The Problem With Trump (and Rumpy)...
Ranter onethousanddreams
Subject The racism Trump has provoked, and why no one should have voted for him + Rumpy boy
I feel as if there are so many obvious reasons no one should have voted for Trump. However, when I inform Trump supporters about them, they blatantly tell me that I am to opinionated/too liberal/overreactive/butthurt. This one guy even warned my mom to make sure I would not become an extremist in the future (which I have no idea where that came from, I was just explaining why Donald Trump was a bad business man).
Ever since the end of the election, racism truly has increased. I know this is a bit late, but I feel the urge to let this off my shoulders. There is a boy in my World Cultures class who is truly racist, and expresses his love for Trump. Let's call him Rumpy. We were given a quiz filled with True and False questions on Middle Eastern stereotypes (hint; all the answers were FALSE), and he filled a lot of them to be true. Rumpy filled out that Islam is violent, everyone in the Middle East hates Europe and USA, just to name two. He then tried to explain why all of the Middle East hates Europe (which is obviously why there are so many refugees). Now, on a regular basis, Rumpy talks about how all muslims are violent (in front of my friends who are muslim).
My teacher hosts something called Circle, where the whole class sits in a circle and expresses their honest feelings on a topic. Last circle, she asked us all to describe in one word how you felt about the result of the election. I said disgusted, and Rumpy said "HAPPY!!!!!" Then, my teacher asked us to explain why we chose that word. I talked about the whole Mike-Pence-is-pretty-much-a-homophobe-who-wants-to-take-our-HIV-funds-and-put-it-towards-conversional-therapy thing as one of my examples. Then, Rumpy told the class that "it doesn't matter if you are black, white, ASIAN, or Lg...lg...lgt....lgb?...lgbt??????? (he took around 8 seconds to figure out the term LGBT), you should respect your country's leaders and their opinions, because they are your leaders." Did he just completely not hear the part where I explained that 50% of conversional therapy "patients" DIE?!?!?!?!? Also, that's a very weak argument. If by some chance, I started living in North Korea, I will not respect Kim Jon Un and his opinions.
Some people have started saying things like, "Stay away from the Asians," and Rumpy regularly pokes at me for information about how I'm asian, how I got one of the top grades for one of our big tests, and me being some kind of automatic genius because I'm an asian in a rude, mocking way. There's also a guy (Trump supporter) on my bus who thinks that it's okay to mock the way my mom talks. I mean, fine, my mom speaks broken english, but that's because it's not her first language. I'd like to see him try to speak in Chinese. The thing is, he has somehow started to believe that it's okay, but it's not. My mom does so much for my school, and she doesn't deserve that.
Also, I feel as if the very fact that Donald Trump wants to get rid of our Paris Agreement should cause everyone to not vote for him. 97% of scientist agree that climate change is real. Yes, sure, maybe we can get some jobs by mining coal, but for how long? I've read calculations that we will run out of fossil fuels by 2088. Then what? Are you going to keep on mining your imaginary coal? Our ecosystems are being destroyed, and ever since humans came onto this planet, the extinction rate for animal species went up by a LOT. I don't think we have enough time to save our planet if we don't start now. Also, where does he get his statistics on why climate change is a hoax made by China? And why would so many global leaders come together if this were some stupid "hoax"? Our coral reefs are near beyond saving. Imagine the collapse in the natural world if all our coral reefs were wiped out. Our coral reefs are home to 1/4 of marine wildlife. Also, it will heavily effect countries like Indonesia and the Philippines who depend on these coral reefs for food.
At an event. Kellyanne Conway, campaign manger and aide to Donald Trump was asked how she could work for someone who had sexually assaulted women. Conway replied by saying that the argument of Donald Trump sexually assaulting women was overused, and that the argument wasn't going to bring back jobs, or defeat ISIS. According to Politico, Conway then told the girl who had asked, "For you to use sexual assault to try to make news here I think is unfortunate, but it also doesn't matter because Donald Trump promised he'll be a president of all Americans." Oh, so now sexual assault "doesn't matter"??? Or, maybe she meant that it doesn't matter anymore because Trump will now be a president to everyone, even to those he sexually assaulted. Like, wow, thanks. This is how we are now making sexual assault some stupid little detail that doesn't matter now. Speaking of sexual assault, there was a Trump Supporter at school who was saying that rape was okay because our president was doing it.
Can I also bring up that Trump's vice, Mike Pence said that Mulan was liberal propaganda? In 1999, Mike Pence ran an Op-Ed on why Mulan was liberal crap trying to say that women can be in the military too, and how that was wrong. He talked about how it was foolish that we were supposed to believe that Mulan could become a great military leader because she was delicate, brave, and in-genuine! Okay, Mulan was based off a 1600 year-old-ballad, probably based off the true story of a girl who became a warrior. It wasn't something liberals just came up with. Then, Pence talks about how the fact that Mulan fell in love with her superior officer proves that women cannot be in the military, because there will always be an UNDENIABLE sexual attraction between two people of the opposite gender if they live together (unless...one of them was gay/lesbian. *GASP*). Can I also mention that in the Ballad, there was no mention of a relationship between her and an officer.
Okay, I'm done. Sorry about that messy rant.
