Chapter 8

A/N: The dress above is what you're wearing to the Ball. However, it won't be this color (unless you want it to be). It'll be your favorite color: (f/c). You'll also be wearing matching heels.

NOW, LET'S PARTY WITH MORE OF THE STORY!! 🎉🎉

The next day was more lovely than the previous. The sky was blue and the sun as shining bright. The city of Crocus had been repaired by magic and the nonwizard citizens had their memories erased.

For the wizards, to thank them, the King hosted a Ball with music, dancing, and food.

All the wizards were attending, getting dressed in formal wear.

You didn't like it. Dresses made you uncomfortable because they weren't comfortable. You stared at your reflection in the mirror with a scowl.

"What's the matter, (Y/N)?" Evergreen asked.

"I don't like this outfit." You said, "I wanna change." You stared at the (f/c), elegant dress that Mirajane and Evergreen had put you in. You felt out of place.

"Nonsense!" Evergreen scoffed. "You look stunning. Laxus won't be able to keep his hands off of you."

Your cheeks turned red as a result of her words. "Now c'mon," She grabbed your wrist, "let's go!"

You were dragging out of the Ladies' Dressing Room by the Fairy Mage. Already, there were a lot of people there who were mingling.

As soon as you made it downstairs, you wanted to run back upstairs. This . . This is too much! You were about to make a run for it, but a hand latched onto your arm.

"Where are you goin'?" Laxus asked.

Evergreen smirked at the two of you before walking away.

You looked up at your boyfriend, seeing him in a mostly white tux with yellow outlines around the edges of the suit. He looks so nice in that tux. You thought.

"You okay?" Laxus asked, seeing as how you hadn't answered his first question yet.

"Uh, yeah." You mumbled, nodding. "I'm fine."

Laxus gave you a small smile before it turned into a smirk. "Well, you look gorgeous." He complimented, "Stunning even." He pulled you closer to him, gently grabbed your chin, and pressed his lips against yours.

The kiss was fine, but when he started pressing deeper into the kiss, you got worried. This fool! What was he thinking? Without wasting another second, you pulled away.

Laxus grunted in annoyance, and you could see the lust in his eyes. "Woah there." You said, "Slow your roll, cowboy."

"Tch." Laxus growled, folding his arms over his chest.

"You're impossible." You sighed, rolling your eyes.

"Am not." He growled, not looking at you.

You chuckled at his behavior before smirking, "I know you're impatient, but control yourelf."

You chuckled once again at Laxus' childish behavior. It was amusing. Although it has been years, that doesn't excuse his behavior.

Despite your romantic history with him.

Now it seems that Laxus was silently sulking while trying not to show it.

"Jeez, c'mon." You rolled your eyes and groaned.

"To where?" Laxus raised an eyebrow.

"To go eat." You said as if it was obvious. You left him standing there, but after he processed the information in his head, he followed you.

"Natsu-san!" Sting grinned from ear to ear with alcohol in his hand.

"Salamander ain't here." Gajeel grunted, stuffing his mouth with good.

Sting pouted. He was hoping to spend time with Natsu. Then he caught a whiff of a familiar scent. Turning his head to the right, he spotted you with Laxus. But he blocked Laxus out.

She's so pretty. He thought, his cheeks turning pink.

"Staring at someone, Sting?" Rogue appeared behind the blond, scaring him.

Sting quickly turned his body around, his back facing you. "N-No, I wasn't!" He proclaimed.

"Too late, Sting, I already busted you." Rogue smirked. "I win."

"T-That's not fair!" Sting whined.

"I don't care." Rogue stated bluntly. "Now, go confess your undying love for (Y/N)."

"I don't have 'undying love' for (Y/N)!"

"Yes, you do."

"No, I don't!"

"Yes, you do."

"No, I don't!"

"Do."

"Don't!"

"Do."

"Don't!"

"Jeez, you guys are annoying." Gajeel growled, "I'll do it."

"Wha-" Sting gasped, turning to face Gajeel. "No! Don't!"

"Hey, (Y/N), Saber boy over here has a huge crush on you!" Gajeel shouted across the room, since you and Laxus had gotten your food and moved somewhere else to eat.

The room went silent. Dead silent.

Sting stood horrified while Rogue tried to hold back his laughter.

You dropped the fried chicken drumstick that was in your hand, it landed on your plate. If your jaw could hit the floor, it would.

While you were paralyzed with shock, Laxus was planning out Sting's murder in his head. Shock him to death? He considered. No, I should make him suffer as much as possible. Maybe I'll rip him limb from limb.

Gajeel snickered to himself before continuing to eat.

"So, you like (Y/N), huh?" Erza broke the everlasting silence, walking up to Sting.

"U-Uh, I-I-" Sting's entire face was red and he was shaking. All eyes were on him. Never before had he ever been so completely embarassed. "I gotta go." He replied quickly before running out of the building.

He ran as fast and as far as he could before collapsing to his knees in the forest.

He heaved in as much air as he could, trying to get some oxygen into his system. That was horrible! Sting had his eyes squeezed shut, trying to forget his embarrassment.

Then he felt a presence behind him.

"My bad." Rogue apologized, rubbing the back of his head shyly. "I didn't know you'd take it that personally. And I didn't expect Gajeel to jump in either."

"You don't get it, Rogue." Sting said in a low voice. "You've never liked anybody before."

"Neither have you."

"BUT I LIKE SOMEBODY NOW!" Sting took a deep breath before continuing on a calmer voice. "I didn't want (Y/N) to know that I like her. Honestly, I didn't even wanna believe that I like her. But I do. And even if I told her myself, she wouldn't have returned my feelings. She's dating Laxus. Plus, she's already made it clear that she won't go out with me."

He remembered your words from his fight with you.

"You need heart as well. That is what you're lacking, and until you've changed, don't expect any sane girl to date you, you cocky moron!"

"That doesn't mean you won't get a chance to date her." Rogue commented, trying to stay positive.

"I don't see it happening." Sting grumbled. "And now that she knows, and the freakin' entire magical community knows too, I'll never be able to show my face!"

"Sting, don't be so dramatic!"

"Just leave me here to die."

"Will you stop it!?"

Two Weeks Later . . .

The rest of the night, that night, Sting did manage to avoid you.

Not that you were looking for him.

After cooling off, Laxus had stopped trying to kill Sting. And you were able to enjoy the rest of the night with your boyfriend.

Now, you were sitting in the guild hall, isolated because a fight had broken out.

You were looking through the largest issue of Sorcerer Weekly when you saw the headline of a certain page.

'Sting Eucliffe has a crush on (Y/N) (L/N)! Will she dump Laxus Dreyar for the Master of Sabertooth!?'

You growled as you glared at the article. You ripped the page out of the magazine and tore it into pieces.

Apparently, your love life was the hottest thing to talk about.

It didn't matter though. You were not leaving Laxus for Sting. It wasn't happening.

"You didn't have to rip up the page." Phoebe muttered.

"They don't have to stick their nose where it doesn't belong." You growled.

Your exceed sighed, not bothering to respond.

"When is Laxus getting back?" You grumbled. "He's taking too long."

"He just left yesterday." Phoebe reminded you. "The quest is suppose to last a week or two."

"It feels like it's been forever." You groaned.

Makarov sent Laxus on a solo mission yesterday, much to your dislike.

You wanted to be with your boyfriend.

Suddenly, the doors to the guild were opened. "Help!" A male ran into the guild; a male, in which, you happened to recognize. "I need some help!" He shouted.

Curious, you stood up and walked over to him. "What's the matter, Rogue?" You asked.

He looked at you slightly in relief. "I-It's Sting." He said, "He's missing."
