both smile.

"From me and Takashi!" Honey holds out a pink box.

"Oh!" My grin grows. Inside were assorted sweets. "Thank you!" I hug both Honey and Mori.

"From me, Haruhi, Tamaki and Kyoya." Ana holds out a small rectangular box.

I gasp when I open it. "O-Oh! T-This is too much!" I try to give it back to Ana.

"No no no! It's for you! We can't contact you properly with your ancient phone so we got you a new one!" Tamaki says and Ana gives him a look before he sulks and hugs her.

"Take it. It's a gift." Kyoya says and I grin.

"Thank you so much!" I feel my eyes well up with tears.

"Hey hey! Not yet! There's still one more person!" They all turn to Kaoru who was staring at me.

"Kaoru!" Hikaru slaps his back.

"O-Oh! M-Me?!" He blinks.

"Yes you!" Miya rolls her eyes.

"I thought he already gave me-"

Miya cuts me off. "No! There's something else!" She gives Kaoru a look and he blushes.

"W-Well..." He takes something out of his pocket.

It was thin, small and rectangular. "What is it?" I ask and he scratches his head.

"Open it."

I stare at him for a moment before carefully unwrapping the wrapper.

I freeze and my eyes widen. "No way..." I felt my eyes prickle. "You did not..." I look up at him with watery eyes and he smiles wryly. "THANK YOU SO MUCH!" Without thinking, I glomp him and he falls back. "I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!" I blurt out as I hug him tighter.

"K-Kako...!" I pull away, tears now spilling out of my eyes.

He stared at me, his cheeks a slight pink, his eyes wavering.

"Thank you!" I smile through my tears.

"Y-Y-Your welcome..."

--Kaoru POV--

"I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!"

My heart fluttered and my body grew hot at those words.

Her arms around me seemed perfect... Like they were meant to be there...

I was about to wrap my arms around her waist when she suddenly pulled away and smiled at me.

I felt my ears grow hot.

"Thank you!"

"Y-Y-You're welcome..." I manage to say and she places the lady gaga concert tickets to her chest.

"There's two..." She looks up at me. "Do you want to come with me?" She asks and I felt myself shiver with happiness...

Woah Kaoru... Calm down.

"He'd love to!" Miya cuts in.

Okay sometimes it's good to have Miya make decisions for me...

"Kaoru...?" Luna looks at me and I felt my ears burn.

She said my name.

"S-S-Sure!" I nod and she smiles

"Oh! It's this sunday!" She grins and squeals.

I watch her and smiled unconsciously.

She's so cute...

I blush at the thought.

So... Is this a... Date? Wait but... She friend zoned me... She's not even interested... Right?

I'm just gonna have to try harder.
